View Full Version : Can't play any scheme with PNG-maps
When I join a game like shopper, tower race... you name it, I can't see the maps. "Big file loading" is written and then after a few seconds a normal random worms-map is there (cave, island etc.), not a shopper-map? This happens also with HostingBuddy. But there's no problems when I create a game. If I join it and play, I'll be white flaged instantly and disconnected. What do to?

Is your WA path restricted in rights? Where do you have your Worms Armageddon installed?
C:\Program Files (x86)\Team17\Worms Armageddon\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Team17\Worms Armageddon\
Lol, another one. Since you do not know, I'll give you an advice:
Do not ever install Worms Armageddon in Program Files folder, because it is restricted in rights by default on Windows Vista and 7. To solve this problem, you can either move the Team17 folder to the root of C: or better reinstall the game and apply patches again (to ensure that the path to the game, such as one that is used for playing replays is correct).

Ah, it works now. Thanks!

So I was having the same trouble, and am glad to hear the solution is so easy.
However - you say this as if it were common knowledge? I did some fairly rough searching around different troubleshooting areas and didn't come across this until here. I imagine this comes up a LOT seeing as Program Files is the default option for installations..
So yeah, heads up to anyone who maintains any troubleshooters - stick this tidbit in!
It is frustrating having anything in Program Files, constantly getting asked for permission to do anything. Might have to give up on using it as my default.. Out with the old, in with the new.

Well, as I see, this problem has grown up recently. It isn't in the Troubleshooting FAQ because it wasn't really touched before. Now, when people migrate to Windows 7 and want to install WA into Program Files, they will get problems.
And no, Program Files isn't the default option for W:A beta update or CD installer. It's just users who like to install into Program Files and manually change the path.

Btw, doesn't disabling ugly UAC in Win7 or Vista fix the problem too?

Yeah, it does, but it's not the best solution - risks concerned here too.

The risk of using brain while lolinternetlol
The risk of something trying to sneak in in completely undetectable ways other then that of a UAC prompt when it tries to elevate it self.

I don't know how many ways I've seen to get around UAC
