Problem solved! The key for moving a girder upwards is the first person key!

I think it was the E key (blimp view key), not sure as I haven't played in a while.

Actually that's for moving it down.

I checked in Worms 4 Mayhem, and then I had this idea to try the first person view button (which is on my mouse), and bam, it works.

In fact it says so in the manual, that's what these things are for. However, I'm pretty sure it also tells you so in the in-game weapon panel description.

And although I ordered it with the case, I don't recall there being a manual. There might have been, but when I moved out of my old house, I only took the cd.:(
