Worms Forts: Under Seige had Armageddon, actually. Doesn't appear to be in this game though. I don't particularly miss it, but it was funny.

actually, the previous game it was in is worms forts: under siege.
but you need a citadel to use it. {citadel or castle? i can't remember.}

I do miss it, it was a great weapon. So unpredictable, was awesome as a last resort weapon, just unleashing the meteors and hope for the best. :p

I said that in the previous post

It was always fun in the 2d ones to make massive defense systems then set it off, just to see if you'd survive.

Yeah, that weapon was fun! Not very good for proper matches, but still fun.
WWP and WF:US were the last to have it because W3D and W4 couldn't handle that much terrain deformation, and W:OW and Wxbla only had the basic weapons.

It was great for proper matches. Not as a weapon you start with, obviously, but as a weapon you might find in a crate.
It's allways fun when your enemy thinks he's got you, then you unleash armaggedon and tie the game :P

I don't know about you, but having a weapon that causes the game to end in a tie automatically, no matter whose winning, doesn't sound like it's good for the gameplay to me.

It's a Super Weapon, which makes it very rare or hard to find in a crate. Using the Concrete Donkey will most likely grant you an instant win, so I don't see why you can't have a weapon that will most likely tie the game. The fun part of it is that it's the only unpredictable weapon.

Nah, I always found the donkey to be over-rated. It can kill two worms, three if you're lucky, but it won't help you much if you're being overwhelmed. Armageddon can kill off nearly every worm left on the map!

Come now, Plasma, the i've found the Donkey to be far more useful than that. That said, I still kind of find using a weapon to make a tie when you're losing is a little unsporting.

Well on regular matches I was barely ever overwhelmed. I'd usually use it late into the game when the ammount of worms was minimal. Maybe not win the instant you use it, but it does define you as winner since you'll most likely kill enough of the enemy for him not stand a chance against you.

And it's not unsporting, luck is an important factor in the game, and if you're lucky enough to find the weapon, you deserve to use it.

Yeah, I liked setting the options to Double Damage with Armageddon from the start, then trying to design a landscape so a few worms would (usually) survive. It was a massive mountainous island that took up most of the editor and had just a few strategically-placed holes in the bottom middle where I'd teleport a few worms before unleashing Armageddon.

That said, I don't think I'll miss it. The Concrete Donkey is brutal enough.
