In response to the thread Quitters !!! Name and shame right here (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=44972), it seems only appropriate that those who deserve the actual spotlight be recognised for their ingenius tactics as well as their flawless technique.

Use this thread to applaud the worms you've had nothing but the pleasure of engaging in combat with.

My favourites:

Ganache, The Relentless
The reason I use that title to portray you is due to the fact that you absolutely refuse to quit a game, and would rather resort to forfeiting to end a game. Your unparalleled skill stands as a monument to dedication and diligence. It's nothing but an absolute pleasure to see your name pop up in the lobby. You are the sole reason this thread was started.

BENLEBOSS, The Reaper
As I've pointed out, you're a force to be reckoned with. A killing machine with the precision of a sniper who has caused me many a time to run and cower in bunkers and caves.

Les Frakas, Alluring Judas
At first glance you'd think this player doesn't know what he's doing when he opts to do some damage to your worms down in the depths of the caves rather than climb his way to secure the top spot - yet that's precisely how you end up at his mercy, betrayed by what you thought was a lack of skill. I've rarely been unnerved too such an extent due to the fact that I'm out of ropes and teleporters and this guy still has all his.

leroy, The Joker
You know I never thought anyone would don that rediculous-looking smiley unless it was the only accessory they've had, I mean it just completely spells out "Newbie", but you've proven that one shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. You're a true challenge and a master of the art of war.

I'd love to elaborate on everybodies' traits, but there's just not enough time to do so. Here are some other favourites:

-Lois & Hal
-GIANT REPUB.
-allan # leah

Thanks to all of you guys for making this game truly memorable.

Quite sincerely, I do think I can beat the top 30 in "Deathmatch" two times in a row without losing a single match. If only anyone would let me do it. 30 minutes of waiting for a match and the masses of quitters made me stop play the game, sadly.

Hey Thurbo ^_^

Forgot to mention you - not because I've played against you, but because whenever I come across a thread in which you posted, it is never outright rude or arrogant, yet from what I've gathered you're unmatched when it comes to skill (Which makes your cool-temperament all the more awesome!).

It's a sad thing, the quitting and the lack of players (as a result of the quitting). I hope though that you'll drop in for a quick set of matches once in a while, it would be awesome to go up against you ^_^

Cheers!

Well I call it a lobby, but it's actually just the screen where both your names and environments/gaming types display and one is randomly selected ^_^

*Sigh*

I did use to play this game for about the first 6 months since its release, until I had had enough. Searching for hours just to find three or even four matches, and half of the players quitting, has driven me apart from playing it. Owning both Worms Reloaded and Worms Open Warfare 2, I have no reason to play it except for offline mode with my friends.

I mean, this really is a sad thing, because gameplay-wise this game is actually very good. Currently I have my Wii's connection disabled anyway so I'm likely to never play it online again. I still play the PSP version online from time to time, though.

You obviously got the game a bit later than I did (I pre-ordered it so I even was one of the first players), but if you want proof there was a time you could find me online, here (http://s597.photobucket.com/albums/tt52/Thurbo1/?action=view&current=S7300345.jpg) you (http://s597.photobucket.com/albums/tt52/Thurbo1/?action=view&current=S7300346.jpg) go (http://s597.photobucket.com/albums/tt52/Thurbo1/?action=view&current=S7300344.jpg). I also used to be second place in the deathmatch rankings, maybe I'm still in the top 30, I dunno.

Oh, here's a rope race (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CEnRAdH1z8&feature=related) for your interest, too... I played with a friend who also recorded the match, I'm not sure whether I've ever happened to find a rope race searching for strangers :(

Xenos: You truly deserve #1 ranking, I don't care what Giantrepublic says. I've never faced a player with such vision. You pull off moves that I would never think of, & I've learned a gr8 deal playing you. Now that I've dispensed the pleasantries, you can be a real knob when you dig in a worm, put down the controller & go eat breakfast or watch TV when you know I'm out of ropes & teleports. (You're laughing right now, aren't you?).
GIANT REPUB.: You're also a gr8 player, but I just don't seem to have as much trouble defeating you.
Mac1966: Ha! Just kidding. Actually he's not terrible- just really annoying to have to play that stupid Big Bang game all the time. At least he's not a quitter.
Benleboss: Always a pleasure.
Allan # Leah: Ditto
Lois & Hal: I love making you quit. (You know you gain experience for losing gracefully, right?)
Thurbo: Please come back- I think I can finally whoop ya now.
Ganache: Good times
pawaw: Ditto
Les Frakas: Man, I hardly ever play ya...
Resevoir Dog: How can I forget? You should be up in the #2 spot IMHO.
Stevil: Tough defensive player. Put down the construction tools & sentry guns & come out & fight, you coward!

Quite honestly Balzonurchin, When your Squad pops up in the lobby I flinch a bit from fear. You're undoubtedly one of the most well-prepared, deadly accurate, and extremely resourceful players I've been matched up against.

You're a great player dude, and thank you for your opinion which also means a lot to me. ^_^

Yeah, sorry about those times that I have to leave, I honestly don't do it on purpose. I sometimes have a client that needs me to fix and upload some code for them ASAP and those are the only times I leave someone hanging like that.

PS: It's awesome to have you online here :)

Yeah Juno 007 is good. He owns me underwater. On dry land, I'm not so sure.

all those times you called me immature,
You thought you were gonna beat me on that first round, you even sent me "well played" after I screwed up on one of my turns, then I totally outsmarted you and had a major comeback and win, then the second round I got you good with one of my ninja ropes, then on your turn you fell using your ninja rope, and instead of fighting you gave up and you just stood there and waved the white flag on every turn till I killed your whole team, that's some real class. And you posted a thread about the truly worthy?a truly worthy player could actually come back from that and win, or at least try. sorry xenos but you are the sorest loser I ever didn't meet. that makes 7 of the last 8, but its OK the leader board still has you # 1 Lmfao

Ps. I don't care how many times you've played the game or how much more you practice, some people just plateau
you ever see a little kid start losing at a game and throw his hands down and say "Im not playing", that's exactly what you just did.

What, you mean he quit on you? Or is it that he just surrendered?

Because if it's the latter, then you're looking really bad right now.

giantrepub

he didn't surrender, he just stood there and waved the flag on every turn without moving or doing anything and let the whole 30 seconds tick down every time till I finally took out his last guy out. It would of been fine if he just surrendered, but he did it just to be a jerk. its just funny how he gets smart and cocky when he thinks hes winning, then when he loses he acts like such a baby.I was just making a point that a truly worthy player would still make an effort no matter how bad the situation, you only need one worm to win, if It would of been the ohter way around I would of found a way to win. and plasma I don't care what you think bro.
