As this is my first post here, I would like to say hello to the community and to Team 17 members, whose games, specially the Worms series, I've been happily playing since the 16 bit times.

I created this thread to promote the Clanbase Ladder that I just opened for voting for Worms Open Warfare 2.

If you're not familiar with Clanbase, it's one of the world's most important (probably the most important) competitive gaming community, where official competitions, tourneys and ladders for several games are held. With 1.9 million registered players and 248.000 clans, it's the place to go if you want to start playing competitively.
Traditionally, the ladders were meant for PC games, specially FPS's and RTS's, but recently Clanbase started accepting petitions for other formats.

I took the time to create a request for a Worms Open Warfare 2 ladder. All of us now by now the competition qualities of the Worms games. There was a recent petition for a Worms Armaggedon ladder, but it was refused due to its age and OS compatibility issues. With the release of Worms Open Warfare 2 for NDS and PSP, with it's great online functionalities, we have all the requirements to start a ladder on Clanbase and start some serious playing.

I believe this would also be on Team 17's best interest, as it would mean a great recognition of the Worms series as a classic online game, and would make its community even bigger and active.

For those who are asked about a clan when they try to vote for the ladder, all you have to do is create one with your nick. Basicaly, as the games will be played 1vs1, you will be the clan.

Clanbase is very demanding when accepting requests for new ladders, so we really need more players to sign it. If you can contact other active players and send them the link, we will have more chances of the petition to be accepted.

I suspect it may need more than 7 signatures:)

Yes, unfortunately, at this point, the petition will most likely be denied... I really thought the game would have a more active community, only 7 players won't be enough...
