Hi all
Updates to Worms Revolution have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:
Player Profiles added in. To create a new Player Profile select the option within the Customisation menu. Each profile will have their own single player progress and team customisations. (NOTE: You don't have to start from fresh, if you select a current profile you can copy it so the new profile has the same classes/progress unlocked.)
Implemented the ability to change the quality of shadows and turn them off
Fixed an issue with the map generator
Fixed an issue with the Girder Restriction 'Off' setting
Fixed an issue which occurred in the text chat box after rebinding certain keys
Fixed an issue which occurred when trying to mute players whilst a game was in progress
Fixed an issue with some shadows appearing stripy on certain graphics cards
Ninja Rope auto-hop has been improved
Fixed an issue with the Mine fuse settings
Fixed an issue where DLC content wasn't appearing for some players
This will update your game to show the version number as #77 in the Main Menu.

I hope this update applies to Xbox 360 users as well?
The patch does work!
i finally got my preorder-content ingame - thank you!
Quick question: Will there be a patch for the console versions as well to allow for multiple profiles on one Gamertag/PSN ID? Personally, this isn't really an issue for me, as my friends that I'll be playing local multiplayer with each have their own Gamertags.
But even so, I know that a lot of people that don't have the controllers or memory to create new Gamertags/PSN IDs on their consoles have this problem, and even for me, it'd be a whole lot easier to be able to create multiple profiles on one Gamertag/PSN ID instead of having to log out of one and into another to do so.

Can we expect a xbla/psn patch anytime soon too?

I was rather hoping we'd be able to create unlimited teams and not have to run through SP to unlock worm types. Also, no option to create AI teams? This only seems to cater to people who want multiple profiles, not those who want unlimited player and AI teams to have fun with like every other worms incarnation. Shame.
At least I can turn off shadows now, although they are still striped for me if I have them switched on. Also I cannot edit the options for anti-aliasing or water complexity.

Are we going to eventually have the option to enable anti-aliasing on ATI graphics cards?
So as you may have realized, with a new profile you will have to unlock everything all over again - it's however possible to copy any profile by clicking on your profile in the profiles menu and select "copy profile" which you can then rename. Just noting that down here since everyone I've been talking to seems to have missed out on this possibility.

you still cant change anything about the CPU teams or change them or add new cpu teams into the mix though, one of the best funtions of reloaded that was

It's not as efficient as the other games, so maybe you could add a "Share Campaign Progress and Unlockables Across All Profiles." option in the next update.
Also, I'm still getting the stripy/blocky shadows, it's not as bad now, but it's still there...
Player Profiles added in. To create a new Player Profile select the option within the Customisation menu. Each profile will have their own single player progress and team customisations
so if this is what i guess it is, it means that still if we want to play locally, we have to unlock everything... worm classes and so on... twice?

No, you can copy a Player Profile if you want to. You can even rename all of the worms and formations in the copied profile.

That functionality already exists. To do this select Customisation > Player Profiles > Select your original profile > Copy Profile.

So are there any plans to patch in a function to create AI teams to play against?

To those asking about Xbox / PS3 patches. Patching a console game is extremely expencive, ~£10,000 per SKU, so assuming its been released in Western Europe and USA thats at least £40,000 to release the patch.
That doesn't mean you won't get a patch, it depends just how game breaking any of the problems are, but I would expect a console patch to come later and batch together multiple PC patches (which are free to launch).
Think of the PC patches as beta tests towards your console one. As every patch fixes things its also likely to break things, so T17 will want to make sure all the patches are good before putting up the money on consoles.
Yeah because of the costs involved, console games tend to get a compilation of PC patches instead of every single patch one after the other.

Interesting, so how much does it cost to release DLC for PSN or XBLA?

Hey, whenever I go into a local game against my two profiles, one of them has the default keys instead of my remapped ones! Please fix this bug.

This was brought up in the Steam forum in regards to game controllers and it sounds like they're planning to get right on fixing this up.

Well... isn't it better if each player is able to use their own preferred control scheme?
Or is it not possible to remap controls for individual profiles? In this case this is indeed a pretty serious problem.

Well, apparently you can, and I have my controls set to a WA style for all my profiles, but it is still the defaults in game except for the selected profile.

indeed the controls is a bug, experiencing the same issue myself, i created 3 other profiles so I have 4 in total, 2 of them use my custom controls, 2 use the default ones

I 2nd this.. being able to add new CPU teams adds more gameplay... creating different names and team names for them instead of the same 4 over and over and over again...

