Any help to any of my questions would be greatly appreciated.

1. What is the WEP key and will it help increase performance if added?
2. I work in a call center, I just yesterday discovered I had WiFi coming from somewhere but the signals go in and out, is there something I can get to boost my recieving power of these signals?
3. With the Nintendo WiFi USB connector can I just plug it in and is it ready to use? Or must I install the software, the reason for this question is I have Vista at home and it does not work with Vista, my PC at work is windows XP but I just want to plug and play becuase we can't use the disk drive to install software.

You don't need a CD drive to install the wifi software, you can get it here:

Might need to check your work policy on installing software though ;)

After that, you plug the dongle in, and away you go. Do not plug it in until the software is installed though.

worms doesn't seem to have lag problems, as its a turn based game. Good luck playing metroid hunters with a connection that goes in and out! :D

WEP won't increase performance, if anything it would be a minor decrease. I guess if you had an open access point and everyone was using your internet connection then adding WEP might block some of them but you have to enable it on both ends and I doubt you have that access at work. You shouldn't need to worry about that if you use the Nintendo USB Connector.

The WEP key is simply the password to access the WiFi access point.
If you don't know you, you'll have to ask someone.

There arn't any easy solutions that i know of that don't involve access to the mentioned wifi point. If you do get access, you can ask them to try a different channel, that might help, other then that, i wouldn't think so.

The alternitive, and the one most likly to work, is to get your own WiFi access point.
Grab a wifi switch/hub and a network cable. Setup the switch at home, then just bring it over to work, plug it in behind your pc, dasy-chaining the network from into the switch, then into the pc.

You'll then have your own wifi access point into your companies network. Not as portable as a usb dongle, but you don't need software to install it, and it will work with vista
