Hey All,

Anyone else not like the way the rankings work? From what I can tell, you get points based on the amount of damage done in a round, plus maybe a bonus if you win? If anyone knows for sure, please post.

The pro leader boards are pretty much worthless because of this system. The current leader is horrible and probably couldn't place very well on the beginner board. He usually just kicks anyone good from his hosted game, or quits two minutes into a game after playing horrible.

The problem with the ranking system is that he was able to shoot up 70k points in about 2 weeks, and it sure isn't from winning against anyone trying to fight back.

I'd like to see a major stats overhaul where we could see stats about every game, opponent, number of wins/losses (and who those were against), etc. Then have some new algorithm to come up with a ranking system that actually reflects skill and not how much you play or boost your way to the top.

Anyone else annoyed with the ranking system?

What annoys me is that I consider myself to be a good player (not the best, but good). But because ranking points are only counted at the END of a match, I seldom get any.

If I'm winning a match, and the loser bails, I expect some points darnit!

I understand why you can't penalise someone in case they've innocently, coincidentally disconnected at a certain point yet again, but you should at least award something to the player who did stay, even if it's less than s/he would have gotten for winning the round.

If there was some sort of incentive to stay in a match even when you're losing (i.e. if there was a massive points difference between winning and loser, with the loser still gaining points), it would dramatically cut bad sportsmanship.

It'd be nice if they showed the number of games played along with the wins/losses, and number of disconnects. You could get a rough idea of who the shady players are from that.

That...

Actually, that'd work pretty well, come to think about it.

Yep, that'd work. And maybe list the number of worms killed/lost as well?
Should be easy to work out a simple and fair points system based on that info
