Hi, my cousin and me recently bought worms. We decided to battle online! But we only get to fight about 5 mins, and then it says that he surrendered. For him, it says that I surrendered. But we are both still connected online, and it ends the battle, and sends in Ranking Information.

How do you get it to stop surrendering? It happens no matter what we do. It doesn't matter what game mode, and we are not using that white flag thing. It just ends the match for no reason at all... Thanks!:)

are you both on the same router? are you using the nintendo wifi connection USB dongle thingy?

or are you in separate areas. are you playing on nintendo WFC? or just wireless?

what's your proximity to eachother? etc. more info please, and that can maybe help us help you.

well, my cousin lives in San Diego, and i live in San Jose. They are about an 8 hour drive away from eachother. (we wanted to play worms from long distances!!) Well.. he lives in a dorm and he can play other DS games online and Wii.. I can play games like Pokemon online through the DS wifi with no problems, too. We are really stumped. Thanks!!

so its a friends match then, i take it.

hmm. seems strange. sorry, i dont really have an answer. could be just one of your connections, a string of bad luck with nintendo wfc or wormnet...possibly settings in the game.

i've had it where my game has kinda frozen (but music usually still plays, and sometimes i can access the start menu, and use select to change map on/off) - but the network and timer are frozen. sucks, cause i have had to turn off my system on those two occassions.

it's not a perfect science, this wifi stuff. a lot of things can interfere. stay away from microwaves, cell phones, other sources of interference.

see if you can play games with random people without problems...maybe one of you is having more problems than the other - then at least you'll know which part is the problem. assuming both of your copies of worms are legit, you shouldnt be having a problem connecting with eachother specifically.

hope this helps...sorry i can't help more than these suggestions.

Hmmmmm i see i see.. Yeah i also had it freeze on me once before but it was only once.. i guess i'll try to stay away from microwaves and things. i will try to battle randomly now, to see if it is just a friend match problem.
Yeah, both our copies are real copies(both from Gamestops across the state!), some people on gamefaqs say that whenever they play Random matches, the enemy always surrenders later on... hmmm, maybe that is related somehow? Anyways, thanks for the help, i truly appreciate it, have a nice day!:D

odds are, one of you are having connection problems. some cheap/deffective wifi routers will disconnect every once in a while. shouldn't happen, but they do. since you are saying that you don't have problems like that with other games, i would guess that it is your cousin's router. have him try playing form someone else's house or from a public hot spot.

Hmmmm, well my cousin's wifi comes from being on a campus.. but it is weird, because none of us are kicked offline, our worms just surrender. Hmmm weird.. oh well, thanks anyways guys, i'm about to finish off campaign mode!

yeah, i'd definitely blame it on campus network, then.

as for the disconnect, it is entirely possible to lose a p2p connection without either player losing connection to the wifi. how likely that is depends on the net model selected. if that occurs, both sides will see the other as surrendering, to the best of my knowledge.

probably the campus blocks the port the game uses?

with campus network, it could be anything. but pretty much there's nothing you can do if thats the case. maybe have your cousin go sit at mcdonald's. that's what i had to do before i had a wireless router! sucked.
