View Full Version : New replays' context-menu icons
http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/6074/sofarj.png
Hi,
Today I added some icons to the WAgame's context menu.:)
Currently available in my WormKitDS (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=46030) and RubberWorm31 (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=42745) installers.
After installing, you may also find them in /graphics/ReplayIcon folder (nowk.ico is in the root).
Feel free to download and post comments here.:)
EDIT: at the moment only Windows Vista and Windows 7 are supported.
Thanks to Team17 for the Replay icon, thanks to wmdb.org for the map icon, thanks to SupSuper for the bomb icon, thanks to Joseph North for the video icon, thanks to Yusuke Kamiyamane for the log icon and to CyberShadow for the WormKit icon.
What about registry scripts? Installers are pest

then you'd have to copy icons, too.
It's first.
Second, we can have different installation directories, what about this?
You can also make a batch file to do everything for you.
Are people just too dumb these days to copy icons here and there and double click a .reg-file... but nice boredom work again steps though
and double click a .reg-file...
as i said man, WAPath differs.:D

1. Do you have those icons in different sizes or formats? I mean they could be included to help people who use larger context menus. (At least 24x24)

2. Could you put icons together in an .ICL file instead of putting in separate icon files?

hm, no, I don't.:( I think this will make the need to redo from scratch. But thanks for the idea anyway:)
PS: can you give me these "larger context menus", never seen. Or this is ment for very high resolutions?

Likewise, are people just too dumb these days to draw each pixel by hand instead of downloading icons?

Oh bloopy lol
By some independed independent tests it has been clarified that this method only works in Windows Vista and Windows 7. You will not see the icons on 2000/XP (I think the same for 98/ME). The way WinRAR is adding his icons to the context menu is more complicated and uses its own key and a DLL file, in which all the data about icons and context menus is stored.
Probably there is something in Vista/7's registry that allows them to read and understand the "Icon" key, if you know where it is, then we get it to work on 2000/XP. Otherwise, no support for them or I will have to learn how is that DLL composed.
