Where all these vending machines are being stored is a mystery to you, as they are all the same size.

Eventually, I manage to stop the loop by inserting a coin into a machine before it gets eaten. The recursion halts, but instead...

A load of scientific jargon appears including E=MC2, and then a black hole appears, sucking the vending machines, you, the Earth and eventually the whole universe and the supreme being into it, putting them into a parallel universe as an infinetely long piece of string.

There is no Vending Machine left, therefore no-one can put anything into it.
