I never seem to get hungover.

Sure, a minor dull pain that makes my head feel x7000 times heavier than it actually is, but then it generally passes after ten minutes.

What is everyone's favourite alcoholic drink?

I generally just stick to beer.

Until I realise I don't care much anymore and I move on to the Gin (often double with coke). It goes bad from then on.
With enough I don't bother with the coke.

Ahem. Below is a statement currently felt right now.
Please note that this is a naughty word.

F**K.

I'm in love. She's in love. Everyone ELSE is being a DICK about it because we LIKE eachother. WHAT IS WROOOOOOOOOOOONNNNGGGG with liking someone? What's WRONG with being in LOVE with someone?
We ARE NOT doing ANYTHING bad.
We are super compatible. We love the company of the other. We are like the SAME exact person but are COMPLETELY different from each other.
She's decided to say "eff what all you think, I love this guy" and I'm like "frickin' finally". So now everything is in the open in the sense I'm not the only one accepting we like each other and telling others straight up that I do.
We went to Cedar Point. Had an awesome time. Hell, kissed on top of the Millennium Force ride.
Everything was good. Started to get late so we head home (driving separate mind you) but I had to follow her. We get McDonalds cause we're both starving. We sit in our own cars and talk. Now... I don't know if you guys have ever experienced this... but I have with the only other girl I've loved...and that is when you talk... you lose track of time. *cough or make out cough* Everything works as a conversation and you just don't shut up and you enjoy talking to them.
So that happened at like 12 am. So we end up talking till about 1:30 am. Opps. Well ****, didn't really mean to do that. Neither of us did or realized it. So it's a half hour drive for her and about 20 for me. We take off and her... well the woman who lets her live with her freaks out on her. And it's not really cause we were alone but we didn't let her know she'd be home late. She says we are so crazy about each other that we're irrational and that we are both basically incapable of thinking at all. She calls me. *****es me out.
I apologize and explain what happened. Not good enough. I text her the next day. I very sincerely apologize. She's like whatever. And for the past week has kept giving the girl I like HELL about everything. Not just this with me... but blaming her for all kinds of **** that is SO her fault and her responsibility. She keeps bringing it up. She keeps blaming all of it on her. It's putting her through hell and is making her think that it's all wrong... when she's the psycho ***** that keeps causing drama.
(The girl I like IS of age, she does stay with a woman she's known since she's been very little...and she's kinda taken over as her guardian cause her mom isn't... really much of a mother)
But this woman is taking all this stuff out on her when (trust me) it's very obvious she's ****ed off at me. I have a good mind to just track her down and just ***** at her to high heaven and DESTROY her argument and just rip her to shreds... and I know that I'm very capable of doing so with what I know of her and how she is. But that would only make the situation worse.
After Cedar Point, last Thursday... we've seen each other everyday... had a great time each time... and hell, ditched everything and ran away last Sunday and spent the whole day with each other alone. The Guardian was out of town anyways...and yeah, whatever. We did it and had an awesome time. But now, here we go again. She's back and has been raising HELL over every little thing and NOTHING at all... and she keeps bringing me up, almost as if to hurt her and aggravate her even more than she is. It's like she's trying to get back at me... and it's like she just... is causing everything to go to hell... and things would seriously be fine right now if she would actually forgive and forget and move on with her effing life. She can't take a simple mistake... and she keeps irritating my girl to death.
She got seriously chewed out about me and her being with each other and liking each other today. I have YET to hear about all the crap she said this time... So I nearly broke up with her today. I seriously almost got dumped because of this crap. It's retarded. She said that she's stuck between her Guardians and me. I make her happy, she loves me, she want's to be with me... and she wants a future with me.
She HATES living there but is kinda stuck there for the time being... and she HATES living there because they seriously (well mostly just the woman) take advantage of her and has her do so much stuff that is seriously way to much to do. I see how that would be like... earning your keep for staying there... But not with what they have her do. It's like they just use her.
So it's retarded. All day has just been retarded. Well...we ate lunch at my house today and that was cool... but that stuff has to stop and I don't know. I just want to punch someone. I just want to go off on someone. There is a lot of **** that has happened today besides this too.
I'm just fed up. I think I might just tell her I'm going to kidnap her, pick her up... take all the money out of my account and just run away with her somewhere. That's what I'd like to do anyways.
So I think I've convinced her there is no reason for breaking up... I don't know... not yet anyways. She's going to a concert with her guardian people and others tonight after all this **** has happened today... and can't talk tonight. So I... I... I really don't know what's going to happen.
All this drama because of this woman is just ruining everything. I see her concern and stuff, but you don't act like that. You don't just use that situation to make the person feel like **** so you feel that you get your point across on something completely different all together. And that's what she's doing. I seriously want to just cross over to the dark side... just this once...and completely mess her mind up.
God, I'm a dangerous person. Be happy that I'm a good person with a well meaning heart. I'd be a very bad... bad guy.
*sigh*
If I gave one of you $500 would you shoot me? I know American currency is **** right now, but hey... buy some nice Italian food why not.

Grreeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh I hate life. LET ME JUST HAVE SOMETHING AND BE HAPPY DAMMIT.

Sure they're all girls?
or start talking to girls irl instead
My point is I talk to people online to make friends, not to end up putting up with bull**** drama madness because jesus **** ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh. If I can talk to guys online why can't I talk to girls, or is the whole internet just so inherently horrible that I can only survive as an anti-social nerd whatever.

Edit:

Slick: Guardians suck all the way, they are always over-bearing and over-protective and will just make bad things worse. Either you manage to come to terms with them, or you'll just have to wait it out until she doesn't need then anymore and can be her own woman and you two can be together without any hassle. I know easier said than done, but if you really love each other, you'll manage.
Don't go suicidal just yet, you're no Romeo & Juliet, the pursuit of happiness is never easy.

Well, the post has gone now. I hope there was a good reason for removing it.

TBH what I really didn't get about that post with the images and the "Solid 7," was the reactions in reply to it. I thought they were over the top, which is why I thought there might have been something more important than just the guy's delusion. Besides, it seems a bit over the top to have posted such a long story and example photographs, and it doesn't feel genuine, as if the whole thing is a joke. If that were the case I would expect the reactions to acknowledge that. But who says any other forum than OD has to make sense?

Are you a fan of the animated series, Aku?

I mean, is your disgust at the new film based on that or just that it's a Michael Bay film? :pnot a particular fan of the old show. I watched it a bit but not enough that it's any sort of nostalgia element in my mind. I also don't have anything against michael bay and consider the first transformers movie to be quite good.

this new one, however, has about 6 too many scenes of random things humping each other, about 10 too many fan-service panty-shots and 2 minutes worth of college-kid's-mom-on-drugs too much. he did a good job with making the movie much more about the robots than the first one, but unfortunately the plot made ABSOLUTELY NO FORKING SENSE! seriously, the entire plot was that the transformers are trying to stop an ancient enemy from killing everyone off and stealing the energon source from the earth. well about half way through the movie you find out that said energon source isn't exclusive to the earth and that the whole entire motivation for every part of the movie would have been solved with about 10 seconds of prior planning...

the acting is ok, though the lines the actors had to say were so over-the-top that it stopped being funny after the first hour. it's like the writers were trying to have a competition to see who could come up with the most cliche actiony dialogue. the directing is ok, as well, in my mind. however, the gratuitous shots of megan fox looking pointlessly sexy REALLY should've been left out. there was actually one scene near the beginning where she undresses. no reason for it being there, she just undressed. in public no less.

all in all, it's just a bad film. nothing against or for transformers and nothing against or for michael bay. it's just a bad movie.

Sounds like a classic Transformers plot to me.

