-No bugs will be fixed anymore cuz it will take hours to fix them on each level but please report bugs so i can fix them on worms breakout 2
-You can spread the game if you want and and place it on your site but your not allowed to sell it.

Very nice dude..... I can see myself losing much valuable sleep over this game in the near future. 'tis much more difficult than I anticipated, but no matter, I have no meaningful purpose in life, so wasting countless hours on thsi game will not be a problem.

sorry about the double post, but it wouldn't feel comfortable edit ing that post to ask darky a few things about what he can put in Worms Breakout
1.Customizable voices?
2.High scores?
3.I can never get the ball when it catches me by surprise, either make the paddle mouse-controlled, (though this would make problems for shooting, I understand that), the paddle faster, or the ball slower?
4.More weapons?
5.Passwords? I can hardly ever get past level 3, and when i do, I die straight away, please make passwords, the game is too hard without them :(

Anytime ur not gonna fire a weapon, play with the ball launcher selected and if u see ur going to lose a life quickly fire another ball, i myself got to level 17 like this. still trying to finish my own game :o

Worm-Man, I was trying to be nice and get you back on topic. I think that normally your posts are good but lately you seem to be turning into some kind of flamer, insulting people every few minutes. Start posting without slagging people off or you'll end up with a lot of enemies and Team17 probably wont be too happy either. in level 4 a glitch happens if you lose the ball once and it says"press fire button"but no matter how many times i press it,it keeps saying that message and doesnt do anything,this is the only level it happens in and is probably a mistake you accidently did,please fix this as it it gets annoying since i get past level 3(almost everytime) but i ussually lose a ball on that level.

P.S. Tip, Save Your 'nanas for levels 3 & 4, on level three , go to the edge of the playing area,turn round, aim straight up, aim just a little bit down and fire, you'll hit the destroyable bricks

This game is great, but hard :o

I've got a few things i found which you could sort maybe for Worms Breakout 2:

1. If the ball hits the brick and a utility crate is released... if i lose the ball before geting the util crate and it turns out to be a crate shower, i can wait on the press fire to start with the next life and collect all the crates :)

2. Mouse control 'd be cool, but not matter much ;)

Ahhh! I new there was something else. If i get the cluster ball, and a multiball the game crashes if the cluster bombs + 3 balls are hitting lots of blocks :/

also in worm break out 2 make it more easier PLEASE!i can only get up to level 6!we are worms players not arkanoid and arkanoid clones fans.
edit:also another glitch happens with multiball,if too balls hit the padle at the same time,one goes thorugh the paddle... :mad:

I found another glitch like the one i reported before,level 13 I think(yes i might be the 1 farthest in the game beside darky!)like before,I lost a ball and it didn't even reapear this time,so naturally when i pressed fire, nothing happened,mind checking the rest of the levels your self darky to c if this mistake is in any more?:confused:

also, here are my comments:
- help!!! i can't go beyond level 3 :(:mad:
- shouldn't levels have passwords? it's really sickening always having to start from the beginning when you lose
- crosshair? no, wait, you already said that you won't put that
- a readme explaining the game in full detail (a non-wormer or a no-experience-with-breakouts player may play it and say WTF?)
- scores (and highscores after you lose, telling your final level and score)
- you have to get 8 medikits to get an extra life??? omg!

edit: also, here's a small troubleshooting if you don't hear any music:

- check if you haven't disabled music in the game (press ctrl+m to enable/disable during game)
- check your sound volume options (go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sound > Advanced (Device volume)) and in the MIDI area check if your volume isn't too low or muted.
- try restarting the computer if none of the above work.

- i finally reached level 4 (which is hell! :( ) but when you lose a life, the game tells you to "Press Fire to continue" and i press it, but the game doesn't continue! AHHHHHHHH! :eek:
- if your ball sinks right when you finish a level (i shot the last brick and the ball sank right after) you get the "Next Level" and the "Press Fire to continue" messages at the same time, as well as the new ball.

The bug with level 4 has alraedy been sorted, it was mentioned somewhere earlier in the thread. You've gotta redownload the thing (version 1.20)

edit: well i don't know what made me type 1.20, but the problem is sorted in version 1.05 (the current one) :) You're probably still using v1.00

one thing i say about the game: it's pretty well made for a TGF game.

