Release dates will no doubt be officially clarified when the game(s) have passed through the hardware submission stages. At this point, they're expected "Summer 2007" in all territories.

From what I heard from game websites,it's coming out in augest for u.s and july for U.k.

I never really liked the hats on the 3D Worms, but these 2D guys are soooo much better-looking! I'm overjoyed that Team17 are embracing the good ole 2D versions of the game again - they're so much more fun to play and I think the 2D game looks a lot more detailed, weird as that sounds.

We can't confirm release date at this time. We're working hard towards a summer release with THQ and the game is in the final throes of testing prior to final testing on PSP and NDS at Sony and Nintendo.

If Team17 or the publishers of a game say a date, that is the correct date. If anyone else says it, that date is made up. That's the rule.

When I pre-order stuff from Amazon, I usually get it the day after their official release date. Amazon are probably right. I mean they get their dates from somewhere, and it doesn't help them by misleading their customers, who will become disgruntled when they do not receive the game the days after it is released. It shouldn't be hard for a company that large to get the "heads up" on release dates in advance of announcements.

If you read a few posts up, you'll see that I suggested the release date was not confirmed as yet. That's still the case. Not until we have both versions through publisher approval can we announce an exact date. Dates are given to sites and retailers based on what the publisher expects, but sometimes there are hiccups and slight delays. We're still on course for summer, which is what we've said all along.

I recently noticed that it has been bumped to August 6th, could I get information as to when the earliest release date is(Europe or North America), so I know if I should order.

What's your source for that release date? As far as I'm aware nothing has been officially announced yet, and release dates from places like Amazon are stupidly unreliable.

When there is an exact release date you will hear it from THQ or Team17 first. Any other source, no matter how big, is guessing.

But by asking the same question over and over again when you know the answer hasn't changed is just wasting Team17's time and everybody else's.

When Team17 and the publishers announce the release date, then we will all know when the game is being released. And not before that.


I personally would not get on the wrong side of Spadge, especially as he is creative director of Team17, and has a lot of "power" on this forum.

Unfortunately, that's still like asking how long a piece of string it. Team17 will have about as much idea of that as they do the actual release date, especially as both are connected.

That's not how it works here - anyone with a Bold username and who is either a Moderator or Administrator is directly employed by Team17. "User mods" (who you'll notice aren't bold) are not employed by Team17.

You don't know the US release date, because neither Team 17 nor THQ have told us yet. Shocking, I know!

Err... There might be aonther way to find out the relase date... Maybe if Sony does the PSP game relase date or/and Nintendo does the DS game relase date.... (pointing it out again) But it might not be possible.

Except that Sony and Nintendo aren't publishing the game - THQ are. Sony and Nintendo need to authorise the games, obviously, but they don't have any say on when it's actually published (although I imagine part of the license includes a time limit on initial publication, but that's just because it's the sort of thing I'd do).

The only people who will know for sure currently work for either THQ or Team 17.

I know there has been previews of WOW:2, but most of them are getting a bit old (for example, on IGN last mention of the game is dated may). What I meant is that since the game should be out anytime soon, one would expect more "hands on", adds etc. But maybe I'm beeing too excited, as usual.

Plasma i seriously think you have to stop Flaming ppl. That date is RUMORD from eb games. one time i asked them when Star wars battlefront renegade would come out he said SEPTEMBER 4........ it was wrong..... and he even told me it was a estimate!

Plasma is right. There is no point discussing rumoured release dates. Team17 and THQ are the only sources you can trust for this information. The other places are just guessing.

The testing and approval stages for console title with a large amount of online play are considerable.

One of the two has already passed its hardware approval, the other in another submission loop to fix a few things found last time.

Once that is cleared, we will be able to give you a date. Whilst it is possible that THQ may release one platform ahead of the other, I'd say it's unlikely. We'll know for sure in the next few weeks. A release for either is unlikely before September given the manufacturing process timings.

In a perfect world, we would have had both platforms on sale by now, but unfortunately and for a variety of reasons, it's not worked out that way.

THQ UK have begun contacting gaming media (such as Dream17) with regard to review copies. Review copies will often consist of pre-release code (usually near-final) however in the past THQ have been very good at providing final retail copies.
