View Full Version : Why...

... was it not possible to add more weapons into a game which calls itself the "best of" of the 3D series, bill? Worms 3D had some very nice weapons which Mayhem didn't have and still we only got 40 in Ultimate Mayhem, which sadly even lies under the ammount of weapons in Mayhem (41).

Why do you stagnate on the 40-45 weapons limit (even in your other games) whereas you had so many original and unique weapons in your past titles? Where lies the problem to just take the code from 3D, add some new graphics and implement it into Ultimate Mayhem?

Even the little price on steam can't ease this disappointment and I still have no idea if I should buy this game or not.

I would also like to ask, why?! And lets not forget, even these 39-40 are not all weapons in Ultimate Mayhem, they also include utilities.

Thing is, not all weapons from Worms 3D really made sense, or fit well to a 3D environment. Worms 4 was generally better sorted out, removing useless stuff or changing it (e.g. Mad Cows to Bovine Blitz).

Don't get me wrong, I actually would like some weapons of Worms 3D to return.

I'm more disappointed by the fact that Worms Ultimate Mayhem looks 90% like Worms 4: Mayhem (you can see the trailers on Team17 YouTube), while Team17 said on Facebook they enhanced textures, increased polygon count, improved water effects and added some shaders. Only the last two are true, and still, very minor additions.

And after Worms Reloaded I don't have any confidence in the Multi Player either. Reloaded multi player is bugged, so I am definitely going to wait for reviews before I get this.

Reload Multiplayer is dead. I can't find any lobbies since the last month, which is absolutely horrible. :-/

It's a bug. When not seeing any lobbies, you have to try to restart the game or Steam. There are in fact people playing. Actually we can only guess it's a bug, but testing with friends and strangers we noticed people just can't see certain lobbies until they restart the game.

First time I noticed that was when I was sitting in front of an empty list and creating an own lobby with no one to join either. So I left and saw a racing lobby which I joined, everyone stated the racing one was the only lobby available for them.
So I restareted Steam and suddenly the lobby lists were filled - many lobbies to only consist of 1 or 2 people. As if there was a problem with region locks. It's a very strange thing overall.

I am sorry Thurbo, you can't just go on defending the faults. Its a fact that Reloaded Multi Player was never right to begin with, everyone raised the problems with the lobby since the BETA but till date it is the same.

I've got over 100 hours of Worms Reloaded multiplayer gameplay and I never had a problem to find online lobbies, but now it seems like nobody is playing Reloaded anymore. Worms Reloaded doesn't appear in the Steam stats as well, so it got even less than 250 players atm.

The dlc's were horrible as well since no new weapons got added into the game (no new attraction for multiplayer battles), and I fear that Worms Ultimate Mayhem will suffer under the same fate.

Team 17 just did a horrible job on the longtime support of Reloaded.

6 years on and we've got the same recycled weapons, why do you think?

There is no need for more weapons, everyone plays Intermediate or something similar anyways. I for one, am against adding more weapons.

I thought there was a bunch of new weapons coming with the Open Warfare series and W2:A?

What actually made me upset was him saying DLCs are all s*** unless there's new weapons, which is retarded.

I don't really agree on that - I wouldn't mind new weapons, but as there's no need for new ones I'm fine with that too. The current games of the series are in a much better balance considering weapons than ever before, too.

Bunker Buster, Buffalo of Lies, Magnets, Ferrets etc. etc. all didn't appear in Worms 4 and are, in fact, all new. No idea what you mean.

Exactly.

6 years on from Worms 4 Mayhem and we get the same weapons as W4M, except the binnocular's which are going to be pretty crap anyway. Might as well just take ultimate out of the title.

Maybe you misunderstood me here. The dlc's were horrible in terms of multiplayer support. They actually look pretty nice, but as for now, I see no point in buying them for 4€. Some pack of new weapons and maybe some new game modes would have served Reloaded much better than some singleplayer missions.

Also, Worms Ultimate Mayhem didn't even appear in Steam's Top Seller list and the actual and official STEAM group has under 200 Members!! Seriously, how quick will Worms Ultimate Mayhem die if they give us the same support as in Reloaded? I am aware that those numbers may distort the whole picture, but I may indicate that the Reloaded group gathered MUCH MORE members in the same time interval. Seems like that most of the Worms players are still ****ed off by the whole mess.

p.s.: I counted the Worms 4 Mayhem tools and the game actually had only 38 tools (weapons + utitlites). So, Ultimate Mayhem has two additional weapons, but this still is unacceptable for a "best of" collection.

p.s.2: Haven't bought the game yet. Team 17, I would really like to know what DLC you planned for Ultimate Mayhem, if you're telling me, that THERE WILL BE more weapons in the future, then I'll buy it immediately.

If you have to pay for the weapons, I'll not bother. It will give people with more money a bigger advantage too.

Not really. I imagine either of these scenarios would be true:

1) If a player hosts a game with DLC weapons included in the scheme, then a person who doesn't have the DLC cannot join the game.

2) If a player hosts a game with DLC weapons included in the scheme, then any player that joins has access to the weapons, regardless of wether they purchased the DLC or not.

And I forget, does the game has a "special" team weapon? If so, that might be the only scenario when the enemy has a weapon you don't, but you still wouldn't be at a disadvantage unless the weapon was somehow overpowered compared to the standard "special" team weapons, which just seems unlikely to me.

The team weapon is custom-made in the weapon factory, so it could never be replaced by DLC.

Oh and if they still leave some slots unused just like in the previous 3d games I'm gonna be mad.

Does that answer the question? More isn't equal to better.