For Filesplitting I would use HJsplit
( hjsplit.exe is a file splitting program that is very easy to use
and doesn't take a long time to download ).

I got the info that he were meaning that you could split your other page so that it would be diversed into other smaller sub-account's, so you would save more space, and could get around with more pages, or something like that anyway :).

I think the game is ok, but I'd rather have the weapon strip showing what you got at the bottom 'cos it is distracting at the top. Other than that a pretty decent break-out game.

Edit: erm, it is a pretty decent (& very buggy!) game.

It suffers from frequent slow-downs. I can't cope with many balls on the screen at once. I was towards the end of level three. There were about 8 balls on the screen and it went to town. It completed level three and on level four all my lives went. I didn't even touch the KB. I believe the launch ball and fire button should be different as it seems it carried these key-presses forward to the next round.

I've never had any lag with it.. when your computer can't hangle 8 objects i would be worried.. what's the spec?

I have a P4 1.9GHz with 512 MB RAM. Should be more than able to cope, don't you think?

It is a game problem. I've run apps and games that are far more memory and processor intensive and they work just fine. No need for tech support either, I'm a part-time PC repair engineer :)

Edit: I used the compatibility settings under XP. Changed it to Win98/ME, disabled Visual themes and clicked disable advanced text thingy. Makes the game run a little smoother, but not much.

mine has run pervectly smoothe with that many balls on screen and i was running on a Athlon 1 Ghz, 384 RAM.. although its better now. Any one else had lag problems with it??

I've tried it under Win 98 SE. Not as bad, but it still suffers. Can cope with a few more balls tho. Tends to slow down on the later levels.

Maybe there is a memory leak somewhere...

I must say this game is very good. I think it would be cool if when you beat the level, the worm did the victory jump. Also when you get game over maybe the worm could jump into the water and do the classic drown. :)

Also as mention a readme would be cool. It could have descriptions of the weapons and tips.

basically, Worms Breakout is a wormy version of the classic breakout games (the ones where you have a paddle and a ball and have to break the blocks). what's wormy about it? well, it uses worms graphics and you can use some worms weapons (which you get in crates) like Bazooka or Grenade to blow up the blocks and they work exactly like in Worms. there also are health crates (catch 8 for extra life) and utilities (one is from worms, Crate Shower).
you can download it either on the second link of the first post of this thread or my website (in Worm Zone) or on W2/W:A website.

I'm clearly running version 1.05 and it still fails on level 2.

When I lose a ball, the "press fire to launch ball" (or whatever it was) messages pops up like normal, but the ball does not show up and fire does nothing.

That was because of multiple objects in play.

Whenever the music (which, by the way, gets kind of annoying after a while....it would be nice if you could also include a way of turning that off in your next version ;)) has to reload, there is a short lag, normally just about long enough so you lose control.

This game is great! I always love a good breakout game, and with worms??!! What could be better?...I could go for a nice, refreshing, cold, root beer right now...Seriosly though, the game is great! I wish I had more time on my hands so I could just play it all day long...but no, I have to do "more important" things. Like sleep. And eat. And breathe...

Cool game. i love the graphics, the sounds, and the acccuracy to WA. I don't know exactly where to locate this bug, but the game will sometimes freeze and then start again in a few seconds. It happens at different time. But anyways, kudos on the cool game.

But anyways, kudos on the cool game. that's a TGF problem. when the music loops (restarts) the game freezes for some time, which may cause you to lose the ball. of course, u can always disable the music.

i've just talked to Brusi (the boss) on icq and it seems they are back to work on WB2 (they also have to work on KP2's next version) and plan to have it released before september. he also says that it's so much better than WB1.
it also seems that a beta version isn't too far from release, so all you have to do is be patient :)

You misunderstood me, The game is almost completed, the only main thing to do is to create levels with my level editor, everything else is already done and working (Bonuses, weapons, using weapons, special bricks, normal bricks, level changing, world selection, difficulty settings...)

