Even then it's still fun. Particularly watching them die on the last part while you get away in the boat/helicopter/plane/truck-thing.
Or leaving them to die behind while you move on.

Although that's easier for me because I almost always play with my brother on splitscreen, and we tend to stick together. :p

Not so fun when they wander off alone, set off a car alarm and then alert the Witch.
Oh no, that isn't fun.

Although the feeling of justice is great when a hunter gets them.

Mostly because I want to get the crownd achievement, but I never manage to kill her in a single headshot. :P

It's fantastic.

96%, although I did look at the hints.

Just True Blue, Sweet Orange, Stealth Black and Too Much Free Time left.

EDIT: oh, the numbers. Should have guessed after jmtb02. Finished, with a bit of walkthroughing.

It is a stunt driving game, it says "TrackMania united" on the cover.

I have played it a bit. I cannot seem to be able to get onto the online mode as apparently there is yet another new version released. (Which I am unable to install.) and it no longer supports the version I have (Bummer)

I played the single player mode, but I have little knowledge of how to use the game, and the beggining tracks are not very long or challenging. the stunts are not exciting enough for me, but it's a decent game. (When it works.)

I'm more interested in my PC version of the original 1995/96 Formula 1 Pygnosis game. (Originaly intended for Playstation.)

Bloated yes.
I wouldn't say it's barely playable though. The gameplay aspect (i.e the parts of the game where you aren't twiddling your bloody thumbs off, due to the downright ridiculously long cutscenes) are just deceitfully average.

Also the story is just silly.

Well, my opinion in this aspect is kind of invalid, as Squirminator said, since I'm a huge fan of the Metal Gear series, so maybe it's because of that, that I like the game so much
And I like the long cutscenes too, because of the story

But if I had to choose a game to be my favorite, excluding the fact that I'm a fan or not, would be Shadow of The Colossus for PS2
Yes, now you can criticize me all you want, but to me that game is almost perfect

Despite Lost Odyssey not being that great a game in the mind of most people, it brings back memories from playing awesome RPG's on the SNES, and it has really cool looking cutscenes, great music and an enthralling story.

The Wii's already far disappointed me. I actually was kind of stoked for it when I heard of it. I gave it a few tries. Big crapfest that Nintendo merely uses their name and fanboys to pull in money. Look at it! A good half of the games look like children's games! And the graphics look like... N64. They pale in comparison to the other two consoles.

And before you think I'm a playstation fangirl I'll have you know I also own an Xbox 360 that I play when I'm actually at home so don't even try it.

The only disappointing thing about the wii is the amount of shovelware that publishers keep throwing out like pancakes. However it has it's fair share of great games, and there's no denying the charm of Wii Sports, Wii Play and more recently Wii Fit. There's a couple of potentially cool games coming this year, The Conduit and MadWorld being good examples I suppose. And Monster Hunter 3 coming sometime this year I hope.

I think I could enjoy more the Wii if it wasn't so infantile with almost every game. All the appeal is on the controlers and that's it...

Wii sports... it didn't charm me at all. And the Mii's are friggin creepy.
I'm sure it has its share of great games (as great as they get), but they don't appeal to me therefore I do not like it.
To me you're spending about $200 on a Nintendo 64 with motion sensors.

Yes it is, at least the old world content (1-60), until you reach the end game and you're raiding with 25 people on ventrilo, 50% of which are drunk. Alcohol is optional since team games are still fun, specially when they actually take some sort of skill, strategy and communication.

I played it too...

I hated the controls, but I had FUN on coop. Runing towards your partner to give him a burst of adrenaline directly to the heart before he dies is awesome.

But what I enjoyed more was that running between the "zombies" was even more effective than shooting them! In the first level, you had to survive... Or tactic was JUMPING FROM ROOFTOP TO ROOFTOP. BUT THERE ARE ONLY 3. Result: Jumping from one to another while crossing bad guys in the air, out of reach from the guy with the hugeass axe.

And the chainsaw guy in the 2nd stage? My friend simply TOOK A WALK IN FRONT OF HIM. And it kinda worked until I got chopped to death with the chainsaw :p One of the two dies, and game over for both.

Fun times...

Death tool, the one with houses and a boat at the end. I swear I didn't expect the guy inside one of the safe zones was going to become a boomer. I simply thought: "oh hey, he's letting us in! I step in, and have like a second staring at him. Then, shot him right in front of my face, calling another horde :p

But I meant with the movie thing that my scene was too... cheesy, even. I was Bill, and my friend was Zoey. It was the typical "old man sacrifices at the end to grant the success of the rest, or at least the girl".

