I've seen that, too, but what about the original Worms and Worms Blast? Do they feature online play? If not there isn't really a need for me to buy it, still playing Worms United and The Director's Cut using emulators...

The three retro games are just like they were years ago. And I gotta say, the Pinball one is a real addictive one.

I played Pinball with my father 3 years ago, I still have the disc around here somewhere, I love that game.
BTW I love the pack.

Worms pinball do is a great game, and well worth the 5.99$ price. Even though there is only one table, physics and design are great (even to nowadays standards) and the game is highly adictiv.

As for worms sold at 5.99, I'll spare you my opinion as I might become vulgar toward (new) T17. Same goes for worms blast at such a price...

New T17, again, I certainly hope you guys are milking the franchises in order to get some cash for R&D and will surprise us with a real new worms in the near future.
(and yea, worms crazy golf do is a new game, that looks actually fun! Will tell you more after I buy it)

EDIT: just saw the mayhem+golf pack (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/11909/) ,would rather buy that + pinball (wich I, hey, probably will shortly).

"Release W:A on Steam", they said. "Nobody would complain about that", they said.

Worms Pinball is an awesomely addictive game and everyone should get it. Worms Blast is fun if you can get a friend to hotseat with, but the singleplayer is fairly meh. And Worms is... well, worms. :p

A shame these weren't advertised more, it's a pretty sweet deal.

I got Worms Pinball with Worms Blast years ago. And yes, it was quite the best PC pinball game I ever played :D

Worms Blast never had network play. Only 2-player offline.

As for Worms United:
The game comes pre-packaged with DOSBox and configuration files.

During the beta test I fiddled around with DOSBox' IPX emulation and I think I have properly set up a configuration file that will work with Worms United's original IPX server/client system.

Once I have the game I would like to try this out! :D

To be honest we didn't want to make a big deal about these games coming out, for us its a case of seeing if we can get some of the older titles out there in one place (steam) and to see if there is an appetite for the older games still.

Bonz if you manage to get that working, I will be happy to spread the word (unofficially of course) :)

I know, but neither had Worms United, or did it? Anyway it would have been a nice treat to have these games coming with an online mode :)

I imagine the codebases are way too old to be adding major functionalities like online, at least they managed to bugfix them enough to still work on modern systems.

I know, but neither had Worms United, or did it? Anyway it would have been a nice treat to have these games coming with an online mode :)Worms United had LAN play and DOSBox lets you turn that into online but it's very fickle.

Oh, I almost forgot...
Do this games come with higher resolutions? Since no Worms game except newer ones had support for high resolutions... :P

I've never seen any lan option in Worms United. How's it possible to turn that on if you were playing on Windows 95, for example?

Nope, Worms is an old 320x200 DOS game, the rest will only run at 1024x768 at most.

It just needs a IPX network driver installed and you use MULTI.BAT to play. There are more details in DOCS\NETINFO.TXT.

Will do.

Worms Reinforcments as well as Worms United supported IPX, modem and null-modem play via separate batch files that launched the executable with the respective parameters and settings.

You can, if you feel like it, fiddle with DOSBOX's scaling options to try and make it look like a higher resolution. hq2x,hq3x,hq4x (and so on) are very nice scaling algorithms to use, but can be slow at very high resolutions on older/low-power machines.

I was tempted to get the pack, but the pricing of it makes no sense. I already own all Worms titles already, many of them multiple times, why are they ar £5 each? With Worms golf at £6, having the pack at a tenner would have been a gaurenteed get, where it was I just got Worms Golf and had a look to see if any of them were available for a good price individually, I was expecting maybe £2, but at 5 its just not a n impulse buy.

I've seen this "wormnet.txt" file in the folders once, I believe they gave instructions about how to set up a lan game. I'll check for that.

Right, it's like a downloadable re-release and I already own these games too. If they'd have added online multiplayer support they'd have been an instant buy to me :(
