Well, I was looking the Flash site and i first went to the PSP page, i saw all the pictures and almost every worm had a hat..
(Pirate Bandage, WWI Helmet etc;)
And then I saw the DS site pictures! No one weared a hat!!
Can you get these hats in DS Version?

I own Only DS so i must know!

No hats in the DS version (they said they didn't look good due to lower resolution). It has some touchscreen mini games though.

Worm names, Skin Color, Victory Dance, Flag and Speech can be customized per team. Should be enough to make you stand out when going online :)

I've already left a comment about this but, that seems kind of stupid that they didn't put in any hats I was looking foward to hats and now I'm MAD:mad::mad: Team17 Better change that or the DS won't sell well. in other words they won't get more money there killing there own money by taking away cool hats

the hats looked bad on so very few pixels, so it looks better without them. end of story. If you think twice of buying a game because it has no hats, I pity you.

(unless it's a game where the main guy is a hat. Then, I would be disapointed.)

Perhaps you could simply wear a hat yourself? Or make a little hat for your DS, thus allowing all games to be hatted?

Hats don't really add to the awesome gameplay of worms, it would be a nice touch to have hats though.

But if you don't buy it only because you can't have hats... you're evil...

I never said that I wouldn't buy it I just ment less people would buy the DS version. I'm still getting the DS version But, I still don't see why they wouldn't put has in just because they look bad. if it looks bad then why dosn't Team17 just put an option in to not have hats and an option to have hats like W4. that way if the player dosn't like it then they could just leave the worms naked and if they do then they could put a hat on. that way everyones happy:)

You try giving something 6 pixels tall a fleshed-out and highly personable appearance with full hattability and let us know how that works out.

The DS rly needs a graphics update from nintendo..... the psp version of worms is crystal clear.

oh and to your question that would go horribly with hats.

The DS is an awesome piece of kit, combining a unique, fun and intuitive interface with an easily affordable price. It has sold 47.3 million units wordwide so far, making it a highly desirable platform to develop games on. I don't think it needs to change in any way. It would be daft to try to compare it directly with a PSP, since the price and spec are so different.

yea but thats not what im saying. im saying the graphics are bad for the nintendo DS compared to the PSP.The PSP also has better feautres for worms. like the hats, better online(and able to create your own team online),and the worms are 2 1/2 D style on PSP.now the DS misses out on the hats but it has minigames.i own a DS(lite)Like nintendo should make a new grahphics card for the DS to make it super! also they should make the DS play music and videos on those little cards! and even lets ppl go online without buying The browser.

Try playing with the touchscreen on the PSP, or letting the mic recognise sounds... OR, making it have a lower price...

quite impossible for me, it seems. I see the psp a TV console, but portable, while the DS seems something totally different.

I love pears, you love pinapples. Both are fruits, but not that easy to compare.

EDIT: ooops, I did read it without the edit. Then, ok :) anyways, think that if you boost the graphics card, with the touch screen (that detects every pixel you touch) it would increase its price in a bigger measure than a normal screen. I think it was enough with that, considering it could have grown to an extent to be too expensive.

I will concede that the DS could really use texture filtering, and I'm still not sure why they couldn't include it. I look at Mario 64 and then I look at Mario 64 DS and I wonder what the heck they were thinking. Although, I'm not sure if the developers have gotten better at working around it, or if I'm just getting more used to it, but I don't notice it as much in most current games.

Also, screw the friend codes system. They go to all that trouble in the interest of making sure their younger players don't end up giving out personal info to any weirdo they can play against, and then they go and release web browsers for both the DS and Wii which, to the best of my knowledge, lack parental controls of any kind.

Other than those gripes, yeah, the system is great and I love having it. I'm getting way more gameplay time out of it than any of my other systems. So they obviously did something right.

Or you could say that the graphics are great on the DS and even better on the PSP. I don't really like the word "bad" linked to my work ;)

The worms are 2 1/2 D on the PSP? Nope. The source art for the worm is exactly the same on both systems. I think it may be that the increased resolution of the PSP screen allows you to see the little guys animate a bit clearer.

A new graphics card in the DS would only serve to increase the price, defeating the whole point of the system.

My DS plays all kinds of stuff, including movies. I don't know about the browser, since I don't have it.

I think you'll be very pleased with the DS version if you get it. The online multiplayer is a killer. Its my favourite version of Worms so far.

Actually, the DS' browser can be password protected, and the Wii's can be included in the standard parental control (ie you need a 4-digit pin to access it).

I think what he was actually referring to was how the Worms are 2D, while the backgrounds are (or at least look) 3D. I seem to recall Yoshi's Story was one of the first games coined as being "2 1/2 D" because everything looked sort of 3D but controlled completely in 2D.

They prefered to make it with the touch screen... Try to make a price that makes sense with a touch screen AND a incredible resolution... simply cannot be.

Well...

<pardon me for ranting>

Graphics don't really make the game. Take for example the PS3... "Cinema Quality" graphics, right? At a very "Cinema Quality" price... this is by far one of the most expensive consoles that have been released...

IMO the graphics don't make the game, but do enhance it. As long as the graphics are good enough to convey the game to the player with a minimum of visual defects, then there does not need to be any more power in the graphics chip. Case and point? Gamecube.

As far as the DS graphics? Yeah, when the 3d areas get bigger, things start to get blocky, but the resolution on the screen is actually pretty good. What it needs is a better processor/filtering on the graphics to remove all the jaggies. But I digress, it's certainly not bad.

1: The PSone was made in 1994, while the N64 was made in 1996!
2: Graphic experts? You mean people that make graphics? You are aware that the DS's inferior hardware is due to the iinferior hardware, right?

Nintendo have always gone for the cheap-and-fun route rather than the expensive cutting-edge hardware route. Even the NES was cut back to make it cheaper.

A new graphics card for the DS? Where do you suppose that would fit then? In the GBA slot? I think not. And assuming it WAS possible, you'd then need to upgrade at least one of the CPUs and the screen resolution for it to be noticable.

There are already devices for the DS that allow perfect music+video playback. There are also now working, free browsers.

Young people don't appreciate the importance of hats in a worms-based business context. That's why they're kids, because they're sssssstupid.

Did you know that when Team17 released Worms 4: Mayham they "bet the entire farm" on hats, as it were? If it weren't for hats you children wouldn't have quality games like Worms Forts, Worms Cell Phone Golf and Worms Mayham Extravaganza. Some of the best games of all time, you know.

"Nintendo's official website says 1996, but my friend says 1994, so therefore 1994 must be the correct year because I know my friend but I don't know anyone at Nintendo."

The DS, much like the Wii, focuses on a unique method of gameplay. Sony and Microsoft don't appear to be interested in trying to make games more interesting*, just better-looking, and more 3D-y. Pity.