Could you release this level editor seperately so we can make levels and send them to you? Then you could implement the best ones.

First, some old weapons have been changed a little so now there are like new weapons (like mortar, it leaves a tail of clusters behind it while its flying and shotgun which shoots 3 particles at once). You also have a minigun now and some super weapons like concrete donkey that you can only get from the super sheep that sometimes fly across the top of the screen (You need to hit it).

As for the level editor I want the levels to slowly get harder and harder and if more then one person makes them it wont be possible.

this is just a sugestion but i think it would be good if you had level select, that lets you start from any level you managed to finish. so that i don't end up lossing on the third level and not geting any thurther.

The game is much more balanced and you can also select difficulty level so trust me, you dont need it :)

Ow look's interesting without a doubt, though I have no idea what all the weapon's at the top of the screen could do, guess they would work similar as before. The difference now is that you fire away the block's instead of worms right.

I dont really understand what you mean, you just select a weapon, hold spacebar to charge then release (like in other worms games). In worms breakout 2 the weapons have blast radius and are much more usefull then in worms breakout 1, you can destroy like 5 bricks with 1 bazooka)

Ya ya guys Im still here.. Im sorry that I cant say that its already up but what can I do? I have final exams and other really annoying stuff that take more and more time of my life, leaving me with no time at all for WBO2. I cannot promise anything exepct the fact that it WILL be out sometime, 100% sure, but its unknown if its tomorrow, next month or in 2010, it really depends on how much time I can find here and there to work on it. You must also remember that this is a much bigger project then WBO1.

My final test is on 3/7/04 but it doesnt mean I cant do anything else untill this day...
For the ones wondering how far I am, the only stuff left to do is minor graphic changes, maybe adding few more special bricks like explosive and switch bricks and ofcourse creating levels with my level editor that I may publish sometime after the release of the game

Yes, thats right, you have waited and waited and its finally here! worms breakout full version. First i would like to say some things:

-No bugs will be fixed anymore cuz it will take hours to fix them on each level but please report bugs so i can fix them on worms breakout 2
-You can spread the game if you want and and place it on your site but your not allowed to sell it.

No, Worms Breakout 2 isn't completed yet because I have too many stupid tests and exams now.

About the switch bricks, the original idea was there are some invincible bricks and another brick that when you hit it, all those invincible bricks disappear.

I have two questions:
Is color of brick something important,or they're color just to look better?
On what appearing of the crates depend?They're hidden in the paticular bricks,or it's random,or what?

Good game but whenever i get a crate shower the game freezes on me.

That's weird, that shouldn't happen, it didn't happen to me... occasionally when the music restarts it will glitch up, but that can be stopped by hitting ctrl+M or alt+M or something...

Nice game, but the ball and the paddle keep changing speed all the time! when i get a ball speed down, and then a multiball, the balls go at twice their normal speed instead of half! And if i get a paddle speed up, the ball also speeds up!
Anyway, I hate it when you get onto a new level and you had 0 lives left (for example), but loads of utilities in the last level, you lose Your utilities but you don't go back to 3 lives!
Ideally it should either get rid of all weapons and utilities and put you back to 3 lives when starting a new level, or keep ALL the things from the last level

Well... I currently have 15 levels completed, I want something around 30 and after that I need to add victory screen and the game is out. About 2 weeks after the release I hope to release the public level editor and a patch that allows you to play custom levels.

hey bonz....i downoaded breakout 2 a long time ago and was going for the original breakout now but when i click on the link u put up there and click "download" it shows an error...dunno what to do man..especially when i download from other sources and it install till 100% but never finishes completely

Both downloads from the links above work fine for me. It's my Filefront account's file repository.

Both versions I uploaded install fine and work flawlessly on my machine. Also, I didn't change the filenames, only packed the exe of the second one into a zip file too.

If your talking about the first WB, almost 5 years. If the second one, over 2 and a half years.

I just installed WB2, and I just wanna see if I can beat the game on Easy and Medium again. So far, nowhere near.

aw man still getting probs, i download from filefront and when i try to install it gets to 100% and says File: Uninstall.bin and just stays stuck there...i wanna play lolol
