Sorry if this is being repeated.

My friend and I used to play worms for hours on end years ago and now we both own a PS3 so we both purchased Worms PSN to relive some of the fun.

We started trying to play the game online and after 15 minutes of trying to connect gave up and decided to start looking for answers on google. It appears its a common problem with many reasons being put forward by various gamers. We decided to have another crack at it and after about half an hour of stuffing around managed to get a game up and running. Once we got the game started there were no problems at all and we played out the matches.

Is it going to be fixed? Some are blaming the Team17 servers? I ask the questions because I was about 1 connection attempt away from emailing PSN to get a refund and have the game removed from my PSN account and I'm probably not the only one. Would be a shame if others give up on this classic game due to similar experiences.

It's not a case of a device having ports, its the fact that the device uses them.

Well, the ports listed are open and still I have problems with the game not starting, or freezing and disconnecting, at least half the time. It gets stuck on the "waiting for other players" message and starts dropping people. Since it seems pretty unlikely that this will get patched again, can anyone think of anything else that might help?

I have a highspeed broadband connection (wired), and I've already switched to a supposedly more reliable dns server, if that helps at all.

hey man, jamisdiablo here (I been playing a lot of worms on PS3 lately). This is the team17 servers acting up is all. happens a lot, usually pretty sporadic and just gotta keep trying over and over and you'll get a game going. Sure they're working on it.

Know it's their end issue cause 4 or 5 other online games I play work flawlessly almost always so believe it's server issues on their end, or the game has trouble solidly connecting four lines across the globe. Bummer, but once it is running well the game plays terrifically!

Yeah, it must be the servers or the game itself, but I highly doubt they're working on it. Pretty sure they're done with this game and/or any support for it. :/
