I just got my rejection letter through from Cambridge University today :D

I suppose you're all wondering why I posted this in Positive Events?

Well, Cambridge ask for AAA at A2. My number one choice (for studying Aero engineering) is Loughborough, which is only after AAB - BBB (my number 2, Bath, is after AAB). Therefore, getting rejected from Cambridge has made my life easier, as I now don't have to decide whether to take them up on their offer or not, and nor do I have the bother of getting straight A's

Some cheeky bugger nicked the pentium four prosessors out of a load of new HP computers at my uncle's workplace.
The insurance company payed for a whole batch of new computers to replace them.
My uncle gave my dad one of the computers with a missing processor, so we now have a brand new HP computer for the price of a replacement pentium processor. :D

AndrewTaylor
2 Jan 2005, 18:04
Replace it with an AMD. That way it's even cheaper.

Test Zero
2 Jan 2005, 18:35
No! If you buy an AMD CPU for it, you'll need to buy a motherboard with a different CPU socket. There aren't any motherboards that fit in a HP case properly.

AndrewTaylor

Oh, I see. Can you actually buy an HP with an AMD?

AndrewTaylor
2 Jan 2005, 19:00
Nothing per-se. But they're more expensive than AMDs and they're not generally as fast, and if you want to bundle them in your PC you have to irritate all your customers playing that horrid little jingle at them. And they're advertised with a little blue man on a flying scooter. Really. I ask you, who makes purchasing decisions about expensive electronics based on that kind of mindless drivvel?

And there was all that fuss about Pentiums getting simple sums wrong in the lower decimal places.

Test Zero

He didn't say there was anything "so bad" about them, he said AMD chips are cheaper. :)

FutureWorm
2 Jan 2005, 23:08
what's so bad about Intel chips?
Well, for starters, Intel is quagmired in the world of 32 bits (which they dominate), while AMD and Apple continue to push the farthest barriers of 64-bit computing with their Athlon-64 and G5 chips, respectively. Intel gets you less bang for your buck - the chips are more expensive and deliver less performance than their AMD counterparts. The gigahertz gap is becoming ever more apparent with each new chip AMD and Apple put out - they're so much more effecient than Pentiums.

And so on, and so forth... I could go on about Intel almost as long as I could go about Microsoft.

I'm sick of MS being portrayed as evil. I mean, yes they are evil, but ever huge company is. MS makes some good products. I'm very with Win XP. It works very nicely, and I haven't had any problems with. Apple is just as evil as MS. They all want money, and they'll try to get it any way possible.

The only reason you might be Ok with Win XP is because you haven't tried to do some of the more advanced things with it. It has a much tighter hold on your system than Win 98 ever did, and M$ doesn't want you to know a whole lot of things about the inner workings of the Win XP. It is almost like saying that there is nothing wrong with Stalin's way of industiralizing Soviet Union because it worked. I was trying to find some info on coding for Win in Assembley, and you still have to use kernel libraries. In Linux, all of the interupts are well known, and if you feel like it, you can write Linux software in a Hex editor.

Except that Linux is rubbish for Gaming.

Nonsense. Linux is fine for gaming. Linux itself has no problems with gaming in any shape or form - It's just the lack of games for it.

"Linux doesn't have many games available." is a much better statement, as your statement can be interpreted two ways - The way you mean it, and the way I purposely interpreted it so that I could rant. ;)

double post edit:

Apple have a much better Open Source system - http://www.apple.com/opensource/
Apple have much better security.
Apple, when they upgrade their OS, have this crazy idea - The upgrades actually make it FASTER, as opposed to add loads of extra crap to slow it down like Microsoft.
Apple realise that BSD and GNU/Linux are superior, and that's why Mac OS X has a FreeBSD back end - Come on, it's based on Linux.

etc. etc. etc.

Microsoft make a few decent products - Visual Studio .NET is fantastic IMO. I don't think Microsoft are evil, I just think their coding is ****. DirectX is inferior to OpenGL, their OS is inferior to the alternatives, OpenOffice is catching up with Microsoft Office, etc.

I know I say Microsoft are evil, but they are no more "evil" than, say, British Telecom (who, let's face it run about as much a monopoly with phones as Microsoft do with computers/software).

