I used to use one, and, when I installed both Worms 4 and Worms Forts Under Seige they don't run properly. This was caused by a external hard drive. So I put one of them on the hard drive and one of them on the desktop and it worked. Hope this would help you people, I dought anyone uses a external hardrive though, but hope this help anyway...
