Ah, so now love is caused by decision rather than hormones, instinct or coincidence? :D

It's all four, I think.

"Decided" was the wrong word. "Concluded" would be more appropriate.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/7061164.stm - yay, finally :D

The world of aviation has finally taken one small step forward after the A380 took off for its first commercial flight. Mind you, the aviation world hasn't made up the ground it lost 4 years and a day ago when Concorde was retired from commercial service :(

i got a 2140 composite (this is out of 2400) on the SAT :)

this includes a 770 (!) on the critical reading portion, a 640 on the math portion, and a 730 on the writing portion

Good job! You did better than I - I got a 2010...:p

The SAT suxxors. Now it's way too biased against english-oriented people, y'know? Where it used to be 50% math based and 50% right brain? Whatevs, I got into my first choice college, so I'm not going to complain. When applying as an engineer I don't think they even look at your english scores or overall score quite so much as the math one.

I never had to take SATs. I don't know how my school got away with that.

On a positive note, I finally have a damn internet connection and don't need to go down to the uni to get internet. It only took 3 and a half months!

Also, this thread reached 2000 posts and nobody cared.

I'm not one to talk about what goes on in my life, except when it's driving me out of my mind and I need to offload it, but since I said it's a good idea to post more, inside and out, I see no harm in getting involved here.

Less than a month ago, my last boss contacted me and asked if I'd like to be a Sales Team Leader in the new store, opening November 17th. That's the next step up from a Sales Advisor, and the first rung on the management ladder. Only been five years!

Because of this, and because I need to complete my driving learning and pass my tests, I bought a car on the Thursday of last week. It's a new Mitsubishi Colt CZ2 in Atlantis blue. Oooh!

Then I presume she was better at shopping than my ex, who picks out something, goes to a closed till, then, wanders off and leaves me there while they reopen it and I have to try to get her attention from some distance away.

Possibly she was hoping I'd buy the things, but I paid for dinner, which I think was plenty 4 days into a relationship.

- Ok, but first, let's check every other store for the exact same thing because they might have it cheaper. (protip: they don't) that one never made sense to me. unless you're shopping for ridiculously high-dollar clothes, the best you're gunna get is $5 cheaper unless there's a sale. if there is a sale, it'll have been advertised, so as a consumer in the market for such an item, you would already KNOW about the sale. therefore, why not just pay the price you find it as and save yourself the 5 hours of hassle.....

I lived with my mom and 3 sisters, and they always loved to do the "shopping around" thing, when it's worth the tiny bit of extra money you may or may not even spend to just for-go the 5 hour shopping times...

She's actually a highly effective shopper. We pretty much went into a bunch of stores, looked around, and didn't buy anything. She bought one shirt all day, and tried on an additional three items which she quickly decided not to buy of her own accord. So for like most of the time we just kinda walked along the street.

People have been catching on that I like her, which is kinda awkward. But then at the same time they think she likes me, so hopefully they're right.

I had absolutely no idea whatsoever that that movie was fully CGI from watching the commercials. I only learned that after reading a newspaper review.
That's... damn impressive. I honestly can't tell it isn't real, but I don't plan on seeing it, so I guess I won't know if there're any glaring "THAT'S TOTALLY FAKE" moments.

I had absolutely no interest in that movie at all before I found that out, as it looked to me like a run-of-the-mill "hey, 300 was popular so lets do something like that", so I guess I never looked all that closely.

There's this slight chance that I might be visiting my brother on Amsterdam around christmas.
One whole week, would leave on thursday dec 20 and would return on wednesday 26.
Not certain yet tho, but if it happens that would be about the only time ever I could actually possibly be at a forum get-togheter, unless you all decide to come to mexico some time. :p

The bad news about it is that that would mean that my new pc would get further away from me. :p

also, Age of Conan's battle system is SERIOUSLY awesome. obviously I can't go into detail and such, but if you're keeping an eye on the game, the combat so far in the little I've played is amazing. so fun I actually want to try to play a melee class (which I've never done on an RPG where you pick your class)

The band is abit of a waste of time at the moment but meh, it's kinda fun.

I also still fancy that girl I mentioned. Quite alot.
No idea if she likes me. She seems to be the most affectionate towards me. Well, only me then. Stroking hair, hugs etc. Kinda unsure if it's anything more.
She had another guy come on to her, and she turned him down because she didn't want a boyfriend.
But at the moment, I'm not looking for a girlfriend, just fun I guess.

