hi all, 6 years since the last time i was here, lol
anyway, im buying a PS3 and one of the 1st games I want to try is worms 2: armageddon, even though almost everyone from w:a says it sucks.

what I want to know if there are any leagues/communities/clans like in w:a or the competition is based in the internal ranking system? If so, what are those sites?
how many players are online at any given time?

Congrats on the PS3, make sure to get Uncharted and LittleBigPlanet.

As for your question though, there's really not that many people actively playing unless you go into ranked matches (which are full of quitters), but I play almost every night and there's always a few people to play with so its not dead. Just be prepared for someone quitting as soon as you're about to beat them or they mess up on their turn, that's really the only downside to this otherwise its great fun.

but if ppl quit in a ranked match, I suppose the player that stays gets the points/win?

also, I've read that u cant play online with ppl from different regions of the world, does that problem still exist? if so, I'm from Chile, can I only play with ppl from my country, south america or the entire world?

Should be fine now as the new patch has now gone live everywhere.

You SHOULD, but you don't. So the 'Get 17 wins in each game type' trophy is more like 30+ wins because of quitters.

wow, to be honest, all these comments are making me doubtful of buying the game, u're saying that there aren't many players online, I spent a lot of time searching for a league/community for w2:a for PS3 and didn't find a single one and now u say that when someone quits in a ranked match (which apparently happens a lot) u dont even get the win? and t17 hasn't fixed this in over a year? lol, no wonder EVERYONE says that this game sucks.

lol, no wonder EVERYONE says that this game sucks.

Personally I think it's not nice to insult a game into the game creators forum.

By the way, Worms 2: Armageddon doesn't suck. You should try it.

I like it, but I prefer playing Worms Reloaded... (I don't have a PS3 by myself, but some friends of mine do).

Its definitely a good game but the quitters ruin it. Personally, if you're not going for the trophies and just fun, don't play ranked, there's a lot of good players playing regular games. Just now I had a forts match, me vs 2 other guys (4 worms vs 8) and I won with 1 worm left and they didn't quit on me, most people playing ranked are casual players just trying to get the trophies.

Whenever I look for a match, I just use the quick game option and most of the time I can get into a game either joining someone or hosting, in a couple of minutes.

i played w:a on the pc for most of the last 10 years also (StreakMarkXGiT), and the physics were hard to get used to in the new w:a but it is a fun game. nowhere near the same clan and league activity that we may be used to but that's because most clans on x360 or ps3 are multi-game clans and usually fps games. the roping is waaaaay different and you just don't see it get used the way it used to like in propers or even shoppers

as far as the quitters go... if someone quits you do get credit for the win towards the leaderboards but not towards the achievement.
i play only ranked matches and i find tons of good competition...

I'm actually opposite, I'm playing Worms 2 for the first time in 10 years (same engine as W:A, W:WP) and couldn't get used to the rope after playing the PSN games for the past year lol
