OK, this is pretty much a direct request towards team 17.

American account, bought and downloaded the game upon day of release, still playing version 1.00. Where is this patch that I keep hearing of randomly? Some people say it's just UK, some people say I have to redownload the entire game, but I'd like to hear the full story from someone who actually knows what the deal is.

Buy the game on a disc from Team17's shop. It's dirt cheap, and you get to use the patches.

He's talking about Worms PSN, not W:A. Worms PSN, as the name suggests, is a PlayStation®Network game, meaning it is digitally distributed only.

From the looks of your avatar I think it's safe to assuming you are familiar with XBLA; PSN is the PlayStation®3 version of that.

The problem he is writing about is that some people have been prompted to download version 1.01 of the game, whereas others have not. Guyren would like clarification on the availability of version 1.01.

From what I can tell, there won't be a 1.01 for the US. This fix and others will be included in 1.02 or whatever version they call the next update.

This first patch for eurozone is for fixing the crash bug when searching for games in the front end. Apologies to our American cousins but sony USA and sony Europe do things a bit differently re patch submissions so your patch has a small delay. It will probably coincide with another euro patch that addresses even more network issues (drop outs, 4 player voice chat* etc)


One thing to note for US/European users - we have different submissions for these and the patches need to be different. We can't update one version with exploit fixes until both versions can go out in synch. This is actually quite a task given different testing/submission/certification timings and groups... but we're on with it. Priority updates for network fixes are on the way in all territories and as soon as the Aussie board rates the game we'll get it in there (they're dragging their feet).

Did the 1.01 that was released allow 4 player chat again?

I think 1.01 was just meant to fix crashes when searching. I haven't tried it myself since I originally got the game from the US store. They are working on fixing 4 player chat but I don't know if they will succeed.
