Found one of the first reviews for Worms Collection (http://blog.fancensus.com/worms-collection-review/). The game came out today in the UK. Seems to enjoy it but felt that Worms and Worms 2 were too similar to have in a package.

Still deciding whether to get this. I really want it but don't have the money right now. Would love to get some multiplayer sessions going.

Since Worms and Worms 2 are really essentially the same game and if you are not much interested in the 3D game you could actually purchase the downloadable version of Worms 2 only and save the money you don't have.

I mean, just a tip.. I don't know what you are looking to get from the package, if you dislike downloadable games or want to get both Worms 2 and Mayhem you don't have a choice I guess :)

Same. I remember a friend of mine asking whether to go for the Worms Collection or Worms Reloaded. I told him that Reloaded was essentially the complete version of two of those games and Ultimate Mayhem was actually worse than Worms 3D. If it's a console buy I'd say just get Worms 2 Armageddon or at least avoid the original Worms.

Worms 2 is a pretty good game, with a completely crazy amount of customisation. It definitely has its merits that even Armageddon still lacks, but as an overall game, Armageddon is better. The original is, well, the original; likely to be good for nostalgia reasons more than anything. Worms 3D isn't bad - it has a few issues but that's to be expected, and all in all, I think it was a pretty good leap into 3D. I still prefer the 2D games, but taken as a game in its own right, it's not bad. I still prefer Worms 4 Mayhem as best in the 3D series, though, and I can't pass judgement on WUM but I've heard it's just W4M + glitches.

But whatever, Reloaded is overall not as good as any of the 2nd-gen Worms games, speaking personally here ;)

What Thurbo said. Worms 2 Armageddon pretty much makes Worms completely redundant, and while Worms Ultimate Mayhem is the best 3D game, it's not worth getting if you didn't like W3D or already have Worms 4.

That being said, if you don't have W2:A (or Worms Reloaded) already, and haven't tried a 3D Worms game yet, then I'd recommend it.

I can't help but notice that you have no idea what we're talking about.

Sorry! The OP mentioned Worms 2, I assumed it was the real Worms 2 rather than W2A ;)
