View Full Version : Why do people love cheap weapons?

I have always found a lot more enjoyment using weapons and utilities that require skill and lots of practice. All the online matches I have been in, it seems everyone loves the "point and click" weapons. I am attacking someone all the way across the map with a bazooka and they are dropping bunker busters, air strikes and other weapons that dont really require practice to use effectively.

just random complaining because i would love to find good BnG matches online instead of people using the scheme and shooting you point blank. i guess its my fault for thinking the BnG scheme would have the worms anchored and make them aim or try to shoot around objects.

I can see the point in weapons like bunker busters to get the darksiders but other weapons seem way too cheap sometimes. i especially dont like the sentry guns :( they were good in campaign mode and added a little extra difficulty here and there but online it seems (as far as my playing has gone) people are in love with them.

Well unfortunetly we all face this problem. the only thing they want to do is win while you just want to have fun. I also love to play stratigicaly and with skill weapons like the bazooka, grenade, etc. not a lot of people care about playing fair anymore but there are still some people out there, you just gotta search hard.

oh, and the sentry gun is still stratigical (unless you put it everywhere) the sentry gun can be used to gaurd spots that you know the enemy must cross, but if you put it everywhere then thats just cheap.

Sorry, but tons of new people have joined worms and they don't know how too be skillful yet. Just put your Repel Magnet on and get on with it.

well i'm all for new people getting the game and learning but i was kind of hoping for more tutorials and the game (or instruction manual) explaining what to do and not to do in the different games.

i was playing a BnG scheme earlier with someone and it came down to him on one side and me on the other of a pretty destroyed map. well he went for the homing missle that is in the BnG scheme for some reason and i died.

yay.

Wait, did the sentry guns change since Worms4 or something? Because back then anyway, it only shot at your worms if you moved. And considering that you wanted worms to be anchored for some schemes...

What to do:
Use any weapon you have avaliable in the scheme playing on unless stated otherwise by the other players.

Why were you playing on a scheme with the homing missile if you didn't want it to be in? Did this game also lose the ablility to make your own weapon scheme too?

I was playing some annoying person yesterday. Forgotten his name, but I hope you don't run into him.

He got to choose ALL the customisations before the game!!! He chose full wormage, open landscape (when I tried to make it a cavern) etc...

Well, all he did was drop donkeys onto me. He won, but I quit the next match. And donkeys fall ever so slowly on the DS. Or perhaps low gravity was on...

Donkeys don't really require lots of skill to use. You had just as good a chance of winning as he had.
Unless you're complaining that he was given the oppertunity to choose the settings. But that's just the way things work.

I think he was complaining about wanting a fair match (who doesn't). if the guy kept on using concrete donkeys then that's no fun, when he wanted a stratigical, fun, non-cheap match. he's kind of like me because I would hate it if I came online and all they did was act cheap and just drop a bunch of donkeys on my guys.

I don't play W:OW2 online because I don't have wi-fi conection (you have to buy it) and with all of these complaints about glitches and cheap players then I'm half glad that I don't play online.

All depends on whether you're going ranked or not though. I stay away from cheap or unskilled weapons when doing randoms, but for a ranked match, I'll donkey the other guy silly if it means winning. Mercy doesn't work well when there are points to be tallied (IMO, Full Wormage shouldn't exist for ranked matches, but what can ya do?).

i like stratigic matches using weapon you aim with like bazooka grenade but then again i do like the occasional donkey here and there especially when theres a few of worm in the area :)

Cheap weapons give the greatest reward for the least effort and/or risk. It's common sense that most people are going to use them given the opportunity, particularly for crucial shots.

I am getting sick of all the Full Wormage matches, they are completely pointless. It seems like over half the games I play, people are actually selecting Full Wormage as the scheme. Pointless. All too often I will bite my tongue and try to play a match of skill by not using the unlimited cheap weapons (donkey, airstrike, ect), but as soon as the other person starts to lose... Out come the freaking donkeys to blow me away for being a sucker and trying to play a 'normal' game. Oh, well. At least there are a few people out there that make for a fun game every now and again. And whats the deal with the 4 player matches? I am dying to get one of those going...

I just played a game limited to 3 blowtorches, unlimited rope and 4 jetpacks, with a confined landscape, where the water kept rising. It was impossible to get crates most of the time, and we had to keep skipping goes because there was nothing to do. Eventually one of us drowned accidentally. Not me :)

If rope knocking worked, the game would have ended much quicker.

Yes, I had a game like that, it was long but actually a bit fun. I think it was the shopper scheme, in a cave. The only thing that was being dropped was health, so we had like tons of health, but no weapons. I won the match eventually by jumping at one of my opponents worms who was hanging out on an icy slop and knocking us both into the water. It was pretty rad.

Yeah, only thing was, it was like a random shopper scheme, where crates landed erratically and most times it was simply health, which is all well and good, but one can't really kill the other with health packs.