Microsoft have done some good things, like the XBox. When it was released (albeit it cost £500), it was superior spec-wise to its competitiors. It is also a nice, stable console. They have also come on leaps and bounds with their operating systems. At school, we use the MS OS's in the worst possible way: on an RM computer network (who are more evil than Microsoft :D ). Naturally, this means lots and lots of crashes, reboots and losing of work. XP seems to be holding up well, so I have to say "Well done Microsoft" It shows what can happen when you copy apple ;-)

No, I meant what I said. Linux is crap for gaming. Not necessarily for the reason you stated (not the first one at least). The problem is that the majority of developers won't support the platform, and this is hardly helped but the Linux-loving Elitist hashholes who say things like, "If Insert Developer's name here won't support my OS, then I cannot support Insert Developer's name here" and "Linux am superior! Shower me with kisses!". Linux may very well be a cleaner, tighter OS than Windows but the problem is - the major problem - is that Linux appeals only to a small subculture of geeks, nerds and techophiles. Your average Gamer - indeed, you're average PC owner - uses Windows, and this is what the games are made for.

I won't argue with Dual-Boot versions of games, such as Quake III and Serious Sam and so forth, but when a Linux Gamer (I had to try to type that a few times, because my hands won't let me type what my mind knows doesn't exist) goes onto an internet forum and types "I demand you port this game to Linux!!". Hell, the only thing sadder is people requesting an Amiga OS 4 Port...

Yes. Or rather, probably the publishers as they make the marketing decisions, but eh.

Compared to the <insert subject of topic here>-loving elitist assholes who say anything?
There's elitist assholes on worms - Cheech, MrLee, etc.
There's the same on ANYTHING. They don't help anyone, and we all wish they'd go away - But everywhere has them, that's not a problem of Linux.

Linux may very well be a cleaner, tighter OS than Windows but the problem is - the major problem - is that Linux appeals only to a small subculture of geeks, nerds and techophiles.

Which is very slowly changing as more and more people are indeed getting fed up with Windows - Give it ten years or so and I believe Linux might be viable for gaming - And when games get released, then more people will swap over, etc.
(Unless Microsoft is competent and makes a decent OS, but if that happens then I won't care).

Your average Gamer - indeed, you're average PC owner - uses Windows, and this is what the games are made for.

Your average PC user uses the internet to view websites. They don't use it for IRC. Right, let's remove all IRC support from the world then - After all, only average people matter.

Well yeah, I'm not expecting developers to just make games for Linux - That'd be suicide. But making games for both platforms would be good. I'm not expecting it to happen because publishers suck, and there's also just not enough demand. You'd need several publishers to get all their games to come out on both OSs to make Linux a viable market, and that's not gonna happen for many reasons.

Hell, the only thing sadder is people requesting an Amiga OS 4 Port...

Yes, because requesting the port for an OS for a system that could not run the game and is barely distributed is similar to requesting a port for the OS that is run on the fastest machines in the world, and is much more widely distributed.

You know that's not what I meant. What I meant was it's pointless developing games specifically for Linux, as some people out there are insistant on developers doing.

I get a lot of emails from people asking me to port Team17's newer games to the platform despite the fact I'm not Team17 Staff at all. I usually get noe or two emails a week regarding this, actually. It's rather odd.

Have a look around the Worms3D/Worms Forts forums. No, scratch that, have a poke around the forum of any videogame developer. How many people are sat there rubbing their noses demanding Linux versions of games the company releases either recently or, ooh, 5 or 6 years ago? It's happening here - people want a Linux version of Worms Armageddon. Sure, why not? Good luck to 'em, I say.

My main argument is that anyone who has installed Linux on their computer has sealed their own fate and forfeits the right to b!tch about a lack of games for their precious OS.

SargeMcCluck
3 Jan 2005, 23:37
That's the thing, though. 10 years. I'm just sayin'...

10 years ago there wasn't any commercial cames coming out for Linux. Now there is quite a few. Hopefully it will grow exponentially. But yeah, 10 years. So what? It will still be Linux then. And in fact, the chances are that a version of Linux that is out now will, with a few modifications, support new releases of games in quite a few years time if Linux does become a more viable gaming OS. So Linux nowadays could quite easily be a gaming OS.

I play games on my Linux box quite a bit. So hey.

You know that's not what I meant. What I meant was it's pointless developing games specifically for Linux, as some people out there are insistant on developers doing.

Specifically for Linux is crazy, yes. Developers should develop for Mac, Linux and Windows simultaneously - Especially now that Mac OS X is a Linux based OS, so developing for Mac means that a Linux version is **** easy, and the other way around.

I used Amiga OS 4 as an example. I get a lot of emails from people asking me to port Team17's newer games to the platform despite the fact I'm not Team17 Staff at all. I usually get noe or two emails a week regarding this, actually. It's rather odd.

