Hey,

since I got my new Notebook, worms is very laggy - it's horrible to play.
I have a Intel I7-2720QM, 4GB RAM, nVidia Geforce GT 540m and Win7.

I've tried to play it as Administrator, disable Scale at high DPI-value, play with the nVidia-card, play with the Intel HD graphic..

The drivers are all up to date, Windows is up to date. I also disabled the Windows Defender, but still laggy.

Tried to play at compatibility modus, but then wa won't start.

So.. have u any idea what I can do to fix the lags?

Firstly, use a computer, not a book! ;D

I'm just kidding. I have absolutely no idea why WA would be lagging on your computer. Have you checked if your browser is trying to animate 19821098 bloated flash ads, or if you have similar nonsense running in the background? You're on the right track by using your video card to render video. Mobo-integrated graphics are usually slower than nVidia GPUs.

WA doesn't require administrator privileges to play. Scaling isn't necessary if you play at your monitor's native resolution. Sorry for being useless! I am responding in order to confirm that there are others as confused as you about your problem. Hopefully a miracle worker will come by and say something like, "There is a known problem with your X and driver version Y fixes it!" I have nothing more to say except "Using Process Explorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653) can usually help to diagnose performance issues further."

Isn't WA using DirectX 7?
Weren't there fags at nVidia and Intel saying they don't need to fully support DirectX 7 anymore?

No Pac-man, only Intel have been saying that.

And why are many DX7 games not running properly on most new nVidia chipsets anymore?

They do work? If they don't then something is wrong with your PC! aside from the video card.

I don't own a nVidia video card myself because of that, but as an example, programmers on the Blitz Basic-Portal (http://www.blitzforum.de/forum/) have several problems with the new nVidia graphic cards and their programmed games, since BlitzBasic uses DirectX7.

Back to topic: "...play with the nVidia-card, play with the Intel HD graphic..."; that sounds like you have two graphic chipsets, or are there doubled system control panel applets?

Which lags do you have? Slow gameplay or every-second-pauses (screen lags)? If the second I would recommend you wkAntiLag (http://stepsfiles.tk/wa/wk/wkAntiLag.dll) module for WormKit.

The new Intel Core I series have an integrated gpu.

I'm experiencing the same thing, very minor yet very annoying screenlags and my notebook's specs are also very similar. It's really annoying not to be able to rope on this new machine, I always gotta switch computers if I wanna play WA. :(

Random00 told me to use older gfx drivers but I don't even wanna try that because I'm playing newer games too.. Gonna try that Wormkit module tomorrow, hope it helps.

Then your problem is in the graphic card, obviously.

If you're not into roping that much, try playing WA on a virtual computer. WMware is pretty decent (again, if you're not looking for games involving fast roping), and you also get the advantage to play W:A windowed.

Just don't get the latest WMware version, look for 7.1.2

I'm playing WxW and Trickrace :/ So I'm roping very much..

Then I only see
- non-nVidia graphics card or
- dual boot with non-Win7

All that module does is increase the priority of the WA.exe process. You can do that manually in Task Manager and see if it does anything before downloading Russian .dll files.

Just sayin'. :-/

Warning, Steps believes in that module and a rage post may follow

Against all odds, raising the priority of wa.exe actually made the game a bit smoother. I'm not entirely sure yet, only checked for like 2 minutes of standard roping. I'll report back soon.

Yeah. Just to test, you can. But this module is unreplaceable when using it every time (not to go every time in Task Manager).
btw, about
Russian .dll files.
RubberWorm and many current 3.6.31.0-compatible modules are "russian", because they are written by Kawoosh (KMZ), and I help him with ideas and concepts.

Okay after playing a couple of roping games I can safely say it's gotten a slight bit better but is still unplayable. So raising the priority is useless for me.. :(
