I’ve received news of a possible sequel to Superfrog that may be in the offing, by fans for fans with Team17's blessing. Its creators have asked me to get the Superfrog community involved.

I don't know much else at this stage, although the e-mail I got looks like this:

Team17 has given my team an assignment of designing a 1 level SF game remake - in order to test the waters for a proper remake.

(Can someone from Team17 confirm this? I'd like to know!)

They'd like the gaming community to share any ideas that might be helpful should such a remake be made! What do you like about Superfrog? What don't you like? What would you like to see?

Obviously such a forum thread may be the ideal place for discussion. There's one going on at the GOG Superfrog Forum (http://www.gog.com/forum/superfrog/possible_remake_sequel_to_superfrog), but there aren't many ideas there. Still, it's a start. In lieu of the time and/or effort it would take to set up my forum (that and the fact that nobody who visits my site would post on it), I hope it's okay to gather ideas from the general T17 community too.

So... any ideas?

Hi Pooka,
First thank you for the well written documentation on superfrog at your fan website.
Thank you for the help to get the community to help us with feedback and testing.

That said, lets get the disclaimers out of the way first.
I am not completely sure that what we are doing is an official team17 super frog game. It's merely a demo of the first level and a test to see how it works out as a modern remake. At this point, it's just an university assignment and a fan-made game.
Team 17 is awesome in a way that they will aid us with feedback.
It's not official aid until they decide to state so.

However, due to the nature of the legality of our university owning the demo, It is likely to not be bound by any secrecy. This can be very positive, as it allows us to seek the most hardcore superfrog fans out and get them involved!

That means you and everyone else who remembers superfrog and would like to help us give it a chance for a reboot one day.

We need to create something that not only pushes the graphics and makes it competitive today, but also keeps all the core ideas that hold a special place in your nostalgic hearts.

It's going to be a brave remake that brings it back to live with a kick.

You guys can help us with information.
Also at some point, we will need bug testers. That means playing an unfinished game with placeholder graphics and criticizing only specific aspects of it- pointing out things that break the gameplay for example.

To organize all this, it will take patience and time. At this point I need you to be patient and join this thread- starting by introducing yourself by telling us about your first time you played superfrog. What were your biggest impressions back then? :p
One thread might not be ideal for us, so later on , we might need you to join pooka's dedicated fan game forum - it will be only for those who really want to get involved with testing and feedback.