I'm not on about porting anyway - Porting is silly. They should develop for both simultaneously. It's easier than you'd think. Then you just throw the Linux binaries on the CD and tada!
Of course, if they're using DirectX that's hard, but OpenGL is superior imo.

Have a look around the Worms3D/Worms Forts forums. No, scratch that, have a poke around the forum of any videogame developer. Depends on the game - Games like Worms are not popular with the Linux community in general. Take a look at say, UT2004 infact - Oh wait, they *know* it's popular with the Linux community and so have acted on that. Or any game that id releases. Or Neverwinter Nights. I could carry on. As for ports of old games - Just release info on how the engine reads stuff and let the community do its stuff - It's happening with the Infinity Engine games - There's an open source engine for the games.

What really annoys me is developers like Blizzard - They have Mac OS X versions of their games, and Mac OS X is based on Linux, but they don't make a Linux version. It'd be hardly any effort for them (literally), but they just don't bother.

My main argument is that anyone who has installed Linux on their computer has sealed their own fate and forfeits the right to b!tch about a lack of games for their precious OS.

Okay. So anyone that has installed Windows on their computer has sealed their own fate and forfeits the right to b!tch about security, stability, or any of the other flaws that exist in that poor excuse for an OS? I'll have to remember that.

In some classes, getting 100% automatically means that there is no curve. That is why I usualy tried to get a little less than that, if there was a way to make sure that it doesn't go bellow 95%. People tend not to like you when you caused them to loose 10-15% on a hard test.

Broadband which means we don't have to have a phone socket put in my room or wires flying over the house.

Passed my driving theory today:)

35/35 on multiple choice
57/75 on hazard perception

Easiest solution would be to get a wireless router, plug that into your phone socket, and then put a wireless network card into your PC (unless it already has one).

Congrats on passing.

I very much doubt they'll go this year. They were there in 2003, and apparently, they don't show up often (having only been twice, in 1997 and 2003).

You can see a list of the bands rumoured to play here (http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/lineups.php?FestID=790). No sign of Radiohead. :(

Next time Glastonbury comes around, I might just buy a bunch of tickets (If I can get them). Then sell them on at a higher price;). It's perfectly legal too.

Test Zero
7 Apr 2005, 16:30
You won't get away with it. You have to state the names/addresses of the people the tickets are for when you order them, and you can't change this information once they've been bought. You have to provide ID at the gates to prove you are who the tickets were ordered for. They've started to be really strict on this due to all the dickheads who just buy them and sell them on eBay.

AndrewTaylor
7 Apr 2005, 17:16
Then they should announce who's playing before they make you buy the tickets, then. Fair's fair.

Test Zero
7 Apr 2005, 20:22
The demand is more than high enough as is it. In the past few years, there have been hundreds of thousands more people wanting to go than there are tickets available. Confirming the bands is only going to increase the demand.

Yes, well that's easy for you to say. Amy was single. If the worst that can happen is "no" and the best that can happen is "yes" and all the trappings of "yes" then go for it. But the best thing that could happen for me is almost certainly closure, and the worst is the systematic destruction of all my closest friendships. Last time I just asked her out*. She knew I liked her anyway so it was good to get everything out in the open. In the event, she said no and we're both very happy she did -- I got her wedding invitation yesterday. If nothing does come of it I've never seen it harm a friendship.

She said she thought friends should just stay friends. This eventually proved to be a lie, but that's by the by. The point was that, once again, I had managed to get rejected without any of my friends finding out (except the one who was doing the rejecting, of course).

Talking to people is a pain if you don't know them at all, too. I have a problem with doing it in bars and what-have-thee, because I always feel like I should have a reason to talk to them. I can manage "hi", and I could probably manage to offer to buy a drink, but beyond that I'd just run out of things to say and be one drink the poorer for my trouble. I can talk to strangers about total rubbish, too, but I prefer if they initiate that, because I can't imagine many people would appreciate "Wouldn't it be cool if you could have a football that was neutrally bouyant in air?" as an opening line.

Edit: And those that would are all men.

I have the same problem at times. About 50% of the time I manage to say something similar in first 20 minutes, after which the conversation dies rather fast. However, once it gets past that, it is usually not that bad. In fact, I've never actually been turned down when asking for a date. Of course, I don't do that very often, and I never tried asking someone who would certainly say no, which usually includes girls who are engaged or lesbians, but I still find it fairly impressive.

