Is it some sort of hidden mysterious secret unwritten rule that every comicer in a relationship eventually has to poke fun at it / make a reference to it / include his partner just for the sake of it even though there's hardly any relation between which and the comic's topic even though what the topic of a forum comic is may be debatable but in any case one would suppose it would have something to do with forum members even though in this case your partner is a registered but rather inactive member of the forum but in any case one has to consider if one's relationship is any reason to make fun of in which case one could consider why he got one in the first place other than gratuitous reasons plus poking fun at one's relationship may cause future degradation purely for the fun of others which might also mark that person as rather sad if he is willing to possibly jeopardize his personal life purely for the sake of other's amusement even though amusement is debatable since such a topic has already been way over done but there may still be people finding it fun possibly because they do not have a relationship themselves otherwise they'd possibly just be realizing how true it may be and how sad their own relationships may actually be if there's reasons to poke fun at them but usually all is forgotten due to gratuitous reasons unless one's relationship is strong enough to withstand such amusement or on the contrary sad enough that no gratuitous reasons actually take place in which case one's relationship might actually be in danger of ending unless of course no gratuitous motives are required to continue said relationship which still poses as a mystery to many but may actually be possible if all the required circunstances are met in which case someone should probably write a book about it if they know said requirements to help others in need but then again most people are selfish even though the fact that money is involved could probably change that but then again many things are relative and not all may be explained with things as simple as words but may require more deep mysterious knowledge which is hard to acquire but still some manage to get there but... what was I talking about again? wow! that was both long-winded AND pointless. it started getting less and less sensible as the paragraph went on...good job!:D
but yeah, reading WAAAAAAAY too much into that one. my comics have always involved mystery. she was added in the original comic about half way through or so, after bobb and jerry were added. it's not that I'm adding her to this one because I had a joke to do with her, she's already been in this one and she was a part of the last series so including her is just as sensible as including anyone else.
and I wasn't poking fun at my relationship either. I was poking fun at the date more than anything. she was involved simply because it's the most humiliating thing I could think of to end the events before it. my statement in my post was also made jokingly and I actually hope she reads it just so she can get a giggle out of it. :p

alright, this one may need a bit of explaining.
me and cyclaws were playing BattleField 2 today, and one round, the game depopulated pretty severely, so everyone just decided to goof off a bit while trying to complete the objective as best they could. I decided to join up as the commander for my team. cyclaws was the most effective person on the opponents team, and as such I spent much of the time trying to off him as best I could...doing so involved dropping a LOT of buggies on top of his head while he was in the middle of nowhere.
as a side note, there were a few particularly humerous parts of that fight, including one where cyclaws took off in a helicopter as I dropped a car on top of him. he gets a few feet in the chopper and then the buggie starts to drag him down and eventually cyc and his copilot exploded with NO idea what happened. I sat back and laughed my ass off for a few minutes at the complete luck and absurdity of the whole thing. :)

The only thing that I find could be improved in that comic. is that the last frame should have zoomed out a bit more. Otherwise, nicely done!
That reminds me of a time when I was playing:

That buggy looks like crap, but I'll give you credit for trying. :p
Me and helicopters don't really have a good history on BF2. Either:
- I lose control of the thing and either go offlimits and die or just crash somewhere random.
- If I try to leave the helicopter in mid-air, it usually lands right on top of me.
- If I try to land the helicopter and leave, someone blows it up right in my face.

example of his laziness: he works as a night-shift valet in the local casino. most people on that shift in that department get something like $60-$80 a night in tips. duncan, on the other hand, is happy getting 20.
example 2: if you remember back to my original forum comics you may remember a comic in which the room was filled with poisonous gas and aku refused to get up because he was too lazy to go somewhere he could breathe.....that story was based on duncan and his unwillingness to leave a room filling with toxic odors after he has just sat back down from getting a drink. his excuse for not leaving was, as the comic states: "screw that! I pretty much gave up B+W 1 because the last level was so damn hard. You started out on a crappy island without any trees, and I couldn't do CRAP to build houses, let alone enough food to actually get people to worship me, rather than hiding around the area because I couldn't give the worshippers food.
And not only that, but the first town had crappy miracles, too. I don't think I had a food OR wood miracle.

