View Full Version : Liquid Physics in Worms Revolution?
Okay guys, I preordered the game in the hope that this game will be the ultimate "2D" experience of Worms. I preordered on the PC by the way, since it seems that the PC is always the best choice for Worms titles, excluding the fact that using a handheld controller is much more comfortable while relaxing in a couch.
Questions:
Only water in the game?
How about lava that makes 1 HP loss every frame per second on collision? (Very interested in this)
How about radioactive liquid that gives the worm poisoned condition?
How about oil that is slippery, and can be lit on fire and possibly stays for a couple of rounds?
These are very good possibilities which could add onto the liquid physics in the new game / engine. Please let me know what you guys think, what kind of liquids you would like to see in the new game?
I know that the problem could be to fit these inside the inventory as possible "tools/weapons", where it's hard to have a totally symmetric selection. But in my opinion that's not so important, the inventory menu could be changed for such a purpose, without leaving empty item selection slots.

No, the ultimate problem is that the design stage is way past now and the beta stage is like already over as well. At some point suggestions are just late. You could go ahead and suggest a ton of weapons and tools like, whatever, planes or nukes and it just ain't gonna be happening.
But hey, your suggestions might end up being taken into consideration for a next release. Or even as DLC for Revolution, whatever.

That's understandable, I just think it might feel empty with just water as a usable liquid in the game. If you could mix water, lava, oil, etc liquids it would make the game that much more enjoyable.
Water being able to put out fire is good, but then again, putting out water with fire is harder than using lava. Having oil in the game that makes the surface slippery, and that can be lit on fire also just gives it that much more depth.
Actually being able to use lava as a tool / weapon could be overpowered, so having that as a environment would be better. Like having lava pits underneath you or above you in the map, would add that much more use for the water tools / weapons.
I agree more liquids would be awesome, but I am afraid it's too late unless they add them later on down the road. I wish barrels were effected more by physics and rolled down hills like other objects/weapons. Napalm also looks very two dimensional and static, the addition of lava or oil would make them much more dynamic and fun to use.

I think more liquids would be cool. It would be interesting if you could have the option for the game to rain every few turns, building up water in areas and every now and then drown the unsuspecting worm.
I think Lava should be like water, except it grants immediate damage upon contact, once you are in the lava, you take damage like it is water.

I agree, if there was oil, you could drop a napalm strike onto the oil and light the whole area up. Hopefully for more than one turn, as I don't think one turn is enough for that matter.

That's interesting, raining and drowning worms slowly from above, would have to stay on safe grounds with the worms.
It would be nice if the lava functioned that way, although I see lava as something far more dangerous than water. Such as it would take damage on contact with the worm, about the same as a flamethrower would for the sake of not being too cruel against the worms. But if your worm happened to land in a lava pit, the worm would be turned into bones and ashes.
Now imagine raising water while it's raining, or better yet, imagine raising lava while it's raining, that would be so awesome.

It would definitely make it more interesting with different liquids on different levels, rather than just water.

I'll just leave that there.

Honestly I'm more excited about the new water physics than anything else, I'll probably just spend the first day treating it like a physics sandbox game.:p Even more liquids would be great, however I'm grateful for the new water physics alone.

That would be amazing! I would love it if this were to get a DLC release.
