View Full Version : Come on, where are the real multiplayer matches? (DS)

I can't seem to ever find any other matches other than 1 vs. 1, and rarely ever a Forts match of any kind. I know the game just came out, but there are now quite a few players in the ranks. So, does anyone ever search for anything other than a 2-player match? I'd love to do 3 and 4-player matches. :(

If you want a 4 player match, perhaps it would be good to try and arrange it with 4 people in your friends list. Or post a day and time, and perhaps 3 other forumers may try connecting at that time :D

^^^ Yeah thats the best way of doing. I think 1v1 is popular because it minimises lag. But I don't get this game until Monday soooo I don't really know the correct answer!

As I've posted in just about all the new age 2D Worms forums so far, I don't believe ranked games should be played with more than two teams. Limiting them to 1v1 and 2v2 is the only way the ratings preserve any meaning, but apparently WOW2 has problems more severe than this as far as ranked play goes anyway.

Rant over, let me just add that if I did own any of these games, I'd most likely only play unranked matches with a balanced scheme made by myself. Or better yet, I'd recreate the BnG, Elite and Team17 schemes from WA as well as it can be done and play those.

Good luck finding games and excuse me for the interjection.

On the DS version, every player has to pick the number of players and game type (deathmatch, race or fort) before they search for a match. The default is set to 2 players, it would likely take hours to find a 3 or 4 player game purely by chance since most players would get bored of waiting for others to choose the same options and they would try a 2 player game instead.

The PSP version lets you create a lobby, so you can wait for as many people to join as you want. Of course less people own a PSP, so it could still take a while to find 4 players but I've managed it.

Funny you should say that. I'm looking for a three-player match now. I guess I'm gonna fail, like always. Been waiting about five minutes so far. :(

Yeah, I've only done one ranked match so far, and I don't anticipate doing a whole lot of them. I mainly play online just to have fun playing against other people. The more the merrier, I say. I just think more people adds more silliness, and Worms has always been big for me because of its humor. I think a four-player match in Full Wormage would make for some funny stuff. :p

If only it had Sheep Heaven. I could be playing Sheep BnG on my DS right now. :(:(:(

They sure do... yesterday a sheep jumped out of a crate and landed on top of my last team member

Yeah, I was pleasantly chuffed to see one leap out and fall into the sea.

Unfortunately you can't control the crate contents (let alone activate Sheep Heaven) like you can in W:A, so some are sheep and most are not.

I also wish there was blood.

Bummer.