You ever tried B&W1 multiplayer? It was the most fulfilling experience of my life.
In my first online game, we had the max number of players (forgot what it is). One of the players basically doesn't have a life, so he has a 100% everything creature, which goes into each player's area and cast that "killer whoopass no chance to survive meteor strike" miracle so that the game's over in a few minutes.
Or that was the fact that for some stupid reason they decided to store savegames in the game folder but creature stats in the registry, so that when I reinstalled my computer, I found out I had an useless creature on one of the last missions.
Well, I could go on forever ranting about how B&W was a great concept but pulled off really badly. So I'll just let this comic/news do half my work: http://biggercheese.com/index.php?comic=590

I hated Black and White 2 and I had been waiting for its release for years. There's no skirmish, just 6 easy levels. It really is pointless. I finished the game before I'd learnt everything about it. Just to put the easiness into context: On the last level I was volcanoed. I retaliated (or tried) - I didn't know how to use it and couldn't put it far outside my ring so I tried to throw it. Yes, I volcanoed myself. And I still won the final level.

I was hoping there would be some sort of something somewhere along the lines to let me continue. this game actually seems like it would be fun to play on skirmish since you'd actualyl have to use strategy (unlike 90% of other RTS games where it's "build 500 tanks. send them to opponent base. win. repeat")

Oh, and the game seriously couldn't tell the difference between petting and smacking. I tried to smack him for being stupid and ended up with "Your creature will now eat poop more often".

You did remember that you can force-feed your creature something by rubbing it's stomach? :D
Reading those little notices can really help in the game.Yes. He still wouldn't eat it.

Yes. He still wouldn't eat it.
Ya, that tip never worked. I would keep trying and the beast just wouldn't it, at which point I would proceed to smack it to hell.

You have to rub his stomach until it says that you're calling him a "Good boy!".
So, PET his stomach, really.
If that was what you were doing, then I guess that your creature must be a "special" creature.

I kept petting his stomach, but the bast just wouldn't eat, honestly.
Just to let everyone know, I think Black & White 2 is horrible and cry everytime I remember the money I spent on it. Thank you for your time.
I found it quite enjoyable yet ultimately a bit disappointing.
I am currently playing through Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon. I'm enjoying it so far.

Thank you for your time.care to elaborate? it's apparently not as good as the original by some large margin, but it's hardly tear-worthy. it's actually a really good RTS if you can ignore the glitches and stupidity tossed in everywhere.

I stopped playing on the first 'proper' level, when I realised I wasn't having any fun. Plus the AI annoyed me. Why did it keep sending out small bands of soldiers just to have them trampled on by my ape? Building towns was also boring as heck. And I never warmed up to my creature like in the first game. Perhaps if I'd stuck with it, I would have grown to like the game, or maybe the RTS genre just isn't for me. I don't know.
Oh, and the game isn't tear-worthy. It's spending 50 Euro on a game and then never playing it that makes me so sad.

Do yourself a favour:
Try and complete the first level using an army!
When you face up against a large army rather than small platoons, you'll realise that it's harder than you think!
(especially in the later levels, when they send in 200 elite warriors into your base at a time)
If you can ignore the glitches and stupidity tossed in everywhere.
Actually, what stupid things and glitches were there? The only one I can remember is that the creature can trip over rocks and damage himself.

I might just do that. Gotta finish the other 7 games I'm currently playing first of course (I'm beginning to reconsider not liking short games), but after that I might just give B&W2 another chance.
I may not have spent my 50 Euro in vain, yet!

Actually, what stupid things and glitches were there? The only one I can remember is that the creature can trip over rocks and damage himself.well, there's the fact that troops occassionally just walk straight through a wall if it's built on the wrong angle or something (haven't quite figured out why or when they do it, just that they do). my pet seems to find things impossible to get to unless I sit there and lead him point by point instead of just clicking where I want him to go (and no, this isn't for any place that's behind anything or along a very dynamic course) or how about attacking with the creature, which causes him to either stop what he's doing and.....continue stopping until I tell him to do something else....and the fact that holes seem to appear randomly in my fields for no reason.
don't get me wrong, they're not all that annoying and I can get around them easily enough, but it's still somewhat aggrivating at times.
oh, and vmanc, you should try the levels after that one. they continue to use small platoons, but they start hording large amounts of those small platoons. I'm on the second japanese level right now and I'm having to use hurricane after hurricane to deplete the enemy forces because I can't get nearly strong enough an army to send in and hope to stand any sort of chance doing so.