Well, yes. Of course. But it is better than nothing. I can see some rather embarasing moments coming out of it, similar to when you are walking on the street, a good looking girl walks in the opposite direction, and when passes, looks at you and says "Hi". You reply, but then realise that there is someone behind you that she actually knows and was saying "Hi" to. At that point you proceded to feel rather silly about it. I'm sure it happened to everyone at least a few times. However, I still think it would be better than the way things are now. Espetially, if you want to know if she's interested in you or just your money. Of course, I don't actually have any money, so I don't have that problem yet, but I plan to.

Edit: Well, the first track is brilliant, but the album as a whole is just ok. It's pretty much right between the brilliant Discovery and the ho-hum and frequently just plain bad Homework.

I am actually in a state of half-shock about now.

Just to make the whole story clear, for those of you who don't know, I am in a correspondence school. It's basically like regular school, except you work at home at your own pace, textbooks replace the teachers, you mail your assignments in, and in the end it's a much less hectic and more peaceful way to go about education. Given my "popularity" in every school I'd been to in my life, it was a more than welcome change. Of course, this did little to improve my social life. Again, given my so-called popularity, that was perfectly fine with me for a good long while.

For part of my education this year, I've been participating in some volunteer activities in "Stream Team". Environmental awareness-and-improvement-type group. I put in a minimum amount of hours, which then are used as credits towards my graduation. Beats the heck out of doing accounting courses or what have you. Last Stream Team thing I did was release salmon fry into a nearby river. Cool stuff.

Now, over the last 3 days (today included), I got into Shorekeepers. A similar group, and it also counts towards my total hours spent and stuff. Involves more cataloguing and surveying of habitat than direct habitat improvement. For this particular series of outings, we went to the beach. A beach that happens to be just a couple blocks from the farm I used to live on until I was about 5 years old. Takes about 40 minutes to drive there on the highway, if the traffic is good. Also sunburned the backs of my hands slightly today, but nothing to worry about.

(Here comes what you've likely been waiting for if you actually read the rest of that crap.) Day 2 (first day on the beach; day 1 was a basic introduction indoors at some big important building nearby). We're heading off to another section of the beach. One of the girls in the group who's walking alongside me suddenly asks whereabouts I live. A moment of supressed shock and extreme disbelief, and I answer. Day proceeds as it should, and I actually manage to make some brief small talk with her.

Day 3: Last day on the beach. Considerably sunnier out, hence the current sunburns on my hands. Got there around the same time as everyone else, but I don't see her anywhere. Waiting around for the tide to go out, like everyone else. She shows up a few minutes later and actually sort of waves to me as she approaches. Cue another moment of shocked, awkward disbelief. Day progresses. Fortunately, though we're constantly divided into various groups to do the different crap that's required at the different stations, I manage to stay in a group with her most of the time. As we're wrapping up, I finally think of something else to say, which gets a brief dialogue going. Conversation turns to video games. I discover that she played a lot of DOS games in the past, including about 3 of which I'm well acquainted with. Shortly before we both head off, I manage to exchange e-mail addresses with her, and of all the chatting mediums available she apparently uses MSN. So here I sit now, sunburned hands and alll, and shocked dumb that I actually managed to converse with someone of the opposite sex in person. Apparently she only lives about a 20-minute drive away from where I do, too. I don't know or expect anything in particular to come of this, but it feels incredibly nice to have gotten a brief dialogue going.

I'm starting to feel dizzy, and like the entire house is tilted on a major slope. Maybe I'd better lay down.

MFAH, you are being too insecure about yourself. If you believe in yourself, everyone else will to. Self esteam does wonders to your popularity. Just start talking to people like you know them well and as if you expect them to be interested in talking to you, and they will be.

Edit: I'm probably the biggest nerd arround, and it still works for me. If it works for me, it will work for anybody.

I think I tried something like that back in grade 7. Big mistake. Not that I don't appreciate the advice, but that method really does not work for me. I'm an antisocial bugger, and I'm not going to try to pretend to be otherwise. :p

Edit: See? No insecurity problems there. I'm perfectly aware of my traits, they're just not particularly popularity-inducing ones. :p

This will work for anyone. The point here is to be self-confident, and not just bother everyone. On one end of the spectrum there are people who sit quietly and alone. They never start conversations with anyone, and if someone else tries to talk to them they often get nervous and the conversation doesn't go anywhere anyways. On another spectrum are people who bother everyone all the time and achieve nothing but the feeling of annoyance from people whom they talk to. You don't want to be associated with either one. Being just a little twoards either end of that spectrum is a good thing, but you want to stay near the middle. Talk to people even when there is no particularly good reason for a conversation, but watch for signs of them not wanting to talk to you at that moment. Be positive in all conversations. Try to remember things people tell you, and ask them about these things later. You'll be center of any company in no time, and it is trully worth it.

