This is for the DS version only. The PSP thread can be found here (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=34049)

Leave your comments and rate WOW2 DS out of 10 (those who insist on giving decimal ratings can round appropriately :p)

I'm giving it an 8.

It's really great in my opinion but there's room for improvement.

The events in fights are realy fun and the addition of Sentry Guns is very welcome. I really like the new interface, too.

On of my favourite parts of the game is the Blow minigame. It's just a shame there are so few. The same goes for a lot of the game; there's a good variety but I still just want more of each!

I'm also a little disappointed that we are forced to use the stylus for flag creation. It's great for general drawing but it's hard to do pixel art. :(

I had a brief jaunt online last night. I played someone called Matt and he either disconnected or surrendered in the 3rd round. It was fun but I wish there'd been a basic chat function.

All in all I am happy to have bought it. I think I paid £7.50 for W:OW and £30 for W:OW2 and those prices pretty much match up to the games' qualities (though £25 would have been better... damn you Woolworths!).

Hey, it gives them room for a sequel...

Yeah, I voted 8, mainly because ranked online play is not fun at all. I'm still glad to be able to play Worms on a portable and have it feel right though.

Im already addicted and hey it's worms..its great to have on DS...but as I mentioned in another thread, this game is buggy...single card play is just broken, and the game has crashed and frozen on me twice(with dramatic digital noise for added effect) when the dark cloud appears over my worm during custom play.

that sucks, this is a cartridge, you can't patch it up later.

I've played seventeen single-card games so far. No problems.

Did any of the have the fog appear and overlap one of your worms?

That sounds pivotal, from what wormorama said.

Single card play only has the pirate theme and the pirate theme doesn't have the dark cloud. Whatever causes desync for some people has nothing to do with clouds.

Most of the fans requests after the first w: ow seem to have been taken into consideration by T17: more weapons, new stuff, (very) solid single player, lots of unlockables, internet play...
Two Tribes port on the DS is pretty much flawless imo (great work guys!)

So in the end, even if there still is room for improvements here and there, this is one of the best video games I've played in a looong time: Thank you Team :)

Yeah, I guess I misread it as wormorama deeming the single-card play "broken" due to the game crashing as a result of clouds etc.

The two weren't connected.

I've not played any single-card yet. The missus is charging her DS now but while waiting I wore mine out in the shooting range. Heh, I stuck about 50 sentry guns all in a row and spawned a worm into the air above them. Bwahahahaha!

Each to their own, I guess, but I would say you're probably going by graphics as opposed to gameplay. WOW2 on the DS looks and feels very much like it was strongly built upon the W2/WA/WWP game engine, which seems likely when you consider that TwoTribes ported the WWP to the NGage using, IIRC, the PSone source as the basis. It also feels more responsive than the PSP version.

apologise's I gave a 1 to the DS version that was very childish of me, i've never even played it and in many respects the DS version does sound better than the psp. Please disregard me vote.

'sokay.

I don't think anybody really believed that someone could seriously give this game a 1 (look at how many people voted 2-6 so far - zero!). Well, I could imagine it, but it would have to be someone who HATES the PC versions of Worms.

Personally, I am very anti-Sony, and it's not because I'm pro-Nintendo (I'm definitely not), but because I bought one of their cellphones a couple years ago and vowed never to buy a Sony product again unless they changed their game, which they haven't done, and which I don't expect them to do in the near future. Actually, I love the PSP in terms of looks, processing power, and features (but NOT media and firmware), and I want to buy the new slim PSP, but I will not, due to Sony's bad customer service, bad consumer friendliness, and refusal to follow industry standards. Anyway, sorry for the rant.

I did think the PSP version this time was still going to be better, due to graphics and customizability only, but I'm surprised when I hear that so many people who own both consoles are gravitating to the DS version. I can only again say, really good job, Two Tribes.

I gave it a 9/10...

Pros:

Solid engine, and responsive play
Dual screens for taller playing area (good for those tall mountains and caves)
Minigames
Online play!
Fewer quitters online (according to what I've heard and expereinced...)
Everything else everybody has listed...

Cons:

I want more minigames!
I also want more missions!!
And I want more puzzles!!! (but I digress...)

Real cons:
Some minor graphical glitches (see "HELP! Is my game defective?")
Minor issues w/ flag designer

Suggestions:
Fix minor issues (under real cons)
Add missions of all kinds (especially the minigames and missions)
Add more mission types (see idea below)
More online features perhaps?
Perhaps more content and shorter FMV sequences if they are the hogs?

OH, and I got the coolest idea: Could we have missions that mirror the actual course of the world wars, and have the players play on the winning side of the war, of course? Most of the missions were started with a simple command to eliminate the enemy, and I know that this is what worms is. But there were more mission types on Worms Armageddon for the PS1, particularly securing drop zones and protecting certain worms, etc...

But overall, VERY solid game!

I gave it a 10. It's a superb game and am drawn by the online play!

Interesting voter for 1/10... :p

It seems one member of the PSP programming team at T17 doesn't like the DS version - I wonder why?
