View Full Version : Is using petrol on a frozen non-leader worm in Shopper considered a cow?

EDIT: In addition, is using a petrol on a frozen worm without having previously gotten a crate considered a cow? (i.e. if a worm is trapped by a frozen worm, can they release petrol)

Technically, no damage is done to the worm that turn, but damage will be done to the worm eventually once he un-freezes.

Is this considered a cow?

Freeze is not a default shopper weapon.

It depends on the rules you're playing with. This is an edge case which nearly never occurs. Discuss it rationally with your opponent(s) and come to an agreement about the way it's handled. If the disagreement persists, you can either make a compromise and remove freeze and/or petrol from the scheme or just play with different opponents.

The Worms Armageddon community sometimes has unreasonable expectations regarding rules. I've found that if you play with the right people, everyone can come to reasonable agreements and have simultaneously friendly and competitive matches without necessarily adhering to the overall WA standard scheme rules.

There is no well-defined set of rules used in casual games. Lex's answer above is probably as close to an answer as you'll get.

imo it depends on if the person frozen was in the lead when you shot it. if so, no cow.

Ktl means kill the leader ....so if that petrol attemps to kill a worm of the leader team....its not cow....
But attemping to kill a worm of a team that is not the leader is considered cow....

... unless the game is played by the more devilish ABL rule-set xD

Questions like these make me want to murder people through my computer monitor. Preferably with a banana bomb, unless the socialist host has set rules on who I can attack in a game and scheme which has as its central focus - the killing of the other players.

Drop the petrol in the frozen worm. Either the other players whine and moan, but can't do anything to enforce invisible rules which have no part in this game, OR, they don't care and the result is the same (with less whining and moaning). You might get kicked if they have that wormkit .dll, and then you know that host is a jerk and you can avoid his games in the future. The chances are that the host didn't even tell you the rules before the game started, and it's his/her fault if you don't have mind-reading powers and automatically know what rules they are going to enforce.

Noob hosts who either don't tell the players the rules, or don't know that "KTL" isn't built into the game have absolutely ruined wormnet. Play with friends if you can, otherwise you have to whisper secret unknown rules to somehow prove you're not a noob, despite the fact that the host and most of the players are probably noobs who are simply good at repeating the magic words which let them stay in the game.

There's absolutely nothing to get mad about in a FFA ("Free For All") game. There are no "cows," no one for you to get mad at or to get mad at you. Which type of game would you rather play? One where everyone had fun, or one with a very high chance of at least 1 or 2 people not having fun (remember, one of those people could be you!)? Not enforcing the rules when it's an accident makes the rules completely useless! If someone breaks the KTL rule, which 99.9999% of the time happens on accident, then there's no reason to enforce it right? And if they did break it on purpose, guess what, they aren't going to skip their turn! So, why the hell is it even a rule? Free For All (http://violator.atspace.com/worms/ffa.html)

Edit: P.S. Shoppers are played on indestructible maps and thus should not have petrols or bows in the scheme which can lead to blocking, even accidentally. Clusters and mortars should be avoided as well because they can do a lot of damage in a tight spot, or with the glitch. ^^

People always tell me I'm a cow because when I lead I kill any team and by some people, you have to kill a guy below you...
And then I usually make chaos on the field so everyone quits. trolololol

Shopper rules aren't so fair though. KTL means that you have to attack the leader, but in a lot of cases, for example if 2 worms are so close most people attacks the worm that has less energy just to kill it and don't care who is the leader. In my opinion KTL means that you have to do MOST DAMAGE ON THE LEADER, so cow is the purpose to kill anyone except the leader. I think your petrol was cow anyway.

Actually it is not a cow if you hit leader's worm too.
So, if piled, you throw a grenade on a worm you want to kill and if you manage to damage the leader - it ain't a cow, but if you don't... You switch to KTC or the "cow" skips turn.

That's how it should work in theory. But in practice, if two worms are right next to each other, if your aim was off by even a little bit you could do more damage to the wrong worm.
