i just reinstalled, with windows 7, magically i didnt have to do all the color fix crap. Or the fast stars in the intro screen or ne thing. But when i try to rope offline or online about every 4 or 5 seconds there is a tiny little lag, which pauses my game and disables me from keeping any rhythm. Couldn't find anything on it in the forums, and I tried enabling the timer workaround, didn't seem to work. Help would be appreciated, thanks!

Periodic lags may be caused by anything ranging from software running in the background, or buggy ATi drivers.

I try not to run any major programs in the background and i also use sli nvidia 9800gtx, maybe i'll try to take it off of sli and see what happens?

I use a single nVidia 9800 GTX+, and my game runs consistently smoothly. Have you tried checking the various activity monitors in Process Explorer to see if anything's periodically spiking?

Power saving, energy efficient etc. settings can cause it. Such settings can usually be found for both CPU's and video cards. For the CPU you control such settings in the BIOS while with the video card you use the appropriate control panel program.
