In the Game Worms Open Warfare 2 there are 2 things which decides the game:

1. Quitter
2. Bad Luck

How you play thats not important because quitter will quit, and when if somenone does not quit he has luck.
THAT is worms and thats because i HATE it, but i play it although

If I first played Worms 2 on PSP on wormnet I had exactly the same opinion like you. I stopped playing worms for a while, because almost every game came "Session not longer available", that was sooo frustating (gibts das auf englisch :D ).
But after some more games and good buddies, I played many great matches and became one of the best worms players on PSP.
There was a time, that many people don´t want to play against me ;)

But now, there a many good players on worms...

My name in the DS Version is THE MASTERS. in the afternoon of today i was really frustrated because of those luck games-.- im playing now 222h. sometimes i like worms, for example in race, theres no luck, there only counts how good you are, but in deathmatch its very often luck which decides the game. after all im on place 4 but that didn't go so fast, but with the time youre getting better. First I was better than etwas (he's rank 1), but now he's better, i think its because of his long playing time (around 700h, thats nearly a whole month o_O).
