I'd say the most ridiculous thing about the Pokemon is the pokemon... if you know what i mean...

Well... in other hand, at least is original... i can't possibly think of something lamer than those "digimon" crap that appeared later... sad, sad thing... -_-

I think digimon was made before pokemon in Japan...

Preasure
18 Jul 2006, 19:56
Possibly before the cartoon series, the game did come out before digimon though. Yes, according to wikipedia the game got US release in 1996, the cartoons aired in 1997 and digimon (the cartoons) aired in 1999. The studios were working on digimon in 1995, about the time pokemon was released, so pokemon was up and running while digimon was still being made.

Hmm, DA isn't working for me. I'm sure it'd be excellent if I could see the page. ;) :p

I think Digimon was better than Pokémon. It atleast had a storyline that involved the characters actually aging.

Bah. Digimon was tons better than Pokémon ever was.
The 3rd season especially.
It was first, too, but that has been mentioned already.

Though Pokémon was actually enjoyable in its early days, when the episodes actually had plotlines. Todays episodes are all EXACTLY the same. EXACTLY. It's pathetic.

What does all this have to do with Slick's comic?
His comic was about Pokémon.
We are taking about pokémon.
Pokémon is the subject of the comic.
We are on-topic.

Yeesh, people. Could you allow people to actually have a conversation a little more interesting than "Nice comic" in a while?

That's quite true.

Unfortunately, I'm the firstborn in my family.

I'm generally the more evil one. However I'm also more calm and less noisy, therefore I get into much less trouble.

My parents will tip-toe around my sister, as she is very unreasonable and shouts a lot when she's being got at; but me being reasonable, I get the full force of the whip. Also, whoever starts the argument, it's my fault. The official line is that I'm older and more responsible, but I have a sneaking suspicion it's to avoid conflict with my sister. Personally I don't blame them, but it's still annoying.

One day she will learn a very harsh lesson. If not, she will probably suffer. I would try to teach her that lesson or get my parents to do it.

I think what he's saying is that it's a good picture which would have been better if they were doing stuff. That doesn't mean he thinks pictures of worms standing there are bad, just less interesting and intriguing than those of worms in action.

I agree, to be honest. Whilst the picture is excellently drawn and the worms have a lot of character, an even better picture would include those qualities aswell as some action. You know, something that makes you think "Oooh, I wonder what's going on in this beautifully drawn picture" rather than "Oooh, that's a beautifully drawn picture".

Edit: I just noticed... the comment says "S-2k bottom left; Vader middle; Lex on the right; and then you have Huntakilla up in the righthand corner, flying." but from what I can see, Lex is on the left, S2K is in the middle, I am on the right and HK is in the top-left. Even from the worms' point of view the order is wrong. ;)

I did that on purpose, I knew it would bug people.
And anyways...
...I drew these out of boredom people...sheesh. If I would try to make an action pic, I would. Hell, one of them was just for Lex to see what my concept of his sigworm would look like.

Hey, the fanartist of the month thing seems to be working out fine, you know.

And you should draw for yourself rather than trying to please other people.
I draw just because I want to be good at it sometime. I don't get all that many comments on my comic and stuff, and a lot of the time I feel like people ignore me, but I still make it. I want to become good enough to draw down something exactly the way I picture it in my mind. I'll probably never get that good, but at least I can try. I just want to draw awesome things, that's why I work my a$$ off for a few months making that _RELEASE; picture. I get a kick out of looking at stuff I drew.

If you don't get anything out of drawing, then there's no real reason to keep doing it, I guess. You have to actually like doing it, you can't feel like you have to do it for others, because if you do, it becomes a chore, which should be avoided at all costs. If it becomes a job, then you just don't WANT to do it anymore.

This is more by what I live by than what everyone does, but I don't know. Maybe it applies to more people than I expect. I'm not even sure if it's exactly the problem you have.
But you shouldn't just up and stop drawing. You're WAAAAY too good at it to do that. Whether it's worms or not doesn't really matter. it's just about what you really want to draw. If you don't want to draw worms, then you can stop.

Hmm... long post.
)(-<*ABRIDGED VERSION*>-)(
If drawing doesn't make you happy or anything, you should stop, because drawing isn't just meant for the benefit of others, it's also for you. You should have fun drawing, and if you aren't, there's not much of a point to continue doing so, as you aren't making a living off of this.

Not really.
You're suggesting that strength comes entirely from the arm.
If that were true, we couldn't move our fingers.
If someone tried to lift a bus, even if they had infinite strength, their hands would hurt like hell afterwards.

Yes, the fingers can lift small items, but think about how you lift something. Your hand grips it, but it's the biceps and the arm which give it the upward movement.

lol, 'Redjustar'.

Ah, but if hands whatever's happening, the hands have some kind of unusual physics to them. If we accept that they can float, we can also accept that they can't lift heavy weights.

I always assumed they had arms, that were just invisible. and imaterial.

extra-dimensional pockets I say!

Is this because the arms of a worm are so large, muscular and obviously impossible, that they can't quite fit or exist around the worm and in this dimension?

Why break one law of physics when you can break two? Might as well be hanged for a super sheep as a lamb, after all. :p ;)

What's stopping you from drawing a worm with arms?

Because a worm's arms aren't visible. So, I don't draw in the arms. The point is that how are you supposed to make two hands look as if the "arms" are crossed.
