I always loved Worms videogames and I have bought Worms Armageddon for a lot of time ago.
Recently I found out that it exists a version of this game called "Worms Armageddon - New Edition".
I don't think it's legal, but there are a lot of fan made fanfares, speech banks and you can play without the CD game.

The point is... Can I play this cracked version (I suppose it is) of Worms Armageddon, if I own the original one? I mean, is this legal or no?

You're using a cracked .exe of the game, which is illegal in most jurisdictions, even if you had the original and wanted to use it as a backup copy.

Why would you use it anyway?
That pirate copy is using an outdated beta patch and also complete ignores DC and CS work, pretending to be original work.

WA's copy protection is obsolete and the beta updates have ditched the CD checks, so you can simply use a disk image from your original copy.

Also, those fanfares and speechbanks are stolen from various sources on the net, so you can get those and more anyway.

Ok it's illegal... (Do you know if in Italy is illegal?)
By the way I use it, because it would be boring look for all of that fan made stuff separatly on the net.
Furthermore a disk image fills the HD and there is no problem with the CyberShadow updates: I have the latest version (v. 3.6.31.0 beta).

I'd like to add that I can't support cracked/pirate versions of W:A, even if you were legally justified to use them and I wanted to help you. (I've seen too many problems caused by such versions, and I don't want to waste time dealing with them again.)

Of course you can't support me... I opened this topic, because I just wanted to know if it was legal using this kind of version if you own the original one.

"Worms Armageddon - New Edition" is more comfortable for me, but if it's illegal I'll install the CD version.

You're better off with sticking with the CD, and installing Alcohol52% (or some other virtual CD software) so that you don't have to actually use the CD again. And then, as Bonz said, just download the fanfares and speech banks from online.

Just Copy the "worms armageddon new edition" fanfares and speech banks into your legal game folder and then delete the cracked exe and folders from your pc....or look up for a torrent and download just the fanfares and the speech banks without the illegal content.....

and you can play without the CD game.

Make a iso img and mount it into a virtual drive(Daemontools or Alcohol120%)....cracks are illegal and dont work with recent beta updates...
