View Full Version : The Final Puzzle...PSP...Help!

Hi all,

I'd appreciate any tips to help me finish the final - unlocked - puzzle on the PSP. I burn through with the healthy worm ok...I use the drill to get the 1 health worm down to the bottom, but I can't get him close to the platform...I'm thinking he needs to be as close as possible for my next guy to get down and jump off his head onto the exit. However, I can't get the healthy worm down without the damn parachute opening and then you can't skip a go and move him to the right place!!! Frustrating, but I'm sure there's an answer and it's something that is right in front of me that I'm missing. Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated...by me and my wife, who had to put up with me swearing under my breath until the early hours of this morning trying to get this one!! ;)

You get unlimited skip go on the DS version but on the PSP version, you don't have skip go on some of the puzzles, so there are less solutions.

Drill down with the strong worm on the right. Make sure he lands near the edge of the platform below, so the sentry gun can turn around and knock him down. Parachute down with the 1 health worm and then you can blowtorch through to make a way for the worms to meet.

As a test, I just beat it just now on the DS without using a skip go and without taking any damage.

1) Strong worm burrows across to the weaker worm and stops burrowing as soon as he gets over
2) Weak worm backflips off the ledge and uses the drill in midair (but doesn't actually drill anything on the way down). He turns off the drill and walks near the exit.
3) Strong worm jumps left to the grassy slope, selects the parachute, then inches his way down until he drops off. The parachute deploys just after the sentry gun would have had a chance to hit him. He then backflips off the weak worm into the exit.

On the PSP, you can bounce the weak worm off the walls while he is drilling and with some luck, get him close to the exit but after that, it seems impossible to get the strong worm down without him losing his turn since the sentry gun hits every time.

On both versions, I managed to get the strong worm to the exit, after I suicided the weak worm. Perhaps a worse method for the worms but it was more challenging than the first solution I posted.

Hey Wormetti,

Thanks so much for the first solution you posted...I tried it and it worked first time. Should've thought about getting that damn sentry gun to face the other way before parachuting down.

Thanks to you as well, eyedunno, but the DS version seems to be a bit different to the psp in some respects...so, I just went with Wormetti's suggestions.

Yeah, I beat it Wormetti's way later on, and it does seem to be the more elegant solution, even on the DS, as getting the gun to face the other way makes everything safer. I didn't land on the gun platform though; just went straight down with the drill, and the gun still turned around.
