I just played an online ranked race, and my first disappointment, was that it was with jetpacks instead of ropes. Is there a way to rope-race?

My second question is, I started off badly, falling and injuring myself etc...but I still got to the teleport faster than my opponent, yet he won.

Round 2 then started, and by now I had gotten used to the map, and I got to the teleport much faster this time, in about 2 turns, and faster than my opponent again, who took more turns than the previous round to get to the teleport.

Yet he won BOTH matches...How does that work?

Im ranked 44 for race though. I hope that's not because only 44 people have got the game and played Race :D

I just played a point online match for race and it was ropes..the gamemode is called rope-race :s

And you can't drop weapons from a rope :O Or use an insurance parachute...Damn. Rope is too long. I can literally get anywhere on the map with one shot.

The leaderboards are updated every few minutes or so. If you dived straight for the boards, you probably won't have been ranked yet. Were you ranked after a few minutes had passed?

Umm u can drop weapons from rope hang from it and select ur weapon which u wanna drop and press b to use while hanging ok?

There are quite a few leaderboards. You go to the RACE board, and click R trigger, which shows your rank.

By the way, thanks for the advice Moiz575, I didn't try pressing B. Dropping from the rope makes escapes much easier :D

Finally, one last question. After I finished a deathmatch game, I reached some kind of lobby with the options Quit or Continue.
Next to my name, was an arrow pointing downwards. Next to my opponents name was a brown envelope, like an email message icon. He disconnected shortly after this, and the screen disappeared. Did he try leaving me a message?

Does anyone know exactly what this icons represent?

Thanks. Fantastic game. I realised races don't depend on who gets to the teleport first. The person with the shortest time totaled during their turns; wins. There is so much depth and configuration to this game, its no wonder I'm getting overwhelmed ;D.

Rope matches are not about the number of turns it takes to get to the teleport, but about the amount of time you need to get there. If I, for example, swing using the ninja rope and fall, and my turn is over, yet it only took me about 4 seconds. If I do this about 6 times to get to the teleport, then I've spent 24 seconds getting there in 6 turns. Now if the other player would get there in 2 turns, but in 30 seconds, then I win. Because even though I've spent more turns, I've spent less time getting to the teleport :)

Still not ranked..But the person i played against and won (my brother) got ranked 190 in the main leaderboard..wtf?

Ur welcome darkspark. the brown envelope was him trying to say that he added u to his rivals list. What u could have done is press a 'A' on his name and there should have been some kind of option to accept or decline. try it. ithink it works. u can also add someone else to ur rivals roster by pressin 'A' again and press add to rivals. A rivals roster is like a friends but without u using ur custom team with real names etc. if u still dont understand send me a private message and ill answer it 4 u. the u can later play with him if he and u are on wifi and u search for rivals. XD. cool huh? the first post in this thread says u played with jetpacks but u can play with ropes as well. u and ur opponent can vote on which 1 u wanna play. o hand if he accepts ur invitation his name should go pink/red and then u should choose if u wanna quit or continue