Indeed. Playing against the presets is dull. My worms joy has always come from playing a deathmatch with human and AI players. Customizing AI teams is a big part of that.
I'd love to ask that given the nazi-helmet accessory, who has created a team of nazis to command personally? Surely they're supposed to be an AI team and we should be allowed to blow up Herman Woerming!
I sure hope the PS3 version gets a patch as well. Has it been confirmed it's in the works? If I know that it will come out eventually, I'll be satisfied enough.
Beth, any news on the state of random mines not working? You responded in my post that you would follow up with the devs and never got back and I see there is no notes about them. Thank you. :)

Can you comment on the console version please? So far the steam version has had all the perks, love and attention from Team17.
I've wanted to buy this game on xbox 360 since release but haven't seen the point as i can't make loads of different teams to use in local multiplayer. I also know a few friends on xbox with the same problem. One of my friends was stupid enough to buy it without trying a demo but luckily advised me to hold off buying it until a patch that was at the time being looked into. Now i see just the PC version gets fixed and the rest of us get ignored. Instead of ignoring peoples request for a patch on the xbox 360, can you just tell me if it's being worked on or not. If it is i can keep quietly checking back here until it's released then i'll buy the game. If not i need never return here again to bother you. Thanks.

Don't worry, this is the best way. PC users get a patch more swiftly because T17 don't have to pay the huge console fees, laid on by Microsoft and the like, for releasing a patch. This means T17 can release a patch or two, or however many it takes, on the PC to check for problems. Once they have a solid patch release on the PC they can put it through Microsoft for the Xbox.
This means that when you get a patch it will allow multiple controllers or controller swapping for local multiplayer sessions. If the current PC patch had been released you would have been really stuffed on a console, with no mouse and keyboard for the other player.
T17 are working on this bug. That's because us PC users have beta tested the patch for you.
However many iterative PC patches have to be released before consoles get a patch, if it means T17 can add more cool stuff and extra polish to the patch you eventually get it's a worth while wait. Get the game now as it works pretty well out of the box. It'll give you fun now, and you will be supporting the patch that will certainly come.
Be assured, as Beth will doubtless confirm that Team 17 never leave a worm behind. :)~

The 360 and PlayStation 3 versions work as intended, we do not plan to change the way the team system works on them. If players wish to use another team then they can create one using a different user account. The only reason this was changed on PC is because it is not possible to have multiple Steam accounts logged on from the same PC, so this was preventing our PC players from being able to create teams as intended. Whereas, on consoles players can create specific teams for that profile :)
The PC patch allows users to create another profile (which the console versions can already do) - they still have to do that to be able to create a different team, they can't just make 5 different customised teams to the same one user.

Why dont you just make it so people can customize the teams in the way that we were used to be able to in reloaded? what harm is there in making more customization possible? it just adds more gameplay and re-playability in the end for a lot of people? Like adding in new cpu teams? ability to add multiple customizations at once, The profile thing is awesome, that was a great change and thanks for doing that, but why stop there? just keep on releasing more features and more stuff for us to do? not criticizing or anything just trying to be logical about how we can make worms:rev even Better! then what we have already, making the most complete and best worms game yet, adding all things were good from the previous games and new things like you've done already... Most ppl that complain about Revolution is almost always about the amount of options the older games gave you, may take a little time, but I think it would be a good investment implement some of the options that keep making players go back to the older worm games... just a thought....

This is a huge disappointment. The heart of the complaint is not about creating more teams. The heart of the complaint is that teams can't be customized unless our friends log in through their own usernames and play through the campaign and puzzle--modes that aren't as fun and take too long.

I'd love to hear the devs' comments on this post. Well said. I too can see the benefit of profiles for some people, but it's just not how I play the game.

I would love an answer to this as well. Please don't just ignore this...because all that's going to accomplish is eventually, someone else is going to ask the exact same question. If this game had the level of customization that even just Reloaded had, I'd have no reason to want to go back to the old games. I'd think that's what you guys would want, right? For us to not want to play the old games, and to recommend this one to everyone? As it is, I've already told three different people to pass on the game because I knew fully well that what they liked about the older games isn't in this title. It's not even about just rope races, it's about things like choosing what weapons are in crates, making it so worms can't take damage and must be knocked into the water to die, or even some new customization options for this title. Yeah, we can select classic to force everyone to be Soldiers, but why stop there? Why not, for example, make it possible to impose class limits in custom schemes (e.g. make it so you can only have one Scientist)?
I don't even care at this point about things like having AA on my card. That would be nice, but I'll take all the staircase graphics in the world for Revolution to have more options.

All I want to do is sit down with 3 friends and play Worms, each of us with our own team, fully customized. Maybe one of us wants to play with 4 Heavys, another with 4 Scouts. We don't have time to play through the career 4 times just to unlock all the worms, it takes hours. Even if we did do that we would still have to keep logging into the game on different profiles just to change our forts, or our speech banks, it's totally insane.
I accept that it's too late for this game to be changed now, but please don't make this mistake again. It really has destroyed this game for me.
You don't actually have to do that, you could just do the campaign once and then clone that team with saves and all. I believe that gives you all the worms you've bought with it.
