I've been playing W:A for a few years on this system. I'd been using 3.6.19 on Windows XP.
Same system, I did a clean install of Windows 7, and a clean install of W:A from disc. Program worked at this point, but for the color palette issue. I updated to 3.6.31 and the color palette issue was solved.
Now however the front end freezes almost immediately (~1/2 second of animation at the longest). The audio is still playing in the background, every time I press a key I get a windows system sound effect. When I shift+escape to minimize and then restore the game I get a black screen with a white frame where the W:A logo should be.
I'd read the known issues and the troubleshoot FAQS. I've tried all of the registry tweaks and reset the tweaks.
