There were a couple of hints on the Team17 website and on Facebook that this thing was in the making, and now it's officially official, too! First, Read the announcement on Facebook. (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151056067268476&set=a.402757798475.181201.54059728475&type=1&relevant_count=1) Then, if you care enough, use this thread to discuss or write useless suggestions about what you demand expect from this game. Simple, eh?

There is currently a closed closed secret beta kinda thing running, but never fear, there'll be a public closed beta as well, so stay tuned.

So happy I will finally be able to play against my Mac owning friends :D
Also hope this will help to bring people into worms.
Has the game been made more casual, or is it pretty much the game we all know?

From what I've read, seen and from idle speculation, I expect it to be much more casual. First thing which is quite noticeable is that map size and complexity of its structure appear to be relatively low. Furthermore, I presume the payment model to be similar to "Wild Ones (http://wildones.wikia.com/wiki/Wild_Ones_Wiki)", a comparable (yet, gameplay-wise, rather different) game on Facebook. There, you get a starting arsenal of weapons which you take to any battle. While playing, it will naturally decrease, but you recieve free weapons from time to time as well as money for winning (and playing) matches, which you can spend on additional weaponry and customisation items. That's completely free, however you can also pay real money to recieve more weapons in less time. There are also certain customisation items that can only be purchased with real money. I could imagine these things for Worms as well.

Hi all,

http://i49.tinypic.com/1z3q7us.jpg

Access to the beta is a two stage process. First go to http://apps.facebook.com/playworms/ where you’ll be asked to enter your details and fill in a super-short questionaire. Secondly sit tight and wait for the email telling you that you’ve been selected. More and more players will be added every day so even if you’re not selected immediately it shouldn’t be too long before you can enter the battle.
