hi - my friend and i initially posted this in the tech support section - i'm hopin that maybe *someone* out there has experienced the same prob and knows of a fix

Cannot find CD -- WWP
I am trying to play WWP online. I have the US version and I've tried installing it on 3 different systems with 3 different OS's -- Win 98, Win 2k and Win XP.

When I install the game it runs fine, but when I go to play multiplayer it says that I need to patch. I follow the link to wwp.team17.com and download the US service pack 1 (English).

However, after I extract the patch, I get an error message saying, "Cannot find CD...Please insert Worms World Party, click Ok and restart the application" (or some similar message to that).

I've noticed that several people over the past year have had the same problem but no one has ever answered exactly what the fix is. Could someone please explain what I need to do to run the game?

he doesnt have focus version *or* battle pack - it's *just* wwp purchased from gogamer.com

patch isnt broken up into chunks - it's a straight download from team17's wwp site

i find it highly annoying that your support team will take the time to chastise people for asking for assistance with pirated software (and then delete the thread) yet you will *ignore* customers that *DO* have legitimate copies of the game in need of help

Besides, with a lot of problems there is absolutely no reason why T17 staff should know how to fix it any better than some of the other members, and I have seen lots of threads end in "thanks, that worked" from both.hi Hi.

The world does NOT revolve around America. When you posted, it was way after Team17's closing time. So have patience ffs!

I really hate to post so this gets to the top, but i'm having the exact same problem and it is very bothersom. I just got windows vista and this just stopped working after the patch. I could sure use some help here guys.

Salty: Which version of Worms World Party are you using, and which patch have you installed? FOr example I have the original UK retail release, and after using the UK Service Pack it works fine.

Of course, people may think that they have bought the US version, and therefore have installed the US patch. Try reinstalling and using the UK patch.
