I was just wondering if someone involved in the game could explain the extremely poor (and worse that WOW) implementation of wireless ad-hoc multiplayer on the PSP. I'm not talking about online here, just ad-hoc.
When playing 4 player ad-hoc there can be as much as 5 second delay between what happens on the active player screen being displayed on the other 3 systems.
This is in contrast to WOW which was close to instant in this manner apart from lag-spikes from time to time. WOW2 now seems to have a permanent delay inserted and I cannot understand why. I mentioned in a post on another thread that this lag, NEVER less than 2 secs, has really ruined the flow (and humour) of ad-hoc games. It is also annoying to hear all the game sound effects repeated 2 or 3 times.
If so many other PSP multiplayer games can have near-instant wireless response, why is WOW2 so very poor in this regard? If it was a deliberate decision, what was the reason behind it?
