I personaly prefer 1 because I'm used to that type of bubbles.

I'm partial to 1 since rounded bubbles are a standard and look smoother.

1 just looks too common and 2 looks to indecisive.

2. Has a more hand-made look.

I'll have to pick 2. Not round, not square, good balance.

I honestly don't like number 2 and prefer number 3. I think number 2 just looks a bit scribbly. I actually dislike the drawn-by-hand look for speech bubbles myself. Have to agree with Vader that ellipse bubbles take up too much room, I found that out the hard way in my last comic.

As for the speech bubbles, I admit to being a fan of the good old fashioned round ones in number 1, but can understand that they do take up a fair bit of space. Out of the other two, I prefer 3. 2 is sort of a good idea, but just comes out looking a bit weird to me.

Ok... what i take from all this is that there isn't a consensus. Each one of you seems to like a specific one for a specific reason. Hence, the best thing i can do is just go along with the one that i find most suit at the time, since it'll probably please just 1/3 of you. :p