People always smile at me O_O
It scares me.
And I have problems comunicating with people too, they often make jokes that I don't find funny and I end up giving a fake smile. And it's very ackward so I end up trying to avoid conversations with them.
There are very few people I can actually converse with normally.

There's always the chance that his shyness is actually what draws her to him. Maybe she's just looking for someone who obviously isn't a man-whore. :p

Anyway, I used to be reasonably self-confident, but the fact of the matter is, I'm just plain weird. Few females could withstand me long enough to have a conversation. I did have a few lady friends in high school, so I guess there's hope for me, but... Yeah.

Also, my standards on women are probably now way too high.

Finally got Wario Ware Touched! yesterday. Quite good, but it kinda pales in comparison to Twisted!. Also, I think the Parrot is broken. I've heard that someone got it to repeat an entire episode of Fairly Oddparents, someone else got it to repeat Oops I Did It Again, and yet when I say "Four score and seven years ago, we took the finest hops and grains and brewed a refreshing full-bodied logger", the parrot only picks up "ogger".

Large asteroids or comets on collision course with Earth - none observed. Global mobilization of troops in nuclear power countries - all quiet. Collapsing stars capable of going supernova - not close enough. My doomsday device blueprints - still here. Looks like unless there is an enormous explosion on the sun, which is very unlikely, tomorrow is going to happen.

Anyway, I left a lot of balls, forward defended a few (one went flying in the air), edged a few, missed a few, managed to play a genuine leg glance once, slogged one fairly successfully and even managed a square drive. So it went pretty well by my standards.

*throws birthday pineapple melon*

My graduation was nice. Two hours in a church. And a 45-minute mass. The School Captain gave a Valediction address, which was filled with in-jokes that we all remembered and laughed about, then gave out awards and medals. Then came dinner. That was nice. Some salmony stuff, then roast beef(It was TOO DAMN DELICIOUS!!!), then a cake made out of three different types of chocolate mousses. Then I went around taking as many After Eights and Jelly Babies as I could see that no-one had touched.

I said goodbye and thanks to my teachers(and other teachers), then walked off into Dublin. Walking from Ranelagh to Dublin is a LONG walk. It took me 30 minutes. Then, I discovered that the place wanted me to have ID. Which I don't. And I'm still under 18. Which meant that I wouldn't be allowed in without a fake ID. Which I didn't have. And, since the pub we were going to was in a theatre(the Gaiety, if you're next in Dublin), since the time was 1:30 a.m. and theatre pubs are open till 4 a.m., I had to pay €12 for a ticket for a show that I would never see. So I declined, and took a taxi home.

I still enjoyed the night though. Hearing everyone in the queue for a pint at the impromptu bar in the school told to line up or the booze would be taken away. Getting into nearly EVERY photo taken that night. Hugging all and sundry. That sort of thing.

On Monday, I have a class on Aerial Photographs. On Thursday I have a two-hour class on Hamlet, followed a few hours later with a dinner for the school chess players in a classy restaurant in Dublin. Then, on the 3rd, a Maths revision class.

Then comes the Leaving Certificate State Examinations.

Wednesday, 8th June: English Paper 1 - 09:30 -> 12:20
English Paper 2 - 13:30 -> 16:50

Thursday, 9th June: Maths Paper 1 - 09:30 -> 12:00

Friday, 10th June : Ancient Greek - 14:00 -> 17:00

Monday, 13th June: Maths Paper 2 - 09:30 -> 12:00
Geography - 13:30 -> 16:50

Tuesday, 14th June: French - 09:30 -> 12:00
French Aurals - 12:10 -> 12:50

Monday, 20th June: Physics - 09:30 -> 12:30

Then I'm free. FREEE!!!!!!!!!!!

i have finally finished Deus Ex (all 3 endings)! i killed every single enemy, completed every single objective, got every single item, explored every single map to its maximium and listened to every single music track countless times!
and now i must say this: DEUS EX IS THE BEST GAME EVER!!!!! WOO YAY WOO YAY WOO YAY (...)

and now ends the over-excitment and comes the loads of pointless info (hopefully you'll comment on something):

