...please FIX GODDAMN STUPID AI :mad::mad: Pardon my French, but its so goddamn annoying with pointless timewasting and on purpose suicides!

Here are some examples:

It mostly sits till >3 seconds left before starts moving without shooting, because time runs out or skipping rope! And sometimes it just sits out! If it dot know what to play, it should skip damn rope after 15 seconds..

I got several situations where 2 AI worms are on shore, waiting to be killed by me in some further turn, when all of a sudden on one of those 2 worms turn, one of them takes out banana bomb and drops it just in front, suiciding both!
Its happening even when 1 enemy worm is on shore and its that worm's turn, it just suicides...

And reason why I think its on purpose, I also had situation where all my worms are on one part of the island while AI's were on the other part.. There was some unjumpable tower in between so I was shooting bananas and such on them, softening them up. So there were 3 AI worms left, and all 3 was in 3 deferent holes, next to each other, made by banana. Worm in the middle hole had 39hp and it was farest AI's worm turn, when it tucked snow grenade (not ordinary one, but snow!) and dropped it next to in the middle hole, taking 40 dmg from that 39hp worm! WTF!?!? It couldn't take any other weapon, or drop it much higher, since my worms was on totally other part of the island!?

Im sorry, but don't tell me that improving AI in this game is harder than in any other worms games?

Just to let you know, it happened again! On purpose suicide! I pushed AI's worm #1 next to worm #2.. Then with my other worm placed HHG next to both and left them in a hole with 25 and 1 hp next to each other. Plan was to use third worm then to kill em both with 1 dragon ball for the task.. But NO! Next turn, AI's worm with 1 hp takes snow grenade and drops it on 25hp worm, suiciding both! F..K!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's moar details, and they are true to the letter:

-if your worm is at a close distance,AI will throw absurdly close,or hit himself.

-if your worm is at a moderate distance,AI will go full-power,launching the weapon across the whole map into the water.

-if your worm is nowhere close within the certain radius(about half-a-map) ,AI will waste all round time just standing,or hopefully skip the turn in the last 5 or even 3 seconds.

-only time AI hits with ranged weapons is by pure luck and insane ricochets.

-AI's uses of melee weapons seem inspired by pure fail. How come there's a world of difference between Professor's team and our auto-defense systems? The idea of them being poor at combat is good for practice, but they play simply awful. It frustrates the hell outa me.

The task Who needs friends? pops up every day, along with the Search and destroy ,and for most of us it's easier to battle Professor than to wait for a friend to be online. With all this said, you can imagine me sinking teeth into my keyboard while I watch 30 seconds of idleness, usually 2 times per match, often more if there's one behind the mace or the tower that generate near map edges. Towelie explained vividly about their suicidal tendencies,so now you have a whole picture of our matches against Professor.

Anyone from Team is reading this? Nothing have changed! AI still suicides at large, suck as hell, wastes time and other! Plus it cheats! I saw it several times now that it shoots without actually shooting (power ups)! And in last game, it tucked out an banana and even before started shooting, it was on max power like in this thread: http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=60896 but when shot it landed almost next to it..

Also I have an idea, since one of the reasons it sucks like that is that it doesn't drive new players away by kicking their asses, how about adding auto difficulty lvls? From 1-10 very easy, 10-20 easy, 20-30 normal, 30-40 hard 40+ very hard? Personally I don't give a damn about it kicking my butt, just want them to play and not just sit, waste time and suicide!

also this http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=61709
it irritates even more to have to surrender the game on top of it all.

a difficulty option that Towelie suggests is a must.

If I may jump in, I never have problems with professor being unprecise. It's the opposite, I hate how precise he is. However i have to agree it's again waiting to waste 30 seconds and sometimes I even predict when.

By the way Towelie, I'm sure some one from staff is reading this but not answering. It happens lot more often then we think.

So today I also noticed that I have a good professor oponent, while I joined my buddy and played once on his account against AI, It was terrible! It hitted hisself all the time. It can be because he just started not sure though.

I hope (whlist they are fixing WuM apperantly again) this will be no longer a thread to whine about how bad professor is, but about how though he is!

Happy worming!

