Hi all - my son (15) was able to load this game 3 days ago, then I came along, setupa wireless adpaptor and the winxp went into update mode. Now when we hit the shortcut key we get, a short preview of a animated gun and then a error box that worms 4.exe has had a problem and we can send an error report to Microsoft!?
I have tried to understand the report but it dosnt make much sense to me. :(

I might be able to post the report though? If you think you can help with this issue then please reply asap. I suggested he (son) could reload from disk, and then he said he did that a long time ago and lost all his game data? Maybe you could helpwith that as well?

You updated your win xp? bad decision i never updated mine and i didn't get problems i did update it once it simply suicides with a blue screen.

So I'd advise you to reinstall win xp and turn automatic updates off.

Its one thing to live in hindsight and another to "live" with windows making "smart update" work well! LOL
Yeh I hear what your saying - Its an old OS anyway, the support has just about ceased and we get stuck with it being connected to the internet and "wonderful" NOT - updates.
I've been down the path of Reinstalling XP and what a shocker!!:eek: I would rather install Linux - at least that dosnt make the OS so unstable you cant work it!

So what about a the options for reinstalling Worms 4 then?? And where can i find the data files of saved/succedded levels??

Got to the stage of accepting this game needed a reinstall. So with the cd in and the "approval" granted, i reloaded it.
When the setup came to a option screen of "do you want to keep saved games" I choose 'Yes' thinking I might actually be able to keep the game data on reload!

Rebooted after install and .... no - same thing, windows came up with the error message same as last time. So it looks like we cant play the game on XP any more. And thinking back I know a few 'updates' of XP were applied and the game showed no signs of error. :rolleyes:

So until we have another CD of XP then were stuck. Will just have to wait and see if a cheap old XP disc comes up for sale with a 'key'.