And OH MAN! it felt good.

Well, it's specially ambiented like a movie. Even after each campaign, you see "In memory of (insert dead players here)" and then the credits roll. Also, the movie posters for each campaign, and the soundtrack looking totally ripped from a zombie movie. Iv'e discovered that TrackMania (Now availible on DS by the way) is very similar to a game from 2000 that I have called "Lego Stunt Rally" Difference is:

A: Stunt rally is based on Lego, where trackmania is real.
B: The track editor in TM is more advanced than LSR, though very similar.
C: TM focuses on driving the car, in LSR you can only change lane and speed.
D: TM has a bigger fan_base and is more popular.
E: TM has massive online capabilities. LSR offers two people playing on a small track using opposite ends of the keyboard.
F: TM offers a vast amount of cars, LSR offers around 12.
G: LSR is more nostalgic, and has actual characters and a (Sort of) storyline, where Trackmania is more about driving circuits.
H: The Annoying Mr X. from Lego Stunt Rally Can't bug me in Trackmania. :)
I: TM has waaaay better graphics.
J: TM is extremely hard at times, where Stunt Rally can be easy as pie.
K: LSR has better music that speeds up on the last lap. :)

E: Chess has massive online capabilities. Draughts probably does too, but can also be played with two people sitting around one board. So can Chess.

Yeah, that's the only drawback that MMV4 has: there's no tank and boat levels.
I really liked drifting over water lilly leaves in MMV3.

Unlocked cars were not really useful in MMV4 though. They were simply re-paints with identical specs, so they were only good for visuals to more easily identify your car in the heat of the battle in multiplayer games.
Also, the online car trading/keeping feature isn't secure and since there's a hacked 100% savegame available, which seemingly everyone uses, it's completely obsolete.

I'd really like to see a new MMV5 game though, which brings back tanks, boats and maybe some other new vehicle types with distinct features.
And the online vehicle trading has to be secure and server-side with accounts.
The game should also have more tracks. I didn't like that certain themes only had one track.

More realistic car physics would be good too. Nothing beats the physics of Re-Volt!

Mario Kart Wii, again. Because my friend got a Wii and is supremely addicted to it. AND THAT SOUNDS LIKE A CHALLENGE!

I've now very nearly unlocked everything - just the two secret Bowsers left to unlock. Also: the Nitrocycle/Sneakster is really friggin' good for an automatic driver like me! It's got the second best speed stat and a reasonably good acceleration rate too boot - faster than both the Mach Bike and the Flame Runner/Bowser Bike! The problem that normally hits people is that it has a rather low drift and mini-turbo score; which is why it can only be used properly in automatic.

Yes, you heard me, I play automatic. With the wheel, too! Gosht!

Vader
27 Feb 2009, 14:08
I like Bowser on the Twilight Star or Baby Luigi in the Concerto. I play Manual with the Classic Controller. Proper.

I know of 2 Bowsers, Bowser and Dry Bowser (Dry Bowser being unlockable). Who's the 2nd "secret Bowser"?

Also, the Bowser bike is brilliant in Manual. It has inward drift so you can hammer it round tracks which more than compensates for the low mini-turbo. From what recall of what I've seen, most of the records have been set with Funky Kong on the Bowser Bike.

My advice: Learn to powerslide or GTFO.

Bowser Jr.

It's great for time trials, but it's low acceleration, handling and off-road stat makes it a less-than-great bike for regular matches. The Bullet Bike and Mach Bike are much better for those.

Vader
27 Feb 2009, 14:32
Oh yeah, Bowser Jr. I always call him Kid Koopa for some reason.

Anyway, shouldn't he be calld Baby Bowser? He was in Yoshi's Island (or was it 2?).

The Bowser Bike's acceleration does suck, I'll give you that. It's not bad online, though. You can win a good few races with it if you play defensively and really push your boosts.

I'm more of an outy-drift kind of a guy, anyway.

I think I need to unlock Toadette, Birdo, Dry Bowser, maybe Daisy and the 2nd Mii outfit. I'm not that bothered since I have character/vehicle combos I like but I wouldn't mind getting to see how Dry Bowser plays - I don't know how interchangeable he is with Bowser but if it's a straight 1:1 conversion then I do need Dry Bowser.