Well today i saw something unbelievable! There were 2 ai worms standing next to each other, one with 72 and another with 20+ HP, so i planned to blast em away with HGG in upcoming turns, but then 20+ hp worm tucked HGG and failed throwing it, it was bit too far form AI worms (couldn't harm them) and way far from my worm, so it then started moving to the HGG on those last 5 seconds and suicide!!! FTW!!! That's what ****es me off along with time wasting! Im even thinking of getting some recording program to record further games, since seeing unbelievable things!
And im lvl 40, didn't just started :(

Don't worry Towelie, we're working on it. Will update it soon. :)

Since after lvl 20, the AI has been quite precise for me. No matter what kind of "safe" place my worm is in, the AI just throws a grenade which bounces off some wall or cliff or somewhere else and lands right next/on to me. Like everytime. Sometimes it may take like 1-2 HP less from me, but usually it gets the maximum health off. Okay, with hhg's and banana bombs he is not perfect, but almost with them too. I have counted two times he has actually missed me (for another of them, see below), but otherwise he knows his target. This doesn't bother me, because even though I hate to lose even to AI, I love it this way much better than the stupid AI, especially when I'm sill winning most of the matches (losing like 1 of 10 games these days). When I can't throw its worms to water, the matches are much tougher and it's easier for me to lose, especially when I semi-refuse to use high powered weapons against AI.

Of course there is still that Skip Go problem which I hate very much. It's stupid that the AI can't just skip go right away, but it has to wait until the very end before it does it. Irritating!

But I have actually come with a theory how the AI operates, but don't know if I can explain it good enough, but let's try! When my turn starts, AI counts/decides its next target. But if my worm moves too much (to safe place / next to other AI's worm) and the AI's next worm isn't near me or if I hit that worm more or less hard so it loses its current position, the AI has to count/decide its movement again and that takes some time, which causes the AI from doing nothing at all. Sometimes AI is able to count/decide new target in time and then does its dirty work, but that doesn't usually happen until the last ten seconds or so.

Of course I can only guess what AI is going to do next, but still I think I have a fair amount of experience to at least predict that. And it seems that quite often my predicts are correct and if I do something that prevent AI's worm to do the thing I have predicted it to do, there is many times that total silece from AI for a while. Of course this theory isn't 100 % solid, but it seems quite valid, even though I happen to bump some exceptions every now and then (or then I just predict AI's movement totally wrong :D). I have observerd AI's turns weighing my theory and it seems to work, but of couse I can be totally wrong. At least when I hit the next-turn-to-be AI worm, it seems to think its actions a little longer than otherwise.

But the thing that maybe caused me to think this at all was the second time the AI had missed my worm after level 20 (I can't recall what happened at the first time). When it was my turn my worm was in a hole made by grenade. I climbed off there, put grenade next to AI's worm, which landed on the hole and to exactly on the same place that my worm had just been. Now, my worm was in good position for AI's another worm, which turn it was next, but instead of hitting me, it threw a grenade just the same spot that the holed AI worm was, in meaning same place that I was just a turn ago and that for bombed his own worm. I think that if there was no more any worm in that hole, the AI would have recognised it and maybe bombed my worm instead (or skipped go after 29 seconds), but now that there was worm as there was when my turn had started, the AI had some kind of malfunction and thought that the enemy worm (me) was still in there. This kind of action stayed on my mind, since, as I told above, these days the AI makes hardly any mistakes against me and that probably got me thinking about the theory.

AI still wastes time and suck :( If it doesn't kill one of my worms (and it barely does), my first worm rarely get the chance to play its second turn...

And what I noticed, the proffesors worm names always change. Great job, now it's difficult to abuse turn order sometimes!

Anyway they still waste time (as towelie said) but still very precise here.

Pozdrav! Happy Worming!

Please FIX THE AI SYSTEM! =(
It's still killing themselves ;/
I got them in pairs, to kill both with one shot and get the achievement for killing all four in one shot [with that ice missile with 3 shards], but in their turn they shot a banana bomb into the wall and killed three of their own worms! letting me with only one to kill =(((((
That's disappointing...A LOT! :(:(:(:(

For me Professor's AI is quite good now. He still hit me quite accurately, although he misses a little bit more often, but now he uses only regular weapons, so it's more even that way.

Online AI is a little bit stupider, but so far haven't seen any (mass) suicides.

Don't worry guys, we're always aiming to fine tune the AI system with improvements and new weapons.