Megatron: "Quickly, gather the energy so we can get back to Cybertron!"
Soundwave: "Energon cubes in production"
Starscream: "This isn't well planned, Megatron. When it backfires and you die, I'll be the leader"
Optimus: "Autobots, transform and roll out!"
Spike: "We gotta stop those Deceptijerks but I'm just a fragile human flesh sack"
Bumblebee: "Jump in, Spike, we'll show them who's got the biggest resistors!"
Optimus: "Careful Bumblebee, I sense electro-astro-mango-fields ahead"
Jazz: "Yo hip tick tock, G. Mother snazz the razzamatazz up that fo' sho' ma nizzle, word!"
Megatron: "Retreeeeaaat!"

It sounds excellent.I'd agree so long as those energy cubes they just started producing turned out to have already been in production for thousands of years and they have an entire stockpile that they can't use until they've finished the production they've just started :p and the whole planet was made of melted cheese.

Vader
8 Jul 2009, 12:58
You mean like a stockpile which they need an astrobridge to access? An astrobridge which requires energon cubes to function?

8 Jul 2009, 13:08
You mean like a stockpile which they need an astrobridge to access? An astrobridge which requires energon cubes to function?

Maybe I need to see it for myself to get what you mean.my example wasn't quite as absurd as the movie (except for the cheese bit). their entire point in the movie is to uncover clues leading to an ancient device that was to be used to syphon off earth's energon source. the autobots are trying to defend that because doing so will cause irreparable harm to the earth. well, eventually, you find out that they could've just built said doomsday device on, say, mars, and been done with it a long time ago. that and the big evil bad guy apparently just decided to go ahead and NOT search for this device over the thousands of years that humans were too stupid and defenseless to do anything about him....not sure why, but I guess he's just a nice evil tyrant like that.

admittedly, this may be par for the course in terms of transformers plot lines (I wouldn't know), but the way it's presented certainly makes it a horror nonetheless.

That's an assumption I'm going to ignore and make for myself at the time.

Look at it this way: I love the G1 cartoon. I have every episode. I then went to do QA on the 360/PS3/Wii/PS2 game which accompanied the first live action movie. I did 14-16 hours a day, 7 days a week. It was mind-crippling, soul-shattering work. I still watched the film and enjoyed it a lot more than I should have done. Recently I picked up a copy of the game we'd tested and rather enjoyed the first level. I know it's **** and I have some really bad memories from testing it but I can forgive it because it has transforming robots, Peter Cullen and Frank Welker doing voices and levels names after G1 episodes.

Taking that into account, I suspect I may enjoy the new film and will inevitably draw comparisons between it and the cartoon, as I already have in a previous post. :)

So today I had an exam.

So today at 8am I got early to the train station.

So today the train decided just for me to arrive 40 minutes late on a different platform covering up for the 4 other late trains after it because I missed a good old adrenaline rush as I was pushed around by an angry restless mob.

So today I didn't quite get to the exam on time.

So today at 8am someone decided to throw themselves onto a high-speed train, clogging up all the lines as people picked up the pieces spread for miles along the track.

So today isn't worth thinking about.

Everywhere else (mere inches from this portion of the wall) it's like drilling into diamonds but not here, oh no. I barely touched the drill to the wall and a hole about twice the size I needed appeared.

Now I have to fill the hole and wait until the Poly-Filla dries before I can finish putting the shelves up. The problem is I can't find the Poly-Filla, nor can I afford more Poly-Filla.

So, now I have one of two shelves up and 3 holes in the wall where a shelf should be. Stupid Victorian houses and there fickle wall densities.

so this morning I finally get a response to someone about me being their roommate while I'm in college. I've been on roommates.com for a while and I've been searching through the online version of the local newspaper there and this is the first time anything decent has shown up. good timing, too, because I've got about a week to find a place to stay and 2 weeks before school actually starts...

well, the guy asked for a basic description of myself, what I'm in to, etc. upon receiving that, he said that we are total opposites and that it wouldn't work out....