Saves: 1710
Game Time: 29:59:31

my equipment setup (not from the start, obviously): Pistol, Prod, Sawed-Off Shotgun, Dragon Tooth Sword, Flamethrower, GEP Gun, EMP Grenades, Medikits, Bioelectrical Cells, Lockpicks, Multitools (all equipment slots used, no cheating)

how/why i used those weapons:
Pistol - give it a scope, some decent accuracy, and it's like a sniper rifle only much smaller and much more ammo. headshots 'r' us!
Prod - it's the only melee weapon which doesn't kill people.
Sawed-Off Shotgun - didn't actually use it, just like the Assault Rifle, Mini-Crossbow and other weapons i tried carrying around. found them pointless.
Dragon Tooth Sword - best melee weapon, need i say more? also, only underwater-capable weapon i had.
Flamethrower - kills groups of enemies easily as well as keeping you amused watching them run around in flames. specially useful with tough enemies such as them blasted creatures and MIBs.
GEP Gun - blows stuff up. mainly useful for bots and unlockable "doors" when you're low on lockpicks.
EMP Grenade - quick and easy disabling of electrical stuff. LAMs and Gas Grenades were pointless, Scramblers were useful when available.

augmentations used (NOT augmentations installed): Defaults, Microfibral Muscle, Environmental Resistance, Energy Shield, Syntethic Heart, Radar Transparency

The "bosses" (Anne, Gunther, Simon) were disappointing. They all wanted to talk to me before fighting so they all got a reply delivered by rocket (while they ran towards me). Also disappointing was that Bob wasn't the typical "final boss" that you get to kill in a firefight.

The game has 58 keys, 153 notes and 27 images.

Item Limits:
Medikit - 15
Bioeletrical Cell - 30
Multitool - 20
Lockpick - 20
Food (all types) - 10
Explosives (all types) - 10

Ammo Limits:
Plasma Clip - 84
12 Gauge Sabot Shells - 96
12 Gauge Buckshot Shells - 96
7.62x51mm Ammo - 300
30.06 Ammo - 96
Pepper Cartridge - 400
Tranquilizer Darts - 60
Darts - 60
Flare Darts - 60
Prod Charger - 40
20mm HE Ammo - 300
WP Rockets - ?
Rockets - ?
Napalm Canister - ?
10mm Ammo - 150

VersaLife's motto: Obey, Duty, Honor, Respect, Trust

That has got to the biggest Cast section I've ever seen on a game's credits!

The story is awesome. It simply is. It's also so full of lies and conspiracies, it's enough to make you suspicious of everything.

and now, for the final question of all: what am i gonna do now? :p
maybe a Deus Ex theme for xp. now just watch me try to do it and find out i don't have the skills for it and dump the project in less than a day!

So uh... which was your favourite ending?- how do i use their killswitches?

- well, the thing is, if damage is not very serious (below yellow) i ignore it. if it is (above yellow), i load and try again. so medikits were only used when i couldn't be arsed to load ;)
this also applied to ammo. saving ammo is very handy (specially rockets).

- neat mod. and lol at this: "Things I did because I could: Seagulls explode on death, similar to the way MiBs do but will less damage and a smaller blast radius"

- but it doesn't stun/zap them, it's much more fun when they're zapped :p

- Dark Age one, because 1. nobody controlling the world, 2. easiest one to get, 3. stuff blowing up! :p
though it was neat to see JC merged with the AI.

Anna - You can only get it later in the game (so you have to kill Lebedev or let her kill him). Two computers in the Surgery Station in the lower levels of UNATCO I believe. Then the next time you see her, it's a dialogue option. You say it and boom. :D

To get Gunther's you have to make Jaime stay behind at UNATCO. He meets up with you later and gives you Gunther's.

Actually the funny thing is my friends called her at the end of the year party, but didn't say I was there. They did it to scare me. Instead one of my friends said sorry for prank calling, but before he could finish another friend crabbed the phone and yelled "Sorry, we're just so horny!" It was very awkward and I'm glad she didn't know I was there. Also, I could easily get her number, it's in the school directory, but it would be odd to call her and I would not have the guts to do it in a gabizillion years.

Edit: I'm having too much fun with Guild Wars, I better put restrictions on myself or it will consume me and I promised myself to never let a game do that to me.

Go for it. Look up her number in the directory, and call her. That's exactly what I did last time I asked a girl out. Except, it was the university's directory.

What's the worst that could happen? Do it, do it, do it!

I can't. I'm too damn scared to death. And I think it would be extremely awkward for her to.