Plasma
27 Feb 2009, 15:34
Actually, Bowser and Dry Bowser have completely different stats. As a general rule:

Kart | Class ------|Drf|Sp|Wt|Ac|Hn|Dr|Of|MT
---------------------
Bowser ----| Heavy | 2 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 0 | 0
---------------------
Dry Bowser | Heavy | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 6 | 6

But, it does depends on what vehicle you're using for the actual stat difference.

Vader
27 Feb 2009, 15:38
Drift, Speed, Weight, Acceleration, Handling, Drift (again), Off-Road, Mini-Turbo?

Is Drf drafting? I'm assuming Dr isn't short for Driving.

edit: Oh wait, there are two drift stats, one for in/out, the other is the stat itself... but you omitted the in/out column from what I can see

It looks like Dry Bowser sucks a bit.

Yeah, forgot to remove the first 'drift' column. Characters don't have an in/out, only the vehicles do.

Different characters have different stats? I didn't know that.
There's a very slight change in stats depending on the character
For example, compare the above character stats to the Standard Kart M, which has roughly 36 points in each stat, on the same scale!

I always pick Wario on the Wario bike, anyways. Works fantastically, but you have to start drifting quite a lot before the curves.
Wario + Wario Bike actually works really well, because Wario's large mini-boost bonus really compliments the bike's slow speed but steady handling. Also note that that's a really heavy combo too; bash as many people as you can for exta fun!

That's quite interesting... I'll try to look into those boosts sometime. I actually played Mario Kart today, and I remembered something funny about the Bike: Since you take corners so wide, there's a bigger chance of knocking people out of the track, considering the bike is heavy by itself.

Didn't work out too well this time, though, I kept hitting teammates out in a team game D:

Ehh... after some searching I found out that the guy from Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story are the same guy. How does that work?

nfact, most people still wrongly identify him as “Baby Bowser.” I used to regularly make this mistake until recently; however, if you still do, you’re really not far off mark. Allow me to elaborate on the origins of this pest. First came along Yoshi’s Island, probably one of the best Mario platformers in its own right. With it came the whole baby character versions of the characters we’re already familiar with. That’s all well and good, and I actually enjoyed seeing the baby form of Bowser as a villain to our non-mustachioed Mario. But hold on, a light bulb went off over in Nintendo HQ and they saw the whole “cute” aspect of Mario blow wide open as a potential marketing draw. Lo and behold, Baby Bowser made another appearance in Yoshi’s Story.

I have two versions of Ocarina of Time and Majoras mask for my GameCube. I have the Zelda collection game (I had to get three issues of Nintendo Power for it) and on the bonus disk on Wind Waker, though that might just be Ocarina of Time. In any case, it's annoying since the save games don't work cross-disk. So I've gotten about half way through the games on both..

I think the Ocarina which came with Wind Waker is the Master Quest edition and has extra bits and bobs (dungeons) or something, so it would make sense that the save files are compatible.

Have some 100% FACT:

Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocarina_of_Time)... Huhuhuhuhuh
The game had four major rereleases on the Nintendo GameCube and Wii consoles. It was ported to the GameCube as part of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Master Quest (ゼルダの伝説 時のオカリナ 裏 ,Zeruda no Densetsu Toki no Okarina Ura?, 裏 (Ura) meaning reverse side), featuring reworked dungeons with new puzzles, and The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition compilations as a direct port. It was also ported to the iQue Player in 2003 and the Wii's Virtual Console service in 2007.

I wouldn't say 'all-new dungeons' as they're pretty much the same layout but with the enimes and puzzles mixed up a bit. (and cows in the fish dungeon for some reason). It's more like an official ROMhack.

The bonus disc that came with WW had both the master quest and the original OOT, which is theonly duplicate game on the collectors edition disc.

Found that game called Space Phallus a few weeks ago, and I'm still trying to get a good highscore. It's a classic retro space shooter, but with evil space phalluses, which make it more awesome than anything else.
Also with something that seriously looks like a human, naked and pixellated version of Pigbuster as the final boss, which makes it even more awesome. (won't post a picture of it because it's seriously disturbing, and I don't want to spoil it to those who may want to try the game)

Seriously, if you have nothing against a game filled with badly drawn, flying phalluses, you should check it out (http://www.charliesgames.com/wordpress/?page_id=65), it's a great timewaster.