just got surgery performed on my sinuses. the surgeon went up in my nose with some crazy probe thing and went to town on the sinuses, draining them of excess fluid and scraping out a bunch of polyps. apparently i will feel absolutely great when everything is said and done, but right now i have a metric fúckton of packing up through my nose and sinuses, making it so that i can only breathe through my mouth. my auditory range is also somewhat lessoned and of course i can't taste anything outside the basic flavor range either, which is a bit of an odd experience. i'm all drugged up on vicodin which kind of owns but it's also making me extremely drowsy and cantankerous

correct. i had gotten a ct scan on my head after going into the doctor and complaining of some facial pain behind my eyeballs, which was occasionally very intense. while the scan had revealed some serious blockage, however, no polyps were visible. but apparently when my surgeon actually cut open the whole cheek sinus area, it was just filled with polyps and some gross semi-hardened possibly fungal residue. he's sending that stuff in for a culture, so we'll see what that's all about.

So did this come in, like, suddenly? I've kinda wondered if I have some sort of sinus infection or polyps because I have chronic inflammation. I went to an allergist and discovered I'm allergic to dust, which I blamed for everything, but I spent this last week in the mountains at over 10,000 feet elevation and there was little to no improvement which makes me wonder if there's more to it. It usually gets a little better when I leave the house, but it never clears up like I'd think if it were allergies.

I haven't been able to smell for years. Except for one day. My roommate got a prescription nasal spray and let me try it, and the next day I smelled everything I didn't even know had a scent. (I didn't know pizza had a smell?!). I tried it the next day, nothing, and it never worked again.

So how do you get tested for polyps and fungal goop before they cut you open? And what caused the doctor to start cutting before he saw polyps and goop anyways?

that sounds very much like symptoms of sinus blockage and polyps. the first step for diagnosis for me was to get a ct scan, which was able to image all the blockage that was taking place - it was showing up as white where it should have been black. anyway after that your doctor will go over the images with you and recommend a course of action.

the procedure itself only takes about three hours, the packing stays in for about three days which will be three of the most miserable days of your life. then they pull the packing out, which is very sudden and very painful (i almost passed out) but it also is over in about 10 seconds. subsequent recovery from getting the packing out will take a while after that

i'm still not fully recovered, but my case was somewhat unusual in that i already have a terminal lung condition (which makes breathing and recovery of the respiratory system much more difficult) and the septum of my nose was messed up so they had to break it and re-set it during the course of the operation. as such the nose is still more than a lil' bit sensitive to the touch

given that you have such chronic issues with inflammation and blockage, i'd definitely consider getting it looked at. personally i haven't had my nasal senses greatly enhanced, but i feel a lot more clear-headed and i don't get sudden sharp headaches anymore

It always seems with me that whenever I actually put a bet on it loses, and whenever I don't the guy wins.

I (used to) use a site where you can 'bet' on matches etc. but without using real money. I quite often did put these bets on for real though. I haven't used the site for a while though: http://www.online-betting-guide.co.uk/tips/tipster.php?id=68771

I put a 'fake bet' on Vettel to win the Chinese Grand Prix at something like 19-1 or 17-1. I didn't put a real bet on straight away, but did after he qualified first (after which the odds had dropped severely).

I also put a 'fake bet' on Del Potro to win the US Open at 34-1... though I never actually put a real bet on that. £5 would've given me a £165 profit :(

Star Worms
17 Sep 2009, 13:02
There are many 'methods' around, but none will work. One stipulates that you bet £1, let's say on something 2-1. If you win, you get £1 profit. If you don't they say bet £2 on another 2-1. If you lose that, bet £4 and keep doubling until you win.

But of course it's high risk and low payout. It's like the inverse of winning the lottery: You're betting on the hugely likely odds that you will not hit a string of continuous losses that would bankrupt you.

If anything, the easiest way to win money is to bet on something you know about, or play poker. Poker has skill involved so if you're better than those on your table, you're likely to walk away with the money.

