OK, im going to go straight to the point.......... While playing i noticed that when people*cough cough* SONIC, Fabien, Crazy French Team disconnect on me. i get a disconnect as you can see on the disconnect leaderboards the sore losers have given me alot. also, it makes my ranking go seriously down. i was on 40 earlier and now i am on 47. would anyone tell me why? and has anyone else also experienced anything like this. DISCONNECTING IS ANNOYING AND GETTING BORING

Now I'm pretty new to this game, but from what I've seen, your rank doesn't go down directly if you get disconnected on. You probably lost those 7 ranks because other people are playing ahead of you.

But other than that, all DS games suffer from d/cs, and you just have to deal with it. Usually if you get d/ced on you can google the person's username and track them down.

On the DS, ranking does go down if you get disconnected in the first round (I think the penalty applies to both players). My rank has gone up after someone disconnected in round 2 or 3, so it can credit you for the first round win.

So if you win the first round and some sore loser disconnects you LOSE ranking? if this is the case the games going on ebay.

In my experience of the game, not ALL people disconnect just a few sore losers so i dont think you should give away the game just because of them.

LineWalker is a sore loser, how did he even get to be ranked 1? This system doesn't make sense to me. Is it calculated by total games played versus w/l ratio or something?

On the DS version, if you win the 1st round and your opponent disconnects in the 2nd round, you usually gain points (get the win).

Woah, woah, wait a sec...

I haven't played this game for months, seriously. I just came back to have a look at the boards, expecting to see a whole new top 10, and instead I see some guy talking trash about me, and even writing it in his quote?

When I did play this game, I lost lots of times, and every time I'd go down fighting, but let the winner take their points. I even talked about it in some of the threads when people first started talking about DC's. There were a few times when I was disconnected due to net problems, but this wasn't by choice.

I don't mind people talking smack, it's all part of the game. But I think you're a bit confused here, especially since I haven't played since around October. If you have played a "LineWalker" who disconnected on you recently, it sure as hell wasn't me. I have a total of 21 DC's, which is actually a lot higher than I'd like, but it's a lot lower than a few of the other guys in the top 10.

I totally agree that DC's suck. It really messed with me when I was trying to move up the ranks. There were some guys who would beat you in one game, then when you got a replay in the next match, would DC if they started to lose, no honour there at all.

AweFab, what's your Team Name? And when was the last time "we played"?

Edit: AweFab, I just saw in another thread (The DC thread) Wormetti pointed out that there are multiple LineWalkers. I would guess that you played one of them rather than me. I don't know if you can check someones friend code when playing them, but mine is 3265-2741-6144. If you can find a way to check after the match, you'll see it's not me.

What really sucks is if people are DCing in my name, if I ever come back to play this, I fully expect everyone to DC on me to "Pay me back"! :-(

Gotta stick up for LineWalker, though I think I've only played him once or twice. If you check the leaderboards on the worms OW2 chatroom at gtamp.com/worms/, you're given a numerical breakdown of the overall rankings. Having been in the top ten before, I've seen my own score go up and down based on winning and losing games (it helps to see the scoring for those times when you win but it doesn't look like you rank up--you just didn't score enough to pass the guy ahead of you). I've also noted that LW's score hasn't changed in *ages*, so if he's saying he hasn't played in a while then I'd be inclined to believe him.

There's nothing saying, however, that he's not playing under a different alias, nor that someone else isn't using the LW name as their own handle. But one can't control that kind of thing.

I also concur w/ Wormetti re: improving ranks in an win-1st-round, get-DC'd-on-2nd situation. DCs during the 1st round, however, will hurt, though you don't get penalized w/ a DC stat for it. It's a good idea to keep an eye on your stats if you start seeing lots of ppl dc'ng on you--it may not be their fault.

Thanks Oya, nice to know not everyone's a critic. I've not been playing under a different alias, and I'll be able to show that if I come back - my score should start changing again when I start losing a few matches.

After reading some of these threads, I actually went on and played some random matches cos I had the fever again...4 matches, 3 disconnects, 2 on the first turn...can't remember any names, and they weren't ranked, so doesn't really matter I guess.

Looks like I'm 3rd now anyway, so I guess Awefab will have to change his sig after all ;)

If someone D/Cs on the game after one that you won, you get the win. If they D/C on the first game, you move down in the rankings. HOWEVER, if you play again and win, you'll move way up. So don't shut your DS off after you get D/Ced on lol.

That's true, a lot of people disconnect when they loose. 50% of the time, it happens. Today, I won once but the guy disconnected, and I lost some places... Very upseting

Yeah, 50% seems like a pretty high percentage, but, the more I play lately, it seems like it's true. It's really been ****ing me off. I don't care too much where I'm ranked, but it gets under my skin when I play one guy after another and each one quits as soon as they realize they're gonna have to actually work for a win. What's the point in even playing online if you don't want want a challenge?

Now, I can't win places anymore. I won 5 times in 5 match today. The guys have ALL disconnect before the end of the 2nd round, I was 250, I m now...750!!!!!:mad: Unbelievable. 5 wins= -500 places. F****!!!:mad: I tried to do the same thing, I lost 80 places!!! How can you win places honestly even if the guy disconnect? How can they win places even if they lost and diconnect?? Thanks in advance.

ps: yes, Fabien often disconnect if he loose!!
