Have a look at [this (http://www.pcsx2.net/image.php?id=1153942270j02)]. Has the game printed source code on the ground as a texture there?

No, it's not source code, probably a texture page with font-stuff on.

And I've found a couple of simialr screenshots. []This one[/b] (http://www.pcsx2.net/image.php?id=1166488825j08)] is from Worms3D, while [[b]this one (http://www.pcsx2.net/image.php?id=1124825455363j07)] is from Worms Forts: Under Siege. APparently this is what happens when you try to run PS2 games on a PC using an unfinished, unstable, unofficial emulator.

the game can't display it's source unless intentionally designed to. looks like a bunch of texture errors. since this is ps2 version of the game being run under pcsx2, it is really not that surprising.

You're right - it's just the game's letter sheet. Still, fairly bizarre. I wonder why it does that under emulation?

Interesting sidenote: The menus in X2 appear broken when played on the PS2.

hard to tell exactly, but some guesses can be made. there would be a number of places where a game would use an array of indexes, names, or pointers to texture locations. if you read one of such arrays from the wrong place, you'll end up using a wrong texture on everything. such an error can occur when textures are read from disk, transfered to video memory, or even selected for rendering, depending on the exact implementation. as far as actual cause for an error, there are a lot of places where an emulation can go wrong. could be a glitch in disk or graphics plugins, or it could be an error in cpu emulation.

hey! it actually looks nice for a worm texture... kinda ciber, you know... like for a challenge mode or something, using your team to beat a glitchy-looking team...

No, a lot of emulators used to do that with 3D games if the computer wasn't properly compatible. That kinda stuff happened to a N64 emulator on my old comp a long time ago.

The storyline should be you controlling one of the inbuilt teams named after T17 staff, defeating worms that look like that, who are named after bugs in the game.

"ASSERT ERROR swam like they fought!" Oh, and how I would have loved to be able to finish off the Worms-never-settling-upon-landing bug in the early W3D builds with a finely placed bazooka.