Best band practice we've ever had tonight.
Wrote three new songs.
Fragments (Lyrics me, Music Stephen )
Open Heart Surgery (not the final name)(Lyrics Stephen, Music Stephen,)
Maximo Narc (not the final name)(Lyrics Stephen, Music Me)

They sound good. Fragments is a pretty epic. Verses are pretty laid back and mellow, and the choruses are pretty uplifting.
Open Heart Surgery is like piano driven for the most part until the chorus.
And Maximo Marc is an indie riff based song that's pretty catchy.

Anyway. You probably don't care but meh. :)

Second is Umberto Eco came to the Slovenian capital yesterday to receive the honorary doctorate the University here has awarded him and later gave a brief lecture about his coming book. "Abusing a technicality… FOR JUSTICE

To precis: Erin is a 29 year old woman who needs between $1500 and $5000 to pay for brain surgery, which she can’t afford. In order to raise the money, she’s bought a paid account at the file hosting site MegaUpload. MegaUpload uses a reward program whereby people with paid accounts are given money if their file is downloaded over five million times. She’s uploaded a 2.3kb txt file which should take about half a second to download, and is trying to get as many downloads as possible to see if she can break five million and get the money. It will only count one download per day from your IP no matter how many times you do it.

The link is here (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5QBOA940) (left click; if you right click and save as then it won’t work). If you could (1) download it and (2) pass it around, that would be nice. The URL is http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5QBOA940."

For any good Samaritans hanging about.
It's easy, AND you help someone pay for brain surgery, since here in the US of A, you have to pay money for health care or else you're screwed. WHEE!

I wouldn't say his songs are really that difficult to play. It really varies, honestly. "Where Do the Children Play" is just a few chords, while "The Wind" has some fingerpicking that I found tricky to get the hand of. It's really not that bad - I mean, I can manage it and I've been playing for I think under a year still.

edit: Not that it says much, but his music is a good deal harder than Linkin Park though, or at least what I've heard of their guitar music... Bleed It Out is just xxxx79 xxxx77 xxxx97 xxxx107 (as in 10 and 7 not 1 and 07) played over and over and over for the whole song.

So I just called the warranty service of that store I purchased the graphics card off, they have determined the card is indeed faulty and will replace it for another one. Now, if this one doesn't work, something will die.

Real bowling? Ahahahaha! That involves leaving the house.

I just bought myself an A5 size Wacom Bamboo Fun graphics tablet, which I was getting money for for Christmas. It's not the same type that Splapp and HK have, they have the superior Intuos3 tablet, but that was far too expensive for poor stundent me.

Should get it in a few days. Wheeee.:D:D:D

after giving my wife my old surround sound speakers in a fit of laziness, I realized that I needed to get my own speakers, as I can't listen to music well on just my headphones (which, while surround sound and high quality, just aren't made to use unless you're in the comp chair....duh :p).

I went today to go to wal mart and decided to look around to see if there were any decent quality speakers at the nearby Best Buy and Circuit City. Circuit City was closed for new years, so I headed to best buy. there, I ran into these (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1068243&CatId=98). the sound quality is friggin amazing. by far the best speakers I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. I love these things!! :D

Logitech produces surround systems too.

Logitech produces surround systems too.our computers are right next to each other and so the surround sound is still right next to me, it's just far easier to leave it next to me rather than move it around. if I want surround sound, I can either just listen through her speakers, or I can use my headphones. for gaming, I'm going to use the headphones, but for listening to music and watching DVDs, the stereo sound works just as well.

My band are set to record an EP in mid-Febuary and we're gonna do a few gigs.
We're gonna release the EP for free on the internet, so if you guys are interested I'll post a link.
Also, we've got a few fairly well developed and known bands saying we could support them such as The Boxer Rebellion, The Worldisonfire and Amplifier, who's singer we name our band after. :)

So it's going very very very well. :D

I have friends that play online poker too.
They earn several hundred Euros per month, but that still doesn't pay all their bills.
They say that you'd have to play nearly as many hours every day as you'd have to in a regular job.

Getting good and then playing in bigger tournaments against real humans at a table could really do the trick.

A friend of mine played it to help fund his time at Cambridge.

Apparently the trick is never to spend any money that you haven't already made through playing poker, i.e. never spend anything more than (the money they give you as a free trial thing + winnings).