I'm politically left/liberal/progressive/modern/whatever (with a few exceptions - e.g. I'm a monarchist), but my opinions on behaviour, clothes, style, music, and much more, are shockingly old fashioned. My wardrobe is full of suits, for a start. My hat shelf has several vintage hats on. I even own a 1920s silk top hat (although I don't have the guts to wear something _that_ old fashioned). About 80% of my clothes are older than I am...

you have to bear in mind that this is my first girlfriend, e.g. to some degree i didn't know what i was doing. and before you make fun of me, i wanted to find someone who i actually connected with on a level beyond "omg i want to bone u", unlike the vast majority of horny teenagers

I didn't mean to sound like such a ****, btw. Sorry, I was tired when I wrote it. I don't like hickeys, but I understand why you do them, I just meant to point out that it often is done by younger people, as younger children a) experiment, and b) usually don't care what their parents think, so that could be why you're being treat as if you are younger than you are.

As for the neck, it _is_ an erogenous zone.

Hah. When I started dressing "vintage-inspired" or "classic" or whatever people want to call it, I constantly expected people would stare at me, comment, etc.

They did. (Unless I didn't have a hat on). However, 99% of the comments were positive. The amount of flirting I get is _insane_ for a start, and everyone from the very old ("you remind me of my youth..") to the young seem to appreciate it.

I don't notice it as much now though, except if I'm wearing jeans & a t-shirt to do some messy work or something and a friend doesn't recognise me. That's fun.

amusingly enough, I saw a guy at my school who walks around in a top hat. normally I would say this makes a person look like an idiot, but it's actually very well-suited to him.

I'd love to see a picture of you in your "vintage". would you happen to have a pic available at all?

Apparently Tesco have made big profits in the recession. I'm not surprised - they stole plenty of money from me yesterday. I bought 2 items: One was on offer at £1 rather than £1.50. The other was £1.07. The total came to £2.83 - the item 'on offer' was not on offer, it was just there to steal money. The other item was at a completely different price to that advertised on the shelf.

Give me an old corner shop any day of the week... at least they don't fraudulently extort their customers unlike Tesco and two other supermarkets I have had the misfortune of shopping in.

You should have gone to the Customer Services desk. They may have made a mistake with the tickets. Notice they don't put validity dates on them. I bet someone has put them out prematurely or neglected to take them off after the end of a promotion. The places are huge, it can be difficult to manage.

The other day I saw a photo of a pen with the slogan "FREEDOM WITHOUT WALLS". Underneath it said "made in China".

Turned out the latter was on a clear plastic bag the pen was inside, but still pretty funny.

Tesco have a store policy of refunding double the difference in such cases, so you could have got the goods for 69p.

Try to get the keyboard free of drink ASAP. Which drink was it? I spilt coke over my netbook keyboard and it worked fine for a day, then it slowly worsened (first shift went tempramental, then the "i" key stopped working...) until it just stopped working all together (or at least, so much I couldn't type my password). I had to buy a new one (keyboard that is, not netbook).

It went through the washing machine a month ago. It seemed to be working fine except for one or two minor faults, but today, after it ran out of batteries surprisingly quickly, it hasn't turned on again (the charging light doesn't even come on when plugged into mains or PC!)

Right now I'm completely broke. Totally skint. My bank account is emptier than my wallet and my wallet is utterly bare.

As a result, the trousers I bought 18 months ago which ripped during the summer and got neatly converted to 3/4 length shorts are now the only 'trousers' I own.

Vader
21 Oct 2009, 14:30
Basically they all got torn one way or another.

For example, when sat at the PC I tend to sit with one foot under the other leg's thigh, then when I get up I move that foot from under the thigh in a floorwards direction. In doing so my trouser leg of that side would oft tear.

Whilst this offers a nice split up the leg for prom night, it isn't the most practical of trouser leg forms.

My jeans almost always wear out above the heal first. If the opening is too large it'll sink lower than my heal when sitting, then standing up will tug at it. I've also had pants get torn by my bicycle chain and the gear that drives it because there's no protective shield.

Then your trousers were too tight.

Quite the opposite, they were too long and baggy. The wear and tear from the friction around the heels opened a gap in the otherwise impenetrable armour that is trouser legs. That bit of worn fabric was vulnerable to a rip due to the aforementioned circumstances.

Make sense?
