It always go first left to right and then top to bottom... so you would naturally read the left one before anything else.

1. Draw the first character to speak wherever you like.
2. Draw a speechbubble wherever you like.
3. Write the dialogue in it.
4. Draw the next character to speak wherever you like.
5. Draw a speechbubble wherever you like.
6. Write the dialogue in it. (If you have trouble fitting it in, use abbreviations like "lol" and remember the boundaries of the speechbubble should be considered a guideline only.)
7. Repeat steps 4-6 with each character in the scene, and steps 5-6 with each line of dialogue. (Do not be tempted to go onto a second frame unless there is some action, as this will mean redrawing the characters.)
8. Only attempt to colour the scene if antialiasing has been used. This gives a cool "glow" effect to your lines.
9. Do not fill the insides of letters such as O, Q, or D.
10. Your characters should be questing as slowly as possible for a very powerful weapon of the form "The [adjective] [noun]".

I don't have a problem with how Aku orders his speech most of the time. I tend to focus more on up and down than left to right, probably because I read both eastern and western comics.

In that post you just told how you were doing it... at any time you said something like "it's wrong but i like it", "i won't change it, go eat dirt" or whatsoever. So i posted an alternative and said at the bottom pretty clearly: "It's just a suggestion, it's your comic anyway....".

Yup. A suggestion, is where you suggest something you think will improve this comic. A fuss is wher you start labelling the comics and moving the test around, when we all understood what you meant in the first place.

There's no "system" that works for everyone -- it depends on the sizes and shapes of the speech bubbles as well as their positions. If they're tall speech bubbles people will tend to read across them. If they're short, wide ones people will tend to read down them. It's these pesky square-ish ones Aku will insist on using that can get confused. Personally I try to use short wide bubbles arranged on top of each other. That's almost foolproof -- it reads like a paragraph with circles drawn over bits of it -- but it relies on using actual bubbles, which would look a bit odd in Aku's style. Error404's reordered version of the comic was clearer, as the first line of dialogue was always above and to the left of the second, but really you'd want to swap the characters around rather than using all those crossover lines.

I liked his suggestion of using huge red numbers behind the text, though. I think you should do that in future. :p

You're entirely right here... it doesn't work on cases with a lot of worms on the frame, indeed... i didn't think of that. Better stick to the old system or find a different one that use the "standart" bubbles order and does not end up like this... if we ever find one... until there...go ahead with your current system... or use the big numbers if you like... it's not a big issue afterall... it's not like you're drawing bananas or poops instead of worms like some other people do... :p:D
