how on earth is Rayman Raving Rabbids obscure?! it's been released for damn near every platform if NOT every platform. just about anyone who could even consider themselves even a light gamer is going to know of the game if you talk about it, and most will have played it. hell, I've heard random people at work who don't play video games talking about the game.

it'd be like calling War of the Worlds an obscure book title....

It probably depends on wether he has never heard of rayman before, in which case he has been living under a mountain, or just not heard of that one game before, which is entirely possible even though it has been released on a every gaming platform made. I only have a vague recollection of something on the internet about it.

5/10. Can't actually remember much about it, therefore it didnt catch my eye enough to deserve a nice rating.

It doesn't for certain avs, such as Paul's, but it does for ads that seem to be nearly random, like yours.

It also does for when you want people to continuously rate your avs.

Possibly. But even so, a lot of people will say that an avatar is 'old', even if it's only been used for a month. People seem to have the idea that an avatar should, generally, be constantly updated and new and fresh.

And besides, why should an avatar's rating drop dramtically with age?

1 month or two is still a bit old when the avatar was only attractive in the first place by general randomness.
